Guest Report post Posted May 12, 2002 Can someone help me out and tell me what the hell this move is? I know Sasuke primarily does it, but how do you do it? Thanks
Guest The Great Wesuke Report post Posted May 13, 2002 He basically does a handspring backflip over the ropes and to the floor. Picture running towards the rope and doing a handspring so you land with your back to the ropes, then a backflip over them. He sometimes throws in a twist or a sommersault as he goes over the ropes. Also... Hakushi (Jinsei Sinzaki) has also performed this move in the WWF. Miguel Perez Jr. pulled it off once on Nitro.
Guest Report post Posted May 13, 2002 Kronus did it ECW's Barely Legal PPV, didn't he?
Guest The Great Wesuke Report post Posted May 13, 2002 Yea he did.
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted May 13, 2002 There's another version that has a moonsualt block suicda instead of a twisting senton suicda.

Guest The Great Wesuke Report post Posted May 13, 2002 Or in regular english ala Dusty Rhodes: A flippidy-floppidy over da ropedies! Right out der onto his belly-welly!
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted May 13, 2002 I guess Dace meant that Sasuke or somebody also does one where he lands chest-to-chest with his target, instead of crashing into them ass-first ala a senton maneuver.
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted May 13, 2002 Yes.. the Sasuke Specials 1 and 2. One ends as a Moonsault over the ropes into the opp. The other twists into a senton onto the opp. This one is also know as the Flying Space (in Japan is a term for a cartwheel into a back flip into a move) Tiger Drop. Guest The Great Wesuke Report post Posted May 13, 2002 So in other words... Space Flying Tiger Drop = Handspring moonsault over the ropes. Flying Space Tiger Drop = Handspring twisting senton over the ropes. right?
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted May 13, 2002 Nope, that's just different wording to the same move (Handspring twisting senton over the ropes). Both of them can also be called Sasuke Specials... but there is no other name for the Handspring moonsault over the ropes as far as I know... and as people know.. I know my moves. Iron Mike Teny called the handspring moonsault over the ropes the space flying tiger drop. Iron Mike knows his moves too. Joey Styles called the same thing when Kronus did it in ECW. I'm not doubting you though, so we will leave it at that... this is more a subject for the foreign folder anyway. I still think a handspring moonsault can go by the same name since it is essentially the same move.
Guest Report post Posted May 14, 2002 Ahhh...yes. Thanks guys. I remember seeing that on the NJPW J-Cup 1994, I just didn't know that was it. Thanks!
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted May 14, 2002 Styles is know for his move mess ups.. such as calling jumping and sit out powerbombs Tiger Bombs (there's no such move) and calling Swinging DDT's Tornado DDT's (different actions). Rewording a moves name won't make it a different move.
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted May 15, 2002 Or if you're Tony Schiavone 95% of the moves are "sidewalk slams"

Rewording a moves name won't make it a different move. Indeed announcers do mess up the names of moves, but (and no offence) I would believe someone like Styles before you. Yes, I don't know you... but I do know that Styles is someone involved in the industry, as is Tenay. It's all nitpicking anyway, and that is something I've never been that fond of in the first place. Hell the "proper" way to pronounce suplex is su-play, but that has been changed over the years.
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted May 16, 2002 I've been a ref in my time.. so I'm technically an insider aswell. You don't know me, but you can ask around on the board.. I've proved I know my stuff on moves. I presonally like nitpicking.. it's a habit and a hobby Anyway.. Hope I get to know you more.. that's half the point of boards anyway.. to exchange views, and get to know other peoples views on a subject (and to a lesser extent the people themselves)
Guest The Great Wesuke Report post Posted May 17, 2002 Hehehe... well, good to get to know you as well. Glad we... *sorta* answered the space flying tiger drop question together.
