The best coach of all time

Recommended Posts

Weaver didn't win enough titles to be considered the best coach/manager.

Bear Bryant won 6 National Championships. Had to recruit the players. Who he only had for 4 years, so he he long term success with different groups of players.

Earl Weaver is awesome just for cursing someone out on Orioles talk live. There is a reason some Yankee fans were actually scared of Earl when they were kids. He was always one step away from snapping and choking a pitcher to death with his belt.

We need more coaches who believe that running is for little pussies.

Bilichick balanced the team and has his highlight reel players playing for peanuts and fame. He is just as involved in the game, strategem and play call as the players which is to say just as involved as Lombardi.

He's going to lose players and gain some players, but the thing he needs to do to prove his greatness is win the divisional... something that shouldnt be too hard with his divisions teams being shuffled just as much. He's been able to adapt the rules to his idea of team effort and thats what's been working for them.

One Super Bowl is a crowning achievement for any coach, multiple wins is incredible and consecutive wins in this league puts that coach on a plateau.

True, coaching style and effectiveness may be questioned, but the game has evolved so much more and become more scientific. The players are now more emphasized in the wins than the coach, simply because the level of athleticism has evolved as well as the rule accomodating the game. Roughing the passer, holding, false start? Different era, different climate.

I find it hard to believe Tom Landry is getting no love.

Lombardi was a good coach, sure, but he had a super SUPER stacked team. And yes, the real test for Belichek will be to see if he can live without his Co-ordinators. Anyone remember his tenure in Cleveland?

Yea, I THOUGHT NOT.

Belichik was burried by the team before he could even get anything under way though because he cut aging hero Bernie Kozar. He is however responsable for the Ravens getting Ray Lewis as he made the deal with San Fran and then had Lewis on his board(which the team went by) when he was fired.
