I just have one question:  Why does Hogan want the Rock to quit wrestling?

So his little buddy can make bad movies and then come back to wrestling.. just like he did.

Hogan knows that rocky has plenty of time to do this.. say 30 years, just like him!

Are we *really* going to miss this guy? How much is he an essential ingredient to the WWE ratings? Will the freefall continue without him?

I already know of this story.

The internet community isn't completely high on Rock or like him all that much, but plenty of people still do. The freefall will continue until WWF decides to build up a few stars should Rock take off for good, instead of resorting to more of the same from the big players and contract signings of outside factors.

I think The Rock is essential for the ratings, but then again, so is the creative staff actually utilizing their roster well and coming up with inventive things, which they aren't doing either. But the WWF has to recover one thing or the other sooner or later to make positive gains, that much is obvious. Not to go off on the same old argument, but the WWF can't wait for another new signee or The Rock to come back in order to spike interest.

Again, I drifted off there, but it still fits together somewhat.

Is this really true? What do you guys think of the Rock? Sure, his persona & catchphrases could get really annoying, but personally, I'd rather go back to the days when Rock/Angle were having great main event matches than the Hogan/Undertaker suckfest that's presently on my TV.

I'm really sick and tired of dumb mother fuckers wanting to make the Rock quit...  He's a hard working man that tries to put everybody over, for god sakes, he sold the fuckin Leg Drop...  This old fart can't even put a fuckin hammerlock on and many people want the Rock to Quit?

Just like Areacode said, I rather, 100 times more rather have a Rock/Angle fight than some bullshit I'm seeing right now.  Hogan should of retired a long time ago because he doesnt cut it anymore.

He's a good wrestler and he goes over with the fans...  What the fuck is wrong with mother fuckers these days?  They rather have Mark Henry go over than the Rock, what the fuck is ya smokin, and give me some...

Rock should stay, they need to push wrestlers like Kidman, Tajiri, Edge, Christian, fuck it, all the little mother fuckers that can move...

WWF or WWE what ever they fuckin want to call it shuld do a better job because this shit is getting ridiculous...

Well, considering that he's never on TV anymore, he's hardly an essential ingredient. I doubt Vince would let him out of his contract that easily. If anything he will just continue to make McMahon-sponsored crapfest's like 'The Scorpion King.' ;p

Whoa whoa...Rock's a good wrestler? Lets not go over board here. Yeah he will put over anyone that he's asked to do and that's a the main good thing about him but good wrestler he isn't.

He has "charisma" and readily jobs is what people should give Rock credit for. But there is no way that he can be called a good wrestler. Only reason Rock is more entertaining to watch then Hogan wrestling is because he's younger and can move better. Rock wrestling at 45 would be just as unbearable to watch as Hogan is.

The only thing that WWeee will miss about Rock is his natural charisma. Hell WWeee hasn't even taken advantage of his charisma in years and just had him do the same promos over and over so that won't even be a major loss.

Also remember that the majority of Rock's fans are the "trendy fans" who are now jumping off the WWeee train so him leaving won't affect it as bad as some may think.

Well, I guess matches between him and Angle werent good, between he and Jericho werent good, Stone cold, HHH, Benoit.  Dammit, he made bullshit wrestler actually look watchable.

The Charisma, yes, you are right in that...  He has one of the best Charisma in the biz, with Angle...

I'm a Rock fan, but I'm also a fan of wrestling, and I know good wrestling when I see it.  Therefore, I love it when Angle, Benoit, and even Jericho wrestles...  I love the lightweight and stuff like that...  Rock is a good wrestler, does he need to get more moves under his style?  I think everyone does...  The thing about you and I is that we have a difference of opinion, I respect your opinion, you think he is NOT a good wrestler and that's your point of view, but I do.

I'm also a Benoit fan for reason that everyone knows because I think we all share the reason.

But, in my opinion I think Hogan should just quit, I dont think WWE/F what ever the want to fuckin call it now, aint the same with out the rock, if feels empty.

Well, that's my opinion hope you respect it like I respect yours.

