Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted May 14, 2002 Now, this is really more of a personal gripe than anything else, but I get really irritated every time JR tries to put Molly over as some sort of evil human being because she, sweet merciful christ, likes to WEAR CLOTHES. Molly as a heel character is fine. With her new hair color, she looks a lot tougher than cute blonde Mighty Molly. I just sigh to myself when the commentators try to get her over as Satan's whore since she wears pants instead of a thong, when they could be paying attention to the fact that, you know, SHE FIGHTS DIRTY. Pants are no pants, the character's a bitch. Why not just look at it that way? I'm kind of surprised the usual interest groups haven't started railing into the WWE for this yet, but I guess it's not blatant enough to really be noticed. Meh. Thoughts? Am I onto something here, or are naked skeletons like Terri really our heroes?
Guest Report post Posted May 14, 2002 What, you mean you didn't know? According to Vince Misogynist, er... McMahon -- all women like to do is take off their clothes & make out with him, and any female who feels differently MUST be in the wrong. Seriously, Vince & Steph have some serious fucking issues. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if there was some serious incest going on in that family. *shudder*
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted May 14, 2002 I agree that calling attention to the fact that she has dignity and presenting that as a bad thing is the wrong approach, but they do occasionally have her say something negative to the other divas, and that is called attention to. But on the whole, you're right. Listening to the match last night you'd think having respect for yourself is a crime against humanity.
Guest Ripper Report post Posted May 14, 2002 Did we learn nothing from the Torrie Wilson/Tajari saga. Tajari was being evil for making her put on clothes, because in the real world, the only thing women really want is to be half naked. Huh....what do you mean that isn't true, Michael Cole said..... but Tajari was being a ass putting her in a robe and all.....but...did you see how happy she was to get half naked....but Tazz said..... Guest buffybeast Report post Posted May 14, 2002 Well, I just figured that WWF was taking a semi right to censor approach. Basically Terri has the right to wear as little clothes as she likes and have her ribs show through her skin like an Ethiopian. But yes, I did notice the attacks against Molly for wanting to cover up. I think if Heyman were on color it wouldn't be so bad. Everyone knows that Lawler is a pervert and JR isn't far behind him. Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted May 14, 2002 Yeah, I've gotten used to Lawler's perversity, it's old hat by now, but whenever JR says something allusive...it feels a bit dirtier. Fear the barbecue sauce...

Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted May 14, 2002 Didn't Ivory have a similiar gimmick a couple of years ago? The difference was that Ivory was a heel in the ring and the fans hated her for that, but now the fans hate Molly for wearing clothes. The only time Molly actually deserved all the shit JR was saying about her was after she threw Terri to floor.
Guest Report post Posted May 15, 2002 I think that whatever heel heat she has is from the fact that she's acting bitchy in and out of the ring. The fact that she isn't flashing her boobs all over the place is sort of the "icing" on the cake (in their minds). But...Regal? Shit, I hope they're not going in the direction of BF/GF. Couldn't they find a heel who is younger & cooler for her?
Guest Karnage Report post Posted May 15, 2002 JR and Cole point out the badness of heels for all the wrong reasons. I think its a rule for heels to always look weak and cheat, rather than being a tough badass...unless you are the Hardy Boys, Lita can interfere all the time with no DQ, but if someone attacks Lita, it's a bad thing. Guest raptor Report post Posted May 15, 2002 I think the intention of the angle/gimmick is that Molly's bad for forcing her views on other people. The announcers are just selling it wrong. Same with Tajiri/Torrie: he's the bad guy for forcing her to be a geisha. It has nothing to do with disrobement.

Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 16, 2002 Sure the Mcmahons are screwed in the head, but I actually like the way Molly is being a heel. The whole use of the "moral oppisite" or the rest of the world is interesting to watch in some way. It's like surreal or some shit. However keep in mind that this is't exactly a new thing. WWeee has been doing the whole "villians getting cheered while heroes get booed" thing for awhile now. Just look at Austin...there is no way that he should be portrayed as a "face" and he shouldn't be cheered at all. Also Angle is playing the role of clean cut and clean living poster boy hero and gets booed and portrayed as a villian. Nothing is as it should be in WWeee and it's been that way for some time now. Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted May 16, 2002 I say they ditch the women's division all together. They repeatedly try it and no one ever gives a flying fuck about anything the women do. They just waste roster spots and TV time.
Guest treble charged Report post Posted May 16, 2002 My favourite Cole quote from the Torrie/Tajiri angle is this: Cole: "Tajiri is lucky to have a girlfriend as hot as Torrie, he should treat her with more respect!" -Because, as we all know, the hotter you are, the more respect you deserve. Guest treble charged Report post Posted May 17, 2002 Another thing I don't get about the Torrie/Tajiri thing. Apparently, Torrie was embarrassed by the fact that she was covered up, so she shed her "embarrasment" by taking off her clothes. Aren't most people embarrassed being seen by thousands of people in their underwear?
Guest Report post Posted May 18, 2002 VINCE'S BILL OF RIGHTS FOR WOMEN 1 You have the freedom of speech and expression (as long as that freedom of expression is taking off your clothes, showing your "puppies" allowing The King to letch all over you or being Vince's "personal" assistatn 2 Okay Okay fine Stacy, you don't have to slip me any toungue when we kiss on camera, but it would be nice.... 3 You have the right to get plastic surgery on the WWF/E's checkbook

Aren't most people embarrassed being seen by thousands of people in their underwear? This is why I wish they had intelligent heel commentators who would actually point out stuff like this, instead of guys like Lawler and Tazz, who pretty much say the same things as their broadcast partners, only with more "attitude".
