Guest Report post Posted May 11, 2002 Oddy books…… King of the Ring 2000 Original card: Rock/Kane/Undertaker Vs Triple H/Shane/Vince – Whoever got the pin won the title. King of the Ring tournament: Quarter Finals: Angle Vs Jericho Bull Buchanan Vs Crash Holly Eddie Guerrero Vs Val Venis Rikishi Vs Benoit Semi Finals: Angle Vs Crash Val Venis Vs Rikishi Final: Angle Vs Rikishi Tag Team Title Elimination: Too Cool © Vs Edge/Christian Vs T & A Vs The Hardyz Tag Team Tables/Dumpster Match: X – Pac/Road Dogg Vs The Dudleys Hardcore Title Evening Gown Match: Pat Patterson Vs Brisco I didn’t like this event. It could have, even should have been a lot better. Here are my problems with it: - Benoit and Jericho were eliminated in the Quarter finals, while Crash Holly and Val Venis progressed to the semi finals. - With Benoit and Jericho eliminated everyone new angle would win it. - Bull Buchanan was in it. - The Dudleys Vs X – Pac/Road Dogg feud sucked and there was no need to continue it on from Judgement day. - The six man tag world title match didn’t appeal to me in any way - Patterson Vs Brisco in an evening gown match. Enough said. - Basically the whole card sucked and not one match was above average. So this is the event booked my way, with the same title changes and angles so the next PPV (Fully Loaded 2000) can stay the same as it was. King of the Ring 2000 – Oddy’s Way: The PPV opens with a video package highlighting the fatal four way match that headlines the show, The Rock Vs Triple H Vs The Undertaker Vs Kane. JR and The King welcome us to King of the Ring 2000. King of the Ring Quarter Final: Kurt Angle Vs Tazz The rivalry stems from Tazz’s debut win over Kurt Angle from Royal Rumble, in which he broke Angle’s undefeated streak The Finish: Tazz gets Angle in the Tazzmission. He holds it on for around 15 seconds. Angle looks as if he’s going to tap but manages to break the hold with an angleslam, although he didn’t hit it with full force. Angle, still suffering the effects of the tazzmission slowly crawls over to make the cover. 1….2… no! Tazz kicks out at the last second. Angle gets back up and hits the angleslam this time with full force and this time getting the three. King of the Ring Quarter Final: Rikishi Vs Val Venis This match is continuing the rivalry started after Judgement Day, which continued on through to Fully Loaded. The Finish: T & A (Test and Albert) interfere on behalf of Val (Val was in a stable with them along side Trish at the time) but Too Cool make the save and the two teams brawl to the back. Trish runs to the ring and slaps Rikishi. Rikishi is angered, and Val try’s to clothesline him from behind but Rikishi moves and Val hits Trish by mistake. Val comes back at Rikishi but Rikishi catches Val with a Samoan drop and drags Val over to the corner and gets a bonzi drop for the win. Rikishi Vs Angle in the first semi final. Post Match: Trish recovering from being knocked down inadvertently by Val crawls to the corner to rest. Rikishi sees her and gives her a stink face. As he completes it Val is back up and attacks him. He gets a chair and repeatedly hits the fallen Rikishi as Trish looks on laughing. Backstage: Too Cool and T & A are brawling backstage. Tazz arrives with a chair and knocks each man out. He looks into the camera and says “The mood is about to change, the path of destruction has begun!” King of the Ring Quarter Final: Chris Benoit Vs Eddie Guerrero The battle between two former radicals. The Finish: Guerrero climbs to the top rope and goes for the frog splash but Benoit moves. Benoit applies the crossface and Eddie taps. Backstage: Rikishi and Too Cool are being treated too after their two separate attacks. Rikishi says he will meet Angle in the semi final and will deal with Venis later. Too Cool say they will be able to defend their tag titles later. King of the Ring Quarter Final: Chris Jericho Vs X – Pac The last quarter final, the winner meeting Benoit later on in the night. The Finish: With X – Pac on the receiving end, Road Dogg attempts to interfere. However Jericho knocks him down and sets him up for the walls of Jericho. X – Pac is now back up and goes to attack Jericho from behind, but Jericho instead of putting Road Dogg in the walls of Jericho, slingshots him into X – Pac. Jericho hits the Lionsault for the win. It’s Jericho Vs Benoit in the second semi final later tonight. Backstage The Rock is interviewed. He says the tonight he will walk WWF champion. Hardcore Title Match: Crash Holly © Vs Saturn Saturn gets the win. With the 24/7 rules, Steve Blackman runs in and hits Saturn with a kendo stick and wins the title. Hardcore Holly is out next and gets the Falcon Arrow on Blackman for the win. Crash then rolls up Hardcore for the three and runs off with the title before anyone can pin him. Saturn, Blackman and Hardcore Holly then brawl. Backstage: Vince, Shane, Steph and DX are backstage. Stephanie is annoyed at X – Pac not defeating Jericho, but she believes that Benoit will defeat Jericho, just like he has done in the previous two pay per views. King of the Ring Semi Final: Angle Vs Rikishi Angle works on the injured back and legs of Rikishi which were injured at the hands of Val Venis earlier on. Angle gets the angleslam for the win. King of the Ring Semi Final: Benoit Vs Jericho The two have been rivals since Wrestlemania and the two continue in a match to determine who will meet Angle in the final. The Finish: Jericho hits the lionsault for the three. Backstage: Stephanie cannot believe that Jericho made it to the final. Tag Team Title Four Way Elimination Match: Too Cool © Vs The Hardyz Vs Edge/Christian Vs The Dudleys: The Hardys are eliminated first after Matt is pinned following a 3 – D. The Dudleys are next to go after a impaler from Christian puts Bubba down for the count. Finally Edge and Christian win clean after Edge spears Scotty for the three count. King of the Ring Final: Angle Vs Jericho The Finish: Jericho goes for the lionsault but Stephanie, who came down to the ring earlier on slaps him. Jericho recovers and goes for Stephanie, but Angle sneaks up behind and gets the Angleslam and becomes King of the Ring. Post match: Angle and Stephanie hug and celebrate. Triple H is angry at what he sees, Angle and his wife hugging. Vince calms him down and tells him he has a job to do now. A video package is shown highlighting the rivalry between The Undertaker, Triple H, The Rock and Kane. WWF World Title Fatal Four Way Match: Triple H © Vs The Rock Vs The Undertaker Vs Kane: The Finish: Kane clotheslines Triple H out of the ring. Kane gets the chokeslam on the Rock. 1….2… no! The pin attempt is broken up by Kane’s brother and tag partner The Undertaker. Kane gets up and stares down Undertaker. ‘Taker mouths the words “Everyman for himself” and gestures the belt around his waste. Kane goes to punch him but ‘Taker blocks it and fires back with some punches of his own. The Undertaker gets the last ride on Kane and makes the cover. 1…..2…. no! It’s broken up by Triple H who has re – entered the ring. Triple H pedigrees Undertaker. 1……2…. no! The cover is broken up by The Rock. The Rock gives the Rock Bottom to Triple H. 1….2….3! The Rock wins the world title and poses with the belt as King of the Ring 2000 comes to an end. Feedback?
Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted May 11, 2002 Good stuff, keep it up. Maybe list how long the matches last and maybe give them star ratings (REALISTIC star ratings though)
