Guest treble charged Report post Posted May 16, 2002 I remember when Sonic & Knuckles first came out for the Genesis, everyone was talking about how cool this new technology was, but then, to the best of my knowledge, no other game was released like this. Does anyone know why?
Guest Karnage Report post Posted May 16, 2002 Well it was a cool feature, but people won't go crazy just to be able to play the same game with a different character. Some games sort of done it, like GTA 1 for PS with their London expansion.

Guest The Man in Blak Report post Posted May 16, 2002 And I think it's only because they recycled virtually the same damn engine for every Sonic game that such a feat was possible. How many games use the same engine for four straight games nowadays?
Guest One Bad Apple Report post Posted May 17, 2002 Sega's "lock-on" technology What happened? You're asking in terms of, "What happened when you attached Sonic & Knuckles to Wolverine: Adamantium Rage?" right? Okay, I'll be happy to help. See ... when you connect them you're probably going to expect Wolverine and Knuckles to form a dream alliance that would knock the solar system on its ass ... but instead you get to play that bonus game with the spheres. Y'know how if went to see a doctor and he turned out to be Dr. Mario it would be the ultimate appointment? Well, this ... "team-up" between Wolvie and Knuckie was, like, the complete opposite, in that it was the ultimate disappointment.
Guest Report post Posted May 23, 2002 They used the lock-on for another Sonic game didn't they?
