I have a question:  when has WWF ever featured a drowning?  I know Austin threw Rock in the river (or was it the other way around?) and the near drownings that have ocurred during the countless mud/gravy/swimming ladies matches. But I don't recall the commentators saying, "OH MY GAWD!!  HE'S GONNA DROWN THAT HOSS!  SOMEBODY GET OUT HERE AND STOP HIM, DAMMIT!!!"

 

So I don't see where that lawyer got his defense strategy from.

 

Plus, isn't the WWF suing Lionel Tate's lawyers for slander?

Pro wrestling came up last year in another Florida trial. An attorney for Lionel Tate argued that the 14-year-old boy killed his 6-year-old playmate accidentally while practicing wrestling moves he had seen on television and video. Tate was sent to prison for life.

A mentally retarded 14 year old is sent to prison for life because he accidently killed a friend while play fighting.

I never heard anything about Tate being retarded. Maybe he had one of those attention disorders or something, but he wasn't flat-out retarded. Even still, that boy was like 175 pounds or something. I can't remember the exact number, but he was huge for his age. Retarded or not, he knew he was fucking up, slamming a girl that small. I'm not saying that this case is an example of Natural selection, but rather the need for it in this society. However the people who really need to be shot is whoever is responsible for the lawsuit.

 

As for your other question- I have no morally relativist qualms about this subject so yes, I would prefer it if stupid genes (like the idiots in the street) were not propogated.

I can sympathasize with this - on my block there are always a bunch of kids playing in the street...apparently living near the street means they can set up soccer and football games on the street and make all the cars stop until they realize a car is waiting.  There's a freaking park like 50 feet from where they play, and another one about three or four minutes down.  

 

There's another house where the kids like to sit on skateboards and shoot themselves out into the street...their house is at the top of the hill so you can't see them until it's too late...I hope their parents are watching.

According to the prosecuting attorney in the Tate case, Tate changed his story five or six times - only in the third version was wrestling mentioned.  However, the defense attorney decided to use the "wrestling defense", even though the defense's own experts testified that wrestling would not have accounted for all of the dead girl's injuries.  The only place where the wrestling defense succeeded was in the media - Tate was convicted.  

 

This new lawyer is probably trying to make a name for himself as well - to hell with his client, forgive the parents who obviously fucked up - and use professional wrestling as a scapegoat, the sinister reason behind this brutal murder.  I wouldn't be surprised if the PTC helped with the media blitz in this - they did the same thing in the Tate trial too.