B "I mark for Rock and other good wrestlers, not Hogan and not HHH, he sucks now." O

If I was The Rock I probably wouldnt want to go back.  Look at how much money he can make in Hollywood and what the WWF has become.  I think it's a pretty easy decision and I doubt he really cares about the wrestling part of spots entertainment anyway.

I'd be surprised to see him leave for good without putting over a guy or two on the way out.

That said, I really hope he doesn't leave, because in terms of building a match, Rock is one of the best guys in the business.  Everybody looks good against him--he doesn't sell the best, but he still builds exciting matches, and anyone who fights him gets a damn big reaction.

Charisma.  He's got it.  WWwhatever could use some of that these days.

Um yeah that's great he has looked good with good wrestlers...oh yeah that proves a whole lot.

You'd prove your point alot better if you'd point out good matches he has had with shitty wrestlers.

Yes HHH is crap now but he wasn't this bad back when Rock wrestled him.

People don't call Beniot and Flair great wrestlers based on them having great matches with good wrestlers. They are called great because they could also make mediocre wrestlers look good.

So like i said point out these matches where Rock made shitty wrestlers look good and maybe i will reconsider my stance.

Oh yeah and don't try to pass off his match with Hogan as an example. The match sucked but the crowd reaction made it look good.

What does he have left on his contract? Two or Three years? I think in that time he'll be on tv for little spurts every now and then, but who knows if he'll ever go full time again. Maybe when his contract is up he'll wrestle one or two dates a year, but that's it. He'll get to keep the Rock name and the WWF will get a cut from the movies.

the rock is a feather in the ring.  when he's with somebody good, he can be carried effortlessly.  if you made chris benoit wrestle one match with every guy on the roster, i guarantee you that the rock's match will be better than at least 90% of the other matches.

the rock also doesn't really have bad matches.  even his match with test on raw last year was decent.

i miss the rock dearly.

The idea that the Rock is "carried" to all his best matches is a laughable one at best. His matches with HHH are better than any body else's matches with him, other than maybe 1 Jericho-HHH match. And it's certainly not because HHH carried them, because if that were the case, wouldn't HHH vs. Benoit have been better than HHH vs. Rock? I would wager to guess that if the Rock came back right now in a feud with HHH and they did a 20-30 minute PPV match, it would blow every match HHH has had since coming back from his injury out of the water. Why? Because they know how to work well together and produce a good match. Another point worth noting is that Rock carried Angle in their NM2000 title match. While I'm sure some people will simply disbelieve that because "Angle is a better wrestler", go back and watch the match, where Angle is still very green (as far as wrestling in and calling lengthly title matches of that type) so while his work is good, the Rock is basically calling the match and controlling the flow of it. His match with Austin was also better than any other Austin match (post 1997) other than possibly Austin vs. HHH and Austin vs. Benoit. His matches with Jericho are also consistently better than Jericho's matches with anyone but Benoit. In fact, were you to compare the two, Rock's matches with Austin, HHH, and Angle are better than Jericho's with those same people.

Since those guys are all good workers, let's do the shitty workers comparison. For my money, the following guys all had their best matches with the Rock: Rikishi, Billy Gunn, Rhyno, and Mark Henry. Billy's matches with the Rock were also better than his matches with Benoit for the IC title.

Rock is definately a superb wrestler. Rock/Austin at Mania was ****3/4, Rock/Jericho at No Mercy and Vengenace were both ****3/4. Rock/HHH Ironman and ladder were both ****3/4. Rock/Benoit was ****1/2. Wreslters can be carried, granted, but can they really be carried to ****+ match after ****+ match?

I'm hoping for this day too.  It will be fun to see of the Rock's fans become dissapointed when he announces that he is no longer the Rock, but is now known as the  Sellout.  Will he still use his eybrow or his elbow?  What about talking about what has just cooked for us?  I will be gone to see this crap gone, and hopefully Vince pushes some new guys.

One last thing good riddance, Rocky, I have always thought you have sucked!

To the Rock's fans:

Don't worry when the next nostalgia trend comes in the Rock will return and face the Undertaker at Judgement Day.
