Recommended Posts

Guest converge241

so whats the best one(s) youve ever seen..

id vote for memento , lenny reveals hes been manipulating himself

Arlington Road , the bomb is in the trunk of the guy trying to stop the real bomber, and he gets framed

and Sixth Sense, yeah hes dead and it is kind of obvious, but if youre not "looking for it" it can slip by you

Jacobs Ladder...although it s not so much a twist as a great ending.

Sleepaway Camp.  Many horror fans will back me up on this.  The ending will stick with you, forever.

Memento did kick ass...great idea for the movie to go in reverse.

Usual Suspects...c'mon

Arlington Road of course...the heel wins!

Beawre Children at Play...awful little movie...but the last few minutes are the greatest/funniest/sickest thing ever put on video.

Planet of the Apes (You maniacs! You blew it up! Damn You! Damn you all to hell!!!!)...oldschool, the new one blew.

My parents were pissed off at the end of Arlington Road.

What about the Usual Suspects?

Fight Club!!! Great twist, I also liked how the book and the movie had different endings which made for yet another twist of sorts after watching/reading one then the other.

It probably isn't considered a twist but the John Coffey character getting killed in The Green Mile was a bit of a shock since most expected it to have a happy,feel-good climax. Some hated the ending but I thought it was great and sad,the book and movie are among my favorites if not my very favorites.

Seven, Psycho, Fight Club, Planet of the Apes, Dracula 2000 gets a few points for their explination as to who Dracula was, the Howling, and if I think of more I'll name them

Pretty much what everybody's said: Sixth Sense, Usual Suspects (that one ruled), Memento, original Planet of the Apes.

I'll mention a new one: Unbreakable.

And what about Empire Strikes Back?!?

The ending itself was shocking yes....but what really stuck with me is that the credits started to roll while the still of Angela "exposed" was still on.  Almost as if it was suspended in time.

Dames - or is it Diana?

How about One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest?  Well, I considered it a twist...

I always thought that the ending to Alien Resurrection was a bit of a twist...

See, Ripley (clone Ripley) was part alien (as can be deduced from her acidic blood, and the fact that the aliens won't attack her). What was Ripley's one goal in Aliens and Alien 3? Keep the aliens from getting to Earth. And now what's on Earth? Clone Ripley, who is PART ALIEN. They're one Earth now, people... :D

Ginger Snaps still takes a few viewings to fully understand the ending...hell, I still don't get it. Did she just look at all of the pictures of her and her sister together "having fun" (heh...) and realize that she just killed her only friend?

I didn't expect them to give Randle a frontal-lobe lobotomy (sp?).

I didn't see the movie, I read the book. I thought you were going to mention the mute guy being able to talk.

That was a suprise, but I wouldn't call it a shocking twist.  I never read the book, but I heard the movie was better because unlike the book, it isn't only from the Chief's point of view.

Can someone just spoil the ending of Sleepaway Camp for me?  I have absolutely no desire to see the film, but you've intrigued me about the ending.

Unbreakable had a crappy ending in my book.  Or rather, I hate the text they scrolled on there at the end.....too forced.  Like Shamalyan (or however it's spelled) wanted it to be a happy ending.  They should have ended it right after Glass's admission.  Just bam, the twist, then the ending credits.

I'm going to go with a movie nobody's seen, this disturbing 1970's film called The Baby.  Upon multiple viewings, the ending is list of a shock because you notice a lot of OBVIOUS hints that make no sense upon first viewing so they're ignored, but on first viewing it's a "whoa!" twist.

Yea, like I'm going to spoil it here ;)

Also, I know nobody is going to agree with me on this, but I didn't see the ending of Freaks coming the first time, even though they GIVE IT AWAY ON THE FRIGGIN' BOX COVER! Argh... that's terrible.  I'm also going to admit that, as silly as it seems now, the first time I saw the ending it gave me nightmares for a couple nights, something that has only happened with one or two movies in my entire life.

SLEEPAWAY CAMP SPOILER WARNING!!!!

For those who wanted to know:

The basic plot is as follows:

Two young children are playing on a boat with their father, a son and a daughter.  The boat tips over, sending all 3 into the water.   The father tries to protect the children, but he and one of his children are struck by another boat in the water.

Years later, a girl named Angela is off to summer camp with her cousin, Ricky.  We find out Angela is the surviving child from the boat accident.  Angela has been traumatized by the accident, and probably from living with her freaky aunt, who is a woman, but looks like a male actor in drag (seriously, it's not, but the lady does look that bad).

At the camp, Angela faces many tormentors, with the exception of Paul, Ricky's friend who takes a liking to her.  Before you know it, there's a killer on the loose at camp, and everyone from the kids to the counselors are suspects.

Fast forward to the end.  Angela and Paul agree to meet by the beach.  The killer has already struck tonight, and the counselors are out searching for any straggling kids.  They come up on the beach, where we see Angela humming, with Paul's head in her lap.  As they come up behind Angela, we cut to a flashback sequence, showing us the big secret...back to present day, and Angela stands up, dropping Paul's head (decapitation, obviously)  Angela is the killer!  But that's not the shock, because Angela stands up, and we get a full view of her in all her glory...and...SHE'S A HE!

That's right, during the movie, we find out Angela's father was actually gay, and after he was killed, she was sent to live with the aunt.  Legend has it that while it's not said, it's hinted that the aunt could actually be the father's "lover", and because the aunt already had a son, Ricky, they turned Peter into a girl (Angela).  It's really confusing at times, but the movie is worth a look, at least once.   You can also check out info on IMDB.com or by going to SleepawayCampMovies.com

So basically Sleepaway Camp stole the thunder of Crying Game years before it happened?  Awesome.

I should have had Usual Suspects on my list especially with the double twist and ESPECIALLY  after getting the dvd for my birthday..

Arlington Road was awesome because the movie seemed so a typical.. the insane teacher/parent/wife/dog who is really evil, but no one belives the protagonist and usually everything is tied up all nice and neat..but it wasnt..im glad i tried it when it came on cable

i cant believe this many people know about sleepaway camp!!

wow

Though it wasn't a hugely elaborate twist, I really liked the ending to 'The Score.' Overall I really liked that movie. Brando & DeNiro are gold when they're on screen together. Throw in Edward Norton, and it was a pretty damn good movie.

Hey, it's rare (around here at least) that I've seen and like the movies I do. A lot of ppl I know say Rush Hour 2 is the best movie ever...

So no, I haven't gotten around to seeing One Flew yet...

Thought of another one, although I can't remember the name. This kid saw a spaceship landing in the woods next to his house while he was in bed, and his Dad went to check it out, then he started acting weird, and had a bandage on the back of his neck. Then the townsfolk started acting weird, and all the weird ones had bandages on their necks. Eventually he and his teacher or something find out that aliens are taking over so they sneak into the ship to find out something and he wakes up to find it was a dream...then the spaceship lands in the woods next to his house. Anyone remember the name to that movie, cause that freaked me out when I was little
