Guest Report post Posted May 15, 2002 The Salton Sea -- I thought this was a pretty cool flick. Some parts were really reminiscent of Fight Club. Lots of dark comedic stuff too. Really cool. I only saw one part that was a little stupid... SPOILER ...which is when Tom/Danny's wife is still alive for about 3 minutes after being shot in the head at point blank range. Wouldn't this pretty much take her face right off? Yet, there was only blood dripping from her hair. Very odd. END SPOILER Otherwise, I thought it was a pretty interesting flick. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 15, 2002 Damage inflicted would depend on the gun. Some kid in my area got shot point blank in the forehead and not only did it not cause major damage but the kid lived.
Guest Report post Posted May 15, 2002 Man, I posted my review of this flick like 3 weeks ago. You're just seeing it now? Slow ass! Anyway, I agree. It's a great movie, one of the best of the year.

Heh, yeah. I didn't even know about it until recently. I'm glad I did see it though! Even if I had to pay 3 bucks for a small bottle of water at the Paramount. Damn Toronto theatres... ;p Either way, it's definitely a future DVD purchase.
Guest Report post Posted May 16, 2002 Haha, you saw it at the Paramount? So did I. I guess you are also from Toronto. Yeah, I'll be picking it up on DVD for sure.

Yessir, I can frequently be seen throwing my money down the tubes at least once a week over at the Paramount. Seriously though, why did they raise their prices again? It should NEVER cost me $30 to buy two tickets to see a movie. =\
Guest Report post Posted May 17, 2002 The only reason I saw The Salton Sea at the Paramount is because it's the only theatre that has the film. I avoid the big name theatres, because they are so damn expensive. I usually stick to matinee's or the cheapie theatre I go to in Scarboro, where it costs $7.50 per show. AMC is also pretty decent if you have a movie watcher card. Much better than Famous Players or Cineplex.
