Guest Anglesault Report post Posted May 11, 2002 Edwin MacPhisto Smackdown Group: Smarks Wrestling Federation Posts: 557 Joined: Feb. 2002 Posted: May 11 2002,20:55 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hidey-ho, Mr. Anglesault. I'm Edwin MacPhisto, or at least that's my board name, and I'm a member of the Smarks Wrestling Federation, that nebulous little zone that's down at the bottom of the boards. Basically, a couple of us have been reading through your fed, or your thread, rather, the whole OAOAST thing, and we noticed that you have some pretty good writers. We're always looking to make our fed bigger, better, and more varied, and we were wondering if you guys might be interested in joining up or running some sort of "inter-promotional" angle thing with one of our leagues, the SJL. We're a match-based fed, meaning that each of the wrestlers in a certain match write a version of the match, with a common match marker choosing the best match as the winner and posting it on the final version of our shows, Metal and Crimson. It's a ridiculously fun thing, and we've had well over 100 members come and go over the year and a half we've been in existence. We had our start over at the IGN boards, and came to TheSmarks after IGN went all-pay, so it's been going on for a while. Altogether, it's a really fun thing, and we think that you and some of the guys in your fed might have a good time with it. If you're at all interested at finding out more, I'd encourage you to check out our boards, go to the JL forum, and read through a few shows and maybe the "Joining Information" thread. If you browse around you'll get a feel for how it all works, and maybe want to get involved. If we did run an interpromotional deal or a merger or something, we could work out all the technicalities then, but for now I just wanted to get the idea out on the table. Check it out, and then let me know what you think! You can either PM me or hit me up on AIM at Friar Funk. Until next time... -edwin
Guest Report post Posted May 11, 2002 Where do all of our backstage segments, and promos fit in? Where does the Dungeon of Doom fit in?
Guest Report post Posted May 11, 2002 They RP, so we would have to. They write matches about 2000 lines long too. I'm not sure if we would want to do that.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted May 11, 2002 I kinda agree with Angle-Plex. Then again, if you all wanted to do the "inter-promotion" deal...You could do what the WWE didn't do with the WCW invasion. Have their "brand style" of Roleplay vs. your "brand style," which is the way you guys currently do things. That way the OAOAST team wouldn't have to write 2000 word matches because it isn't their style. Who would of thought a thread to keep Anglesault from throwing ::beltshots:: turned into something that might become an official e-fed?
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted May 12, 2002 ehh..we're a parody thing so I don't know how well we'd fit in with them.
Guest Report post Posted May 12, 2002 I'm sure we could find a way to do it. Right now I think we have to orgonize our own fed better though.
Guest Big Poppa Popick Report post Posted May 12, 2002 were just starting to get organized...maybe in 2 months
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted May 12, 2002 Yeah, no offense to them, but I think we're doing fine as is. I'm sure they have just as much fun as us...but if we did an angle with them, we'd probably have to sell our injuries for longer than a post or two, lol. Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted May 12, 2002 I'd love to see it happen, but since I don't know how to write matches anyway, I doubt I could write a 2000 word one... I can write bad-ass promos though, or at least I have in the past. Plus, our thread is basically a parody thread (you know, we have monsters who no-sell and eat people, falling off cliffs and buildings... damn, it's like if Undertaker & Kane did backyard wrestling!). Not to say it couldn't work, because again, I'd love it to, and if there was a way I could help, I'd learn how to write a 2000-word match (or how about writing a match period) but it's "conflicting styles"
Guest Insane Clown Dan Report post Posted May 12, 2002 Writing matches is a lot easier than it sounds... hell, i can do it. That says something, doesn't it? =P Just read other people's matches, try and get some advice from SWFers if you feel you need it, and get a feel for it. And bullshit like that. Of course, reading the SWF's joining thread usually clears up all of those matters... Who would of thought a thread to keep Anglesault from throwing ::beltshots:: turned into something that might become an official e-fed? LOL, we had a thread similar to that, that started on IGN. It started with someone pulling a scoop slam out of nowhere.
Guest Muzz Report post Posted May 14, 2002 Just a question, how long as the OAOAST thing been going on? It's looks a lot of fun, and it is funny how these things start.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted May 14, 2002 Just a question, how long as the OAOAST thing been going on? It's looks a lot of fun, and it is funny how these things start. It's been around for about 1-2 months. The thread was created because Anglesault & others started giving ::beltshots:: to people in the WWE folder. So I told them to go make a thread and keep your ::beltshots:: there. The OAOAST was nothing special at first, until they started booking events. They were a little dis-organize at first. Now they're better organize.
