Guest Report post Posted May 14, 2002 I noticed they're announcing Guerreo at 228 lbs now. That looks to be closer to the truth than the 205 they had been previously announcing him as, but I still wonder how accurate that is. Then there's Jeff Hardy. Last week, the guy was announced as weighing in at 215. Now, Jeff's never broken the deuce mark in his life, I know, but the following struck me when watching Raw last night: After Heyman challenged the Hardys to match at the PPV, they both took off their shirts, and I realized that Jeff and I have exactly the same build. I'm 6'0", and weigh 172 lbs, and no one's gonna look at me and mistake me for a pro wrestler. So why do they lie like this? I can understand in the case of someone like Brock Lesnar (I can't tell the difference between 275 and 295 by looks alone), but when they're adding 30+ pounds to the cruiserweights, I gotta cry foul. Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted May 14, 2002 To be fair, Guerrero is a lot 'bigger' than he used to be. Much like HHH.
Guest Report post Posted May 14, 2002 I understand that with Guerrero; the lying about Jeff Hardy's weight is the one that bothers me. What does the WWF think we are? Stupid? Oh, wait....
Guest Report post Posted May 14, 2002 They've always lied about heights AND weights. All the way back to the "80's boom" even. It's nothing new. Why they do it is another matter. Maybe so that the wrestlers seem bigger than the average viewier? Which is stupid, since most of them are anyways. But still...
Guest buffybeast Report post Posted May 14, 2002 Incadenza, you mentioned that you were six feet tall. Is that Jeff's height, too? I figured the Hardyz' to be around 6'1 or 6'2. I assumed that Jeff probably weighed in between 185-195 pounds.
Guest Report post Posted May 14, 2002 buffy--Jeff's 5'10"; Matt's 6'1" (supposedly). A couple of years ago Jeff might've weighed in the 185-195 pound range, but he's looking way thinner now.

I mean really, I'm 5'11 and I can't imagine Jeff being shorter than me. Of course, I felt the same weigh about Shawn Michaels until I met him and he had to look up at me. Hehe. Guest Report post Posted May 14, 2002 5'10? Are you sure? I mean really, I'm 5'11 and I can't imagine Jeff being shorter than me. Well, according to the WWE website, he's actually 6'2". I can't recall where I read 5'10". That might be true, but the 215 pound thing is not.
Guest The Wicker Man Report post Posted May 15, 2002 the biggest exposure of these lies came when people went from ECW to the WWF... in ECW they would always be about 30 pounds lighter... then the following month in the WWF, they would miraculously put on 30 or 40 pounds. another thing.. Hogan looks NO different from over 10 years ago when he weighed in at 303lbs.. he is now billed as 275.. which is the same weight billed for Lesnar who appears to be twice the size of Hogan. I aint no doctor or dietician but there are plenty of untruths regarding weight in wrestling

Hogan looks like significantly smaller now than his initial Hulkamania run in the 80s and very early 90s. You can see it in his face and overall build. At least I think so. Guest Report post Posted May 15, 2002 Hogan's a lot more toned now than he was fifteen or so years ago. I can definitely believe he's lighter. But, for all wrestlers, the WWE appears to add 10-15 pounds on each of the heavyweights, and 20-40 pounds on the cruiserweights. As for those cruisers, look at Tajiri: the man looks exactly like he did in ECW, where he was always announced at 185 lbs. When he came to the WWF, he was suddenly 20 pounds heavier, with no visible gain. Then there's Jeff Hardy, whom, as I mentioned earlier, cannot possibly be more than 175, yet is listed at 215. Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted May 15, 2002 Well Andre the Giant was 8 feet tall and 600 pounds. I don't get how Jim Ross was talking about how overweight the Big Show was and had him sent to OVW to lose weight. He talked about how much weight he lost down there, and when Big Show came back, they were still talking about how he was 500 pounds and all of that. I know it's mostly lies, but don't try to tell the truth and lie at the same time.

Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted May 15, 2002 I thought the Big Show's actual weight since returning was about 450 but the wwe feels they needs to push him as a 500 pound monster everytime he walks down to the ring.

Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted May 17, 2002 Big Show is fat fuck. I'm sorry to say it like that, but that's the only way to put it. JR tried to talk about how much weight he lost, but he still looks like he can hold a child in his stomach. If Big Show lost all of that weight, where did it go? I don't see the need to lie about the sizes of the wrestlers. Why would Vince McMahon stand Andre the Giant on a platform and try to pass it off as if he was really that tall? Were we to believe Vince was a midget? Surely people would be able to figure out that he really wasn't that big once they saw him off of the platform and saw his height in relation to other things.
