Guest dpac Report post Posted May 14, 2002 RFvideo reported that it looks like the Rock will take on Keiji Muto (The Great Muta) in Japan this November. Talk about 2 different styles of wrestling, should be interesting how this plays out.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted May 14, 2002 Battle of the Dragon Screw! Run! I heard this first on Stuart's site and I heard it would be in October.
Guest Report post Posted May 19, 2002 Muto is just running his mouth. He also siad Hogan will be there soon. I haven't heard anything from WWF about this.....
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted May 19, 2002 Why is the WWF letting him do this when they should be having him wrestle in AMERICA? That doesn't make sense, unless Rock really wanted to do it. But, if I was Vince and I found out one of my main superstars can't wrestle for me, but has time to go to Japan and wrestle for a whole different organization....I would be pissed. Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted May 19, 2002 Send Jericho, Benoit, or Angle to fight the Japanese... not the five move wonder Rocky Maivia (DDT, spinebuster, Rock Bottom, spit punch, People's Elbow).
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 19, 2002 Umm....let's see. I hear tha Muto's organization needs money. Who will attract the biggest gate possible for Japan? The Rock. Not Jericho. Not Beniot. Not Angle. The Rock. Japan already loves Rocky and most likely They'll love TSK as well. This is just smart business by Muta.

All Japan (Mutoh's organization as of now) doesn't need money. The owner has very deep pockets and also recently revealed a huge benefactor that should keep them plenty in check. The Rock was in Japan for the Japanese premier of the Scorpian King. However, it was said that he accepted Muta's challenge, so it looks like the match will happen. As for Hogan....Hogan/Mutoh just scares me. As for Rock being a five move wonder, Mutoh only has four, so consider Rock the more "technically sound" of the two. Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Report post Posted May 19, 2002 For the person who mentioned Jericho, Angle, and Benoit, of those three, only Angle would get over in Japan wrestling in a heavyweight match. Benoit and Jericho are both forever typeset as juniors in Japan, particularly Jericho who would not be over there at all. Take away his mic work and he's a below average (relative to the quality of the Japanese junior wrestlers) worker who has never done anything in Japan of note. Benoit is well known due to his wins in 93 and 94 cups, so he might get over were he fighting a smaller heavyweight. Angle would be over huge in Japan because he would be seen as a "shooter" and were he to work with NJPW Inoki would probably cream his pants and give Angle a monster blowjob push. Guest TheHulkster Report post Posted May 19, 2002 Im happy to hear it, it should be a hell of a match. Rocky doesn't get enough credit for being a pretty damn good worker. He doesn't have a huge moveset, but he is a master of crowd psychology and can go the limit.
Guest art_vandelay Report post Posted May 19, 2002 As for Hogan....Hogan/Mutoh just scares me. Hey, don't be so quick to judge. The match these two had back in 93 far exceeded my expectations, and was entertaining as hell. Seeing Hogan do step-over jujigatames and a bunch of other techincal moves which I don't even know the names of, had me in awe. Mutoh vs. Rock, if it ever happens, will be great in terms of crowd reaction, similar to Rock vs. Hogan, and will definitely draw huge numbers. I wonder if The Rock would do the backflip sell when taking the Shining Wizard.

"Memorable" and "great" are two different adjectives. Watch it with the sound off, and it will be an obomination. And so on. That's about the extent of my feelings on the matter. Guest art_vandelay Report post Posted May 19, 2002 "Memorable" and "great" are two different adjectives. Well, maybe to you. But to me and most people, "great" and "memorable" are synonymous.
Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted May 19, 2002 "Memorable" and "great" are two different adjectives. Well, maybe to you. But to me and most people, "great" and "memorable" are synonymous. Lets try to put this in perspective: If I told you that, say, American Pie was a great movie, you'd probably think that my taste was a little on the poor side, eh? However, most people will always remember that movie as the first time they saw a guy trying to fuck a pie, thus, making the movie memorable. Just take a look at it this way: HHH, as bad as he is now, is better than Mutoh, where I stand, and watching him face Hulk is about as much "memorable/great" wrestling I can take without vomiting. If you want to see Hogan/Mutoh, that's fine. If you can stomach it, more power to you. That's really all I have to say on the matter, since my personal opinion of the two wrestlers we're discussing is that they're not worth my time to debate about. And so on.
