Guest Report post Posted May 12, 2002 Thus far, Brock Lesnar has done the following: Debuted, throwing around Maven and Goldust. Threw The Hardyz around. Threw Rikishi around. Threw Hurricane and Molly around. None of these men are in a title picture, and as much as I hate to say so, the biggest impact Brock had was against The Hardyz. With Paul Heyman, who is a great mouthpiece and manager (I feel he should be announcing on RAW, however...), I expected big things. But WWE totally blew it. And it's all because of this STUPID, STUPID SPLIT. RAW and Smackdown are stuck in the problem the split creates. In baseball there are two divisions, American and National. Due to cutting the number of teams you can play in half, you'll see, for example, The Braves Vs. The Phillies some 15 times, etc. a year. On RAW, we get Austin/Bradshaw Vs. NWO every week. Booker Vs. RVD twice. Brock Vs. Stasiak twice. On Smackdown, ouch...we've had Tajiri and Kidman many times...Billy/Chuck Vs. Maven/Snow like 3-4 times...HHH/Jericho/Angle/Edge variations MANY times...it's boring!!! The split causes some talent to never face each other...that's why BASEBALL SUCKS and why the current WWE product SUCKS. Back to my point, that's what's killing Brock. He worked a boring match with Jeff Hardy at Backlash. He worked a squash with Matt Hardy. He worked a squash with Stasiak, twice. This sucks...but actually, maybe it's Brock who sucks. Brock reminded be of old WWF(e) favorite "THE WARLORD" on the last RAW. A slow, boring powerhouse that used bearhugs and shoulder slams and powerslams. Somehow, the net creamed its pants for Brock when they first saw him. I say "BROCK~!" just absolutely "SUCKS~!". Sorry, but I'm not the only one starting to come around. Or did my ears play tricks on me Monday? "Goldberrrrgggg.....Goldbergggg....".
Guest El Psycho Diablo Report post Posted May 12, 2002 I don't really think it's Brock's fault. I'd like to see what he could do, without them trying to make him Golberg 2. We've seen this "certified monster" crap for Kane, Albert, Bull, Rikishi, probably Test, UT, Big Show, and god only knows who else. Nobody is going to care about him if he only goes out and throws a little guy around for two minutes. Read the names I listed, and out of those, how many REALLY succeeded? One. Perhaps two. If they want Brock over, they'll actually have to grow "testicular fortitude". Do something NEW with him. That's also what they could do with everybody else. Mix it up a little. If someone won't work with another wrestler, then punt them down to OVW. Making people work for those oh so prescious ME spots would provide better wrestling..and more entertaining TV. -Shiro
Guest The Man in Blak Report post Posted May 12, 2002 Eh, they're beating the good horse to death. Nothing new. The thing about Lesnar is that all of the internet marks (myself included) basically went crazy over the guy by sheer hearsay - "Hey, that guy does a Shooting Star Press~!" "Hey, that guy is supposed to be the next big thing!" "Hey, everybody in OVW is saying this guy is '1337 gAwdly". Same thing, in and out. And he came out and he broke the Hardyz. And Rikishi. For some reason, I just don't expect to see the IWC frantically running to defend either of those guys. But now we've got the "eyes are bigger than our stomach" deal, and the comparisons to Goldberg and Warlord are just glowing at us, though comparing a NCAA Wrestling Champion to an angry jew and a walking steroid is a little unfair. Just watch - in the coming weeks from now, hatin' Brock will be the '1337 thing to do and the IWC will flock to it like iron filings to a magnet.

Guest El Psycho Diablo Report post Posted May 12, 2002 I know it's controversial..and even SCARY.. but how about.. (hides behind a trash can lid) Letting Brock..wrestle? Since he's an amateur wrestling champion and all..how about having him out-wresltle a few guys, in addition to power moves? It's worth a shot. Play up the fact of what he is. Have people start challenging him. Build him up for a while, and have him face one of the two that consider themselves better wrestlers than anyone else - Angle and Benoit. (Now I wait for the Angle Marks to come kill me for that.) Heyman standing there screaming "Hurt him!" isn't going to do it. -Shiro
Guest Report post Posted May 12, 2002 At least Goldberg was exciting in the beginning. Yeah, I know, I know...he didn't have a huge moveset and much technical prowess, however, I'll still argue that before he got an ego and REALLY sloppy, Goldberg was one of the most exciting wrestlers to watch during that time period. A typical Goldberg match for me, when he first debuted was: "Wow, Nitro sucks tonight. Here comes Mortis. He's cool looking, decent wrestler, wish they'd push him. Oh, shit, Goldberg's wrestling him! This guy's fun....HOLY SHIT!!! HE SPEARED HIM TA HELLLLLL!!! Yeah, Jackhammer, this is over...1..2...3." A typical Brock match for me is: "Wow, RAW sucks tonight. Here comes Matt Hardy. I hate him and his ugly, big chinned, sloppy boyfriend Amy Dum(b)as(s). Uh, oh, here comes Brock. This guy is jacked. And INTENSE~!. No sell, no sell. Oh, shoulderblocks in the corner. Yay. Picks him up. Stop screaming, Paul Heyman. Powerslam. Ok. Spinning face plant. Ok. Picks him up. Powerbomb. This is basic 80's jobber offense. 1.2.3. Ok." I dunno. At least Goldberg had innovative, exciting offense. Kinda. it woke the crowd up. Nitro back then was much better than this shit we have now, anyways.
