I'm looking forward to it as Michael Myers has always r0x0red my s0x0rs. Halloween is one of the best horror films ever, and although the rest of the series is nowhere near as good (granted, I haven't seen 'em all... but my friend who works at Hollywood and can thus rent any movie for free and I are going to have a Halloween marathon and watch ALL of them in order [even Season of the Witch ] to prepare for the upcoming one), this is already too much of a run-on sentence, so make your own conclusions as to what my ending was.

And you're right, I do want to see the movie. Even if it wasn't a Halloween movie it has Busta Rhymes in it, and everyone knows rappers + horror movies = fun! Look at Bones! I just hope when the DVD comes out we get Busta on commentary, 'cuz they stiffed us with no Snoop OR Dre commentary on The Wash DVD...

Jimmy Bones is a bad-ass numbers runner who was betrayed by his boy and a dirty white cop. He comes back from the dead and gets revenge. Pretty simple movie, but there were some pretty good scenes in there, although I would've liked it a lot more if I'd have rented it for $3 instead of paying $9 to see it opening night (where my friend and I were the only white people in the theatre).

Speaking of rappers and horror movies: Apparently Nelly will have a role in the upcoming Return To Sleepaway Camp! I didn't think that the movie would have anyone with much "name value", but supposedly Nelly, Vincent Pastore (Big Pussy from Sopranos!) and Evan Farmer (Jerry from MTV's 2Gether) have signed on, according to IMDB.

I read a story on a reputable site that said the studio wasn't pleased with any of the movie and had decided to edit what they had into a movie and release it direct to video but then Jamie Lee convinced the studio to let them reshoot and keep it as a theater movie. Now i don't know about you guys but that's not the type i thing i want to hear about a movie. The fact that the studio was ready to cut their losses and release a glued together version direct to video shows that the movie had major problems. I don't think the studio would let them reshoot the whole movie so they had to reshoot and shoot new scenes to take a mess a movie and turn it into something worth the price of a theater release. That doesn't exactly bode well for a movie being good. Not to mention the ultra lame and very unoriginal storyline. Kids win a contest to stay the night in Mikey's childhood home and they are doing a internet webcast of their adventure. Kids in a building that attracts evil hmm well i've "never" seen that before. So they are just using a combination of "Night of the Demons", "Kolobos", and "Blair Witch 2" with a touch of the tv show Big Brother. Well now that sounds like a cornucopia of suck. Oh yeah one last thing that doesn't bode well for the movie, Busta Rhymes will be trying to act in it. The only interesting thing this movie has going for itself is Mikey Myers being in it.

Jamie Lee showed that she should've been the real star of the movie, instead of the generic Screamagers who carried the bulk of the running time. And they really, really tried to kill Michael for good. And now they've gone and ruined that, too.

Guest evenflowDDT Posted May 14, 2002 Report Posted May 14, 2002 As for Halloween 6, I've heard the legendary "producer's cut" that was never released officially (BOOTLEG~!) is actually a pretty strong movie and makes a lot more sense than the theatrical version. I also agree that the original Halloween was good enough that it didn't deserve any sequels, but come on, this is the horror genre we're talking about here! Even C.H.U.D. and Basket Case have sequels... Also, I may be wrong on this, but wasn't Halloween 2 originally planned as a direct to video sequel? Or did they not have direct to video movies back then?
Guest El Satanico Posted May 14, 2002 Report Posted May 14, 2002 direct to video wasn't much of a market back then. The cost back then alone would've ruled it out. Late 70's VCRs were $800 and pre recorded tapes were over a hundred to buy. So i'm assuming it was always planned to be a theater movie. I'd also assume that the sequel was planned from the start since it had same people working on it and continued off the end of the original.
