Why in the hell did they do that

Recommended Posts

There was NO reason for her to have to take that stuff last night.  She was visably doped up and visably they weren't working to well.  She was performing with a torn ACL and they made her take a bulldog???? Why wouldn't they just job Bubba and call it a night.  A wrestler finishing a match hurt is one thing, but to put someone out there that is obviously injured is just wrong.  What ever happened to the good ol days when the hurt person would give up the title so they could have a tournament(I know, I know, a womens wrestling tourny isn't exactly on everyones wish list) and give the belt up that way.  I personally was cringing last night hoping that no more damage would get done.

All things considered, I felt they did their best to work around Jazz's injury. Bubba's rump took the brunt of the table shot, whereas, the week before, every bit of Trish went through the table.

Still, I felt bad for Jazz. She was clearly in pain, and, after doing so much for the women's division, she lost the belt in a rather unspectacular fashion.

They could have had an interesting angle where Jazz is still on TV, and because she's injured, she forms an alliance with Molly and has her defend the title as a substitute. This way, it would have gotten Molly away from this LAME thing with Terri that will go NO WHERE and it keeps Jazz on TV. She keeps her credibility. But god forbid the WWE ever think things through ahead of time.

I agree that they may have put her in undue danger, but what good would a tourney have done? All you'd have is Trish against Molly (maybe Jackie, but I wouldn't) which is what they're probably heading toward anyway. And I've never been a fan of champs copping out of losing their belts, injuries or not. Forfeiting titles devalues them, and the Women's belt has so little value right now. Granted, Jazz and Trish have done a world of good for their division, but they really needed to keep the sanctity (for lack of a better term) of the belt if they want it to be taken seriously. Jobbing Jazz was probably the only good solution. The fact that they did it with Trish in her hometown was also a good decision.

As for the HC schmozz, it was probably done to mask Jazz's limited mobility, give her an excuse to act all loopy, etc. It was excessive and mostly unwatchable, but what else is new with RAW?

Here's to a speedy recovery, Jazz...

My thing is that they pimped HHH for being a studd for all those months, U2 singing and everything... Do any of you for one second think that Jazz will be acknowledge on screen for wrestling a match coming in with a torn ACL???  I doubt it.  Hell, Lita is getting TV time with a injury she allegedly got filming a show.  I just think it is in really bad taste for them to make a injured wrestler bump, let alone the bumps she took in that match.

Then again maybe it was her idea to drop the belt the way she did instead of just forfeiting it. Jazz has intestinal fortitude for going out there hurt.

No. Nor can you compare the two. Triple H, at the time of his injury, was the top heel in the business. Jazz is just someone who brought a little credibility to a division that still gets "WE WANT PUPPIES!" chants during its matches.

I agree with Dumb Mark.  I think Jazz would have opted out of the match if it bothered her.  Plus, she really didn't do much.  And like someone said, Bubba took most of that table shot.  He just grilled Trish last week.

I think they did the table spot so that they'd have a reason for her to be injured. With Hall getting fired based on little storyline, and Lita getting injured outside the ring, the WWE couldn't afford another superstar to misss ring time with no storyline attached. My guess is that the WWE is kicking themselves for not being able to attach Lita's injury to the Hardy'z feud with Lesnar

Funny thing about the Trish powerbomb was that on Heat (MTV, somewhat controversial, never too high on censors) they had to stoip the fottage and show stills of that powerbomb, but TNN showed the whole thing on a Raw replay?  A bit contradctiing huh?

I was thinking about them censoring the Trish powerbomb from Buh Buh. I think they did that to make it seem more severe then it was. I don't see the point in making it look more severe when "good guy" buh buh is the one doing it but who knows what WWeee thinks any more.

They might actually mention Jazz's ACL next week, for two reasons: 1) Trish took a much more viscious table-ing last week than Jazz did this week, yet Trish appears now to be fine; and 2) what with the WWE being upfront about why Lita and Kevin Nash are out, I don't see why they wouldn't do the same for Jazz. They could say she tore her ACL, but claim it happened during that match, much like they did when they claimed Benoit hurt his neck at King of the Ring when it really happened a month before.

I think the best thing for them to do would've been an alliance with Molly. Molly's arguably the best woman on the roster, and a lot of Jazz' heat would rub off on her. I would've liked to see Molly double cross Jazz to get the belt and then see Jazz come back as a face for the blowoff.

Jazz is tough.  I'm sure that she wanted to work the match and job the title to Trish last night.

She might have been forced to do it.

Vince has done that before.

Benoit really didn't hurt his neck at King of the Ring? Damn, I never knew that... shows how much I know, eh? ???

As for Jazz, I was a bit disappointed to see her drop the title in such an anti-climactic fashion, and to Trish, but thankfully they didn't make Jazz do too much more and aggravate the injury too much.  As for the Bubba table spot, it always looks to me like Bubba takes all the table in those spots anyway.

That's true, but Jazz seems like the kind of person who would work through an injury if necessary.  I guess we will never know.

I doubt even the toughest wrestlers would work through a torn ACL, unless they were crazy...

Anyone know of any instances where a wrestler kept going with an ACL injury? I can't think of one.

Has anyone else ever torn a ACL??? You could probably finish a match and walk away fine...but the next morning... OH MY GAWD!!!!  It is so ridiculous to me that they would even risk her like that.  Any bump is a big bump with a torn ACL.

Hardcore Holly wrestled with a broken arm....HHH wrestled with a torn quad....but those were when they happened and the adrenaline was pumping...I don't know about how it felt after the fact.

Anyone think that the commentators downplayed Jazz's table bump?  I know JR said, "No, King, I didn't like it at all."  But Lawler seemed too friggin' happy about it.  Why does Jazz deserve a table bomb?  She doesn't cheat, she has beat Trish clean several times, she has attacked Trish but she did it herself.  Why couldn't Trish hurt Jazz herself?

Why did Bubba have to use the Misogyny Bomb on her?

Exactly.  I tore my Acl in the 3rd quarter of a basketball game in highschool and it went for 4 over times and played I played every minute after that.  It was a sharp pain, but it was bearable.  It was after the game, after I cooled down that it stiffend up.  The next morning was probably some of the most pain I have ever been in.  Jazz coming into it hurt is what is so impressive about it to me.

The only wrestler I know of who worked through a serious injury would be Shawn Michaels at XIV.
