Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2005 How is it legit when ten workers being ditch the match? If it IS real, they should all be fired for just saying, nah, I don't want to work on Sunday for probably the biggest paycheck of the year.

Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2005 It was a joke. I know, judging by other responses others don't seem to get it. Honestly though, it seems like a good idea, there are so many guys who aren't doing anything for the card, might as well stick them in a gimmick match, since battle royales are generally crowd pleasing and believe it or not might even catch a few more buys. Guest news_gimmick Report post Posted April 1, 2005 Most likely a joke, I don't think they will bother with their undercard beyond what they already have. But if it were real, I think itd be a great time to put Hassan over. He could win the battle royal, cut a heel promo, and then get semi squashed by Hogan. I think that way the Hogan segment wouldn't affect him as much since he would have already gotten a win.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2005 I don't want anymore matches to be added. With just a few matches, most will get a good deal of time (the Sumo and Women's match will be quick).
Team Angle Pusher 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2005 10 from Smackdown!, 10 from RAW RAW: The Hurricane (spot monkey for the match) Gene Snitsky (possible winner) William Regal (he's world tag champ, no chance he will win) Tajiri (see Regal) Chris Masters (will Polish Hammer Richards again) Stevie Richards (gets his nose broken and then eliminated) Sylvain Grenier (no) Rob Conway (Maybe, if they finally decide to push him) Val Venis (Let him win. I'll mark out for every move he does) Viscera (Always hyped as a favorite to win. Will lose) Smackdown!: Mark Jindrak (just turned Face, at least supposed to. Might win) Luther Reigns (has been squashed a lot lately. If he wins it would be nice, but he won't) Kenzo Suzuki (eww...) Danny Basham (no) Doug Basham (no) Carlito (big chance to win. Nice return and good for a push) Scotty 2 Hotty (god no) Nunzio (is a cruiserweight. 'Nuff said) Hardcore Holly (tagging with Haas) Charlie Haas (tagging with Holly and goes to RAW after WM hopefully) ===== Winner gets a shot at the IC or US Title. Guest Shadow Report post Posted April 1, 2005 Whats the point of doing it at all if it's just going to be on heat? I'd love to see Hassan not get invited to the match and he can use that as the "the straw that broke the camel's back" when he interupts Austin. Raw Tajiri Regal Rhyno Hurricane Rosey Venis Snitsky Masters Dean Maven Grenier Conway Viscera Matt Hardy The Coach Smackdown Paul London Akio Spike Kidman Spike Booker T Holly Haas Kenzo Dupree Heidenreich Carlito Carribean Cool Danny Basham Doug Basham Orlando Jordan
Slickster 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2005 Shadow's lineup sounds about right to me, though methinks Masters or Coach should be replaced by Marty Jannetty.
Slickster 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2005 Whats the point of doing it at all if it's just going to be on heat? They did one of these on the WMXV Heat too, so there is a precedent. Hopefully this one will last longer than 4:16 like that one was, though.

Yeah, but that Battle Royal served a purpose, the last two participants would get a shot at the tag titles. Granted it ended up being D'Lo and Test who lost and the match was never spoken of again, but hey at least the match had a reason.
Slickster 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2005 Well, I think it's a safe bet they'll give a title shot to the winner on RAW or SD! or something like that, though that hasn't been announced yet.
Guest Shadow Report post Posted April 2, 2005 why give the same stipulation to the winner of the battle royal to the winner of the ladder match. Just have a fictional $50,000 prize and have snitsky or someone win it and do a angle off that.
Slickster 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2005 Well, I think it's a safe bet they'll give a title shot to the winner on RAW or SD! or something like that, though that hasn't been announced yet. I figured it would be lazy booking for that week's post-WM TV. I was thinking maybe a IC or US title shot, but OJ would probably be in this match so it wouldn't make sense. slimm44 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2005 Another gimmick match where the winner gets a future shot at a title? Why not?! They had two single-fall fatal-four way matches for the tag titles. Seems interesting, but probably a warm-up/Heat match

Slickster 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2005 If it's for real, I don't like it. A bunch of workers no one wants to see thrown into a meaningless timewaster battle royal. That's just 10 minutes from say making Eddy/Rey a classic... Why is it that the time is always taken away from the matches you want to see? This could take time away from, say, the Piper's Pit segment that I wouldn't pay to see. Oh boy, 2 retired guys putting themselves over! At least Christy-Trish has 'potential clusterfuck' entertainment value. Also, it's good to see that no one wants to see Hurricane, London, Dupree, Booker T, etc. After all, you said it, so it MUST be true.
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2005 I'm all for it. It gets guys I like on the show, and battle royals are always fun in person. Sure, I won't be in the front row for WM21 like I have been for every other battle royal I've seen live, but I still mark for that type of match. Plus they need another match to take up some time. They went from 12 matches a year ago on a show that lasted just as long as this one will, to 8 matches, Piper's Pit, and likely some Hogan segment stemming from the HoF induction. Guest Shadow Report post Posted April 2, 2005 I'll predict that Snitsky and Heidenreich have a showdown since vince loves the fuck outta big man showdowns. I'll predict, CCC doesnt enter the ring right away until like 5 minutes into it and a face, let's say holly after being dumped throws CCC into the ring where he gets beaten down by most faces. Guest Tjhe CyNick Report post Posted April 2, 2005 Winner gets to be a free agent and can jump to the other show (if they want) or Winner is exempt from the draft lottery or winner just gets a trophy that Bret Hart will destroy showing his total lack of sportsmanship. Guest Shadow Report post Posted April 2, 2005 since they haven't mentioned the draft; i doubt they would use it as a stipulation. Since It's hollywood, I would predict a "Trophy" in the design of a Oscar that ends up getting smashed per tradition.
