His only looked slightly irritating rather than extremely painful, so why not give it someone who could do it justice; Jericho or Storm could work that shit properly. Or give it to Angle. Guest Report post Posted May 13, 2002 I wasn't saying that the ankle lock couldn't be a legit finisher--it once was--but since the WWF has shown everyone and their mother countering it within a matter of seconds, the ankle lock has lost that certain menace. As for the Sharpshooter, I think that eventually someone will pick up the move and probably do it 20x better than the Rock ever did, but its not that big of a deal. Actually, for a bit of fantasy booking (since I'm listening to The Never Ending Story theme, maybe this wish will come true and Wrestling Fantasia will be saved!), why not bring back Shamrock for one match against Angle, submissions only. Bill it as a battle of the Ankle locks, until Angle in desperation pulls out the Sharpshooter and the win! I'd pay to see that! OK, not really, but it'd be cool. Let him have the Crossface, the Sharpshooter, and perhaps the Dragon Sleeper with bodyscissors as all potentially fatal moves, and get the fans familiar with them, so that when someone reverses out of one, he can just slap on another.
