The Decemberists 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2005 Quotes from http://www.ajpw.puroresufan.com/ There have been some report around smaller news sites that Toshiaki Kawada has left All Japan. Nothing on All Japan's homepage, or the big league sites as of yet. However, I do have some excerpts from this supposed press conference. Kawada stated that he had graduated from All Japan today and asserted his independence. He stated that he wasn't a freelancer, but was independent and would still work All Japan shows. He also said something that was kind of shocking. He stated that since his contract with Baba had expired, he didn't have a contract with All Japan, and stayed with All Japan anyway because of his love for the promotion. Finally, he stated that he stayed in All Japan to defend it, and that All Japan would be safe because Kojima is at the top, and he stated that he would carry All Japan with him wherever he goes. - This is from a source that's not the big and credible sites around Japan, take it lightly.. but seriously, I don't really know where to go with it because no one's reporting anything of credibility. Lots of news for All Japan. Now that Toshiaki Kawada has officially left the promotion, his follower, Taichi Ishikari has decided to leave on the same path as Kawada with Kawada taking a member of All Japan's youth movement. Kawada stated at the All Japan offices that he though President Muto was holding the most interesting wrestling out there and thought that the fans could be satisfied with the organization. He then went further to call All Japan appealable and stated that Kojmia had grown up in front of the All Japan crowd. He also stated that losing his Triple Crown was the deciding factor in becoming independent (because he hates the name freelancer) and this was a graduation-like affair and would always continue to enter the All Japan rings. Erm, is this a work or shoot or what? Anyone know what's going on?
SinToxic 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2005 Yeh I found this weird but if it had to be done now was the time. I think without the TC title Kawada has less things to look forward to in the AJ roster which is growing with not so stellar talent. I'm guessing this is what Kawada really wanted, start working major matches for whatever shows he chooses to. This might also be a strong indicator that Kojima will be in for a strong reign. Time will tell.

SinToxic 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2005 well kawada had been a freelancer in just about all but name for a while so its not exactly suprising news Aside for few matches in NJ (2-3 last year) and Hustle he was full time AJ worker, so I wouldnt call that freelancing.
