After the match, Andre the Giant awarded the title to Ted DiBiase. - It was revealed that Ted DiBiase had paid off the referee for the Hogan-Andre match. - WWF Tag Team champions The Hart Foundation defeated The Rougeau Brothers at 13:42. *** - The following weekend on WWF Superstars, WWF President Jack Tunney declared that a WWF title can not be handed from one wrestler to another. He stated that it must be won in the ring. Therefore, he declared the WWF Undisputed Heavyweight title vacant. He then stated that there would be a 1 night tournament taking place at WrestleMania IV to determine a new WWF Undisputed Champion. SATURDAY NIGHT’S MAIN EVENT - MARCH 7, 1988 - The show opened up with a highlight video of the Hulk Hogan-Andre the Giant situation from The Main Event, and then Jack Tunney declaring the title vacant. - WWF National Heavyweight champion Randy Savage defeated Rick Rude by disqualification after The Honky Tonk Man interfered at 12:58. **¾ - It is announced that Randy Savage will be facing The Honky Tonk Man in a Steel Cage match at WrestleMania. - Demolition defeated Tito Santana & Rick Martel at 8:23. *¾ - Ted DiBiase defeated Ricky Steamboat with a sleeper hold at 10:33. *** - Hulk Hogan is interviewed. He states that he will defeat One Man Gang tonight, and then he will regain the WWF Undisputed Heavyweight title at WrestleMania. - Hulk Hogan defeated One Man Gang at 7:12. *½ After the match, Ted DiBiase and Andre the Giant come out and attack Hogan. Several minutes later, Randy Savage comes out to make the save. After the match, One Man Gang came out and attacked Savage. Hulk Hogan came out to make the save. Also take note of this, the Big Bossman is now just The Bossman, and he dresses like Ray Traylor in WCW. They also aren't called the Twin Towers.
