Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted May 10, 2002 I'm looking at the M Pro release of Kaientai DX. I've heard great things about M Pro from around this time and was wondering if someone could tell me if this is a good tape. All I've seen of M Pro is J Cup 3rd stage, and when their guys fought in New Japan and ECW.
Guest PlatypusFool Report post Posted May 10, 2002 Will be whole HEAP of fun, but from what I can tell, it's just clips of matches and interview segments etc. Much more worth it to pick up some tapes from aruond then, like These Days, Heartbreak and any others with a KDX tag match on. Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted May 11, 2002 Yeah, you pretty much can't go wrong with M Pro in '96. However, I would start with the three big comercial releases first (These Days, Heartbreak, and Crisis in Lucha Paradise) and then look for more stuff after that. Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted May 11, 2002 I got that video. It's really good albeit just a bunch of clips..but it's still pretty cool. And funny....i don't know what they're saying but the mannerisms and reactions they have during the opening scene(not to mention the outfits) are just damn funny. Plus you get to see all the ways they figured out how to humiliate Super Delfin. Hey I wanna get Crisis in Lucha Paradise but is it clipped or does it mostly have full matches? Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted May 11, 2002 Most M Pro commerical tapes are hacked up to pieces, that's part of the reason I don't have any M Pro besides J Cup 3rd. Does the KDX tape show TAKA and Funaki joining? I've heard that TAKA and Funaki were like a modern day Midnight Express and KDX trying to recruit them was a major M Pro storyline. Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted May 11, 2002 It shows them trying to get TAKA and Funaki to join by shaking there hand and they walk out. Then in a 6-man they extend there hand in friendship and partnership to Funaki, TAKA, and Gran Naniwa. TAKA and Funaki hug them and finally join. They turn to Gran Naniwa and extend there hand in friendship and he's all like "screw all of you" and he walks out.
Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted May 11, 2002 While all M Pro comercial releases are usually hacked to pieces, there is usually enough stuff left untouched to make up for it. On a somewhat trivial note: I'm pretty sure that before Taka and Funaki joined it was just Kaientai. Once those two joined the DX was added to stand for "Delux." Guest Report post Posted May 14, 2002 I've seen some great shit come from K-DX. Dick Togo, MEN'S Teioh, Shiryu, Shoichi Funaki & TAKA Michinoku had to be one of the best heel stables I've ever seen in my life. It's such a shame that they (except Shiryu/Kaz) were fucked over in the WWF. Seriously, Vince didn't know what he had in Togo & Teioh, I was shocked when he let them go. Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted May 14, 2002 Also Hanzoh(the guy who jobbed to Y2J at JCup95) joined them later on. It's on that tape. He jumps into the ring dressed as Tiger Mask and assaults Sasuke. The fans go nuts and then he rips off the mask and reveals who he is.
Guest MRFTW Report post Posted May 14, 2002 "It's such a shame that they (except Shiryu/Kaz) were fucked over in the WWF" It's all that damn Sasuke's fault. They could have gone to WCW whear they allready had a pretty good, established crusier division but noooo, Sasuke had to be all pissed at Ultimo Dragon for whatever reason and not want to go since he was working thear and went with the WWF instead. Forget going to Stanford, he shouldn't have tried to come to America in the first place. Stupid Sasuke (like so many legends in Japan) wanted tenaciously to be famous in America, so he goes on his little cruisade with the WWF and ends up lossing the greatest heel stable of all time so he can work two matches, go to ECW, head home, and so on. Seriously, because of his idiocy the J*Crown was desolved, and the Bitchmasters/KDX Vs. Sasuke/NJ Sekigun feud never got to develope. Sasuke is such a tool sometimes. Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted May 16, 2002 I dunno maybe he wanted to be one of those world famous wrestlers? Can't blame the guy for setting high goals.
Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted May 16, 2002 I dunno maybe he wanted to be one of those world famous wrestlers? Can't blame the guy for setting high goals. Trying to be famous is one thing, but Sasuke was off his rocker to think that he would become famous in America, because at the end of the day Juniors never get half the respect here that they do in Japan. Liger, who is one of the most celebrated juniors in NJPW history, tried his luck in WCW and, despite having some phenominal matches with Brian Pillman, eventually jobbed by having a Tequilla bottle broken over his head. Sasuke's move was also dum because he burned his bridge with Liger and New Japan, which was far more valuable than any stupid trip to America was going to be, and he hasn't recovered from that until recently. Not to mention he lost Kaientai DX.
Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted May 18, 2002 The WWF Lightweight Division had no chance in hell of making it anyways. McMahon's idea was to build it around Sasuke, that's his mistake. The division is suposed to be built around a title, not a wrestler. Was Tajiri ever a member of KDX when he was in M Pro? He seems like he would have been a perfect addition. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted May 18, 2002 Did anyone read that Sheldon Goldberg article about him getting Sasuke into Ecw and stuff? It was a really good read and made Sasuke and Heyman out to be total jackasses...
Guest MRFTW Report post Posted May 18, 2002 "McMahon's idea was to build it around Sasuke, that's his mistake." The whole reason they ever started the division in the first place was because WCW was having so much succes with theirs and they wanted to copy. They never wanted to build it around Sasuke and passed him over for Taka instead and Vince's mistake was not actually getting anyone else to fill the division with. They brought in the rest of Kientai, had them attack Taka but then they joined him again soon after. Other then Brian Christopher who he never really worked well with anyways, Taka never had any other actual serious challengers. "Was Tajiri ever a member of KDX when he was in M Pro?" Nope, I don't recall him ever even being in M-pro at all, when was this? "Did anyone read that Sheldon Goldberg article about him getting Sasuke into Ecw and stuff?" Yeah, that's whear I read about him being pissed at Ultimo and stuff.

"Did anyone read that Sheldon Goldberg article about him getting Sasuke into Ecw and stuff?" Yeah, that's whear I read about him being pissed at Ultimo and stuff. I didn't ever hear of him participating in M Pro either, but it could have happened when he was wrestling as a junior in Big Japan. As for that article, I somehow doubt that the heat with Ultimo was that big, or still exhists today. If it did, M Pro and Toryumon wouldn't have worked together at the extent that they did. Hell, Ultimo put Sasuke put over his top prospect at Toryumon's first big show, and I doubt he would have done that had there been legitament heat between the two. Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted May 19, 2002 I heard on a board a few weeks back that Tajiri was once in KDX. I'd never heard it before so I figured he was in M Pro before ECW. If M Pro ever worked with BJPW then thats probably when he joined, IF he really joined.

Guest Joshi Guerrero Report post Posted May 19, 2002 Was Tajiri ever a member of KDX when he was in M Pro? He seems like he would have been a perfect addition. Yeah, I have him taging with Mens Teioh & Shoichi Funaki in a 6 man against El Gran Hamada/Masato Yakushiji/Naohiro Hoshikawa, although this is the only match I have seen he comes out in a KDX shirt and is wearing blue ect.. It's from some time in early '98.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted May 19, 2002 Are you sure you guys aren't thinking of Hanzoh? I'm pretty sure Tajiri wasn't in KDX.
Guest Joshi Guerrero Report post Posted May 19, 2002 I can't say if it was a long term thing or just a couple of tours but I can say 100% that he was in that match, wearing the colours and looking like a KDX member. I have it on a TV comp from Wrestleholics, Named "Michinoku Pro/Lucha TV "March-April 1998""
Guest MRFTW Report post Posted May 19, 2002 Mayby they made him a sort of honorary member for a night or something. Reminds me of the 8 man tag i've got with Danny Collins teaming with Togo, Funaki, and Shiryu. Even though he wasn't a member he acted like one and still did all the Kientai double team moves, poses, etc with them
Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted May 19, 2002 Yeah, Motegi was used in a similiar role, but was never an official member. Tajiri worked for Big Japan before he worked for ECW. He had some stints in the New Japan Juniors and M Pro, though.
Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted May 19, 2002 Tajiri's only New Japan matches were the Best of Super Juniors for 1997 and he fought Ohtani at 1/4/97 show. How long was his M Pro stay? His attitude and style make him seem like the perfect fit for M Pro
