Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted May 17, 2002 You know, Hogan blows in the ring, but seeing the reaction he gets and seeing the smile on his face as he listens to the crowd go on like they do is almost worth it. Well, not quite. But as long as he doesn't stay on top too long, what a way to go out.
Guest Report post Posted May 17, 2002 He had to bend slowly to get the microphone. I'm not sure if it was because he was selling his back or the ultra bone-tight jeans.
Guest Report post Posted May 17, 2002 Aw, HORSESHIT!!! They cut the comment out, just as I predicted they would. I guess HHH didn't want everyone knowing the truth... No they didn't......
Guest papacita Report post Posted May 17, 2002 Is anybody else as tired of seeing Vince McMahon on TV as I am??? It's like everytime they have a good segment, they have to ruin it by throwing in one of those pointless McMahon segments. He has no feud and no angle other than the Stacy thing. As much as everybody used to complain about Stephanie, Vince is much worse. Get his ass off of TV!

Guest alfdogg Report post Posted May 17, 2002 You want a REVEREND TO GO OUT AND BUY COMDOMS?? That's the funniest thing I've heard said on wrestling in a while. Yeah, Michael, Rikishi is one of the premiere athletes in the WWE today... FOR ME TO POOP ON!

Guest What?! Report post Posted May 17, 2002 Wow! Hogan sold an injury for like 10 minutes before he beat the crap out of Vince and posed like there was no problem!
Guest alfdogg Report post Posted May 17, 2002 I'm shocked HHH didn't do his whole entrance while Angle & Jericho beat on Edge. I'm NOT shocked that Jericho & Angle only got offense on HHH when they were double-teaming.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted May 17, 2002 Well, I guess, if Hogan's heat flounders and ratings continue to drop, Vince can just have every show from now on in Canada.
Guest TheHulkster Report post Posted May 17, 2002 That was a pretty good Smackdown match-wise and storyline-wise. The buildup during the show for Angle vs Edge was very cliche. Wow, you cut off a lock of his hair, Never seen that used in the buildup to a hair vs hair match, no siree. Another thing that fucking bothers me about the WWE is the fact that they act like when two people start feuding at the begining of the month or whenever they designated "Hey, suddenly you guys don't like each other" time after a pay per view is, they apparently have never feuded before. Is it so freaking hard to add even more back story to Jericho-HHH by actually pretending their feud before wrestlemania existed, or their feud leading up to fully loaded, or the false title switch? It would be so easy because it's already there, it has already happened, and it would add more drama than their whole "Mr McMahon is evil and sets up a Hell in a Cell match between HHH and Jericho" that they are currently using. It's not just HHH-Jericho either, it's every single feud. Im dying to see who the Hurricane's little stalker is. I hope we find out at Judgement Day. Man, that pop for Hogan was ridiculous. Viva Quebec!
Guest chirs3 Report post Posted May 17, 2002 From what I saw (my tape ran out just before Hogan began talking), that was a pretty decent show. Line of the night: Taz: They're like a pack of wolves! Cole: Yea, a pack of wolves who are nothing but vultures!
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted May 17, 2002 Holy crap was that a good cruiser match...nice to see the announcers barely care about it though. I beg to differ. The match had no flow to it, and never really got going. Only the WWE can take a 3-way match involving Tajiri, Helms, & Kidman, and make it so uninteresting. Cole: "Rikishi can move like a Cruiserweight!" SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!! The segment w/ Helms & Funaki was the best segment of the night. I loved how Helms did the Hurricane pose, then remembered he was disguised as Greg Helms. Awesome!
Guest notJames Report post Posted May 17, 2002 I have to agree about the Cruiser match... it was way too short for them to tell their story. And Kidman seemed so out of place, like they didn't need him at all, except for that one spot where he kicked Hurricane off the top rope and swung around to complete the DDT on Tajiri. They could have easily cut out ALL of those stupid vignettes with Vince to give this match more time. I didn't know Orton used Elix Skipper's Overdrive/Play of the Day. Has he always used it? Did Hogan really say "nine-one-one" instead of 9-11? I personally hate that phrase to begin with, but damn what an idiot. And Damn those Quebecois for furthering perpetuating the myth of GoblinMania. Once again, Angle and Jericho stand head and shoulders above the rest. Is there any other reason to watch sMcMahonDown?

Guest Report post Posted May 17, 2002 I loved Edge's whole antagonism of HHH, especially~! the 'good guy' promo. He's finally becoming interesting as a character. It seems like they're really making an effort to break down the face/heel structure at the top of the card. Hurricane is always a reason to watch, and Rico's becoming one. For some reason I really marked out during the Storm/Holly v Orton/Venis match. Maybe because they all have the exact same haircut. Actually I enjoy the whole weird Smackdown midcard, Rikishi notwithstanding. Where's Hugh Morrus? Oh yeah... on Metal. Some things never change.
Guest notJames Report post Posted May 17, 2002 Orton reminds me of Zack from Saved by the Bell... ... not that I ever watched that show... ???
Guest Report post Posted May 17, 2002 "It's not just HHH-Jericho either, it's every single feud." I totally agree. Most of these feuds could literally write themselves. It's almost like the writing team is either trying too hard (yeah right) or they're too stupid to let the wrestling and backstory speak for itself. Look at the Hogan/undertaker angle. They have an "epic rematch 10 years in the making that could decide once and for all which superstar is greater." Instead, the feud centers around motorcycles. Come on... what a joke. Guest godthedog Report post Posted May 17, 2002 i think that crowd reaction MADE smackdown. i hate hogan with a passion, & the way the audience acted gave me a lump in my throat. amazing television moment: no commentary, no advancing storylines, just the montreal crowd screaming their lungs out. Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted May 17, 2002 Although i am a Hogan mark, anyone who doesn't preffer watching him has to admit that crowd reaction was good (and lasted about 5:00-6:00 without Cole ruining it.
