Survivor series '91

I watched Survivor Series '91 last night for the first time since it originally aired.

 

To remind people, the main event ended up being Boss Man & LOD vs IRS & Natural Disasters.

 

By the storyline, Jake Roberts was going to be a part of the heel team, but did not because he had attacked Randy Savage. Who was the planned fourth man on the face team? - as Savage had not been reinstated at that time.

Savage was going to be reinstated just to go after Jake.   But that match was still good with all of the work that the Disasters did.

It was originally meant to be Sid Justice as the fourth man, but he was pulled out for some reason. Savage was never meant to wrestle on the event, Justice was.

I think Sid was pulled cause Jack Tunney wanted to make it fair.

Sid was injured so they inserted Savage but came up with the angle.

 

BTW...

 

just because the last match was Bossman/LOd vs. Disastors/IRS, doesnt mean its the main event. The main event is the headlining match (in this case Undertaker vs. Hulk Hogan).

BTW, the only reason it is the main event is because the Duggan/Mustafa team match is the only other match that the face wins, and LOD was more over.  The WWF, especially in the 80s-early 90s, likes to send the fans home happy by having a face win the main event.

These were the original teams:

 

Sid, LOD, BossMan

vs

Jake, Disasters, IRS

 

I found that funny because Jake had just come off a feud with Quake after he squashed Damien.

 

Anyway, Sid broke his arm, and they went straight to the six-man, I think.  Savage was not reinstated until the attack with the cobra.  I think it had already been made into a six-man.

Savage was never billed as a participant in the Survivor Series match. He was reinstated by Jack Tunney following the events at Survivor Series and six days later he made his in ring return facing Jake Roberts at the underrated PPV "Tuesday in Texas".

They couldnt have UT vs. Hogan main event, bc they wanted the fans to leave happy with a face win.  LOD was probably more over than Hogan anyway...

ut and hogan could of been the main event, as i recall alot of fans were cheering when hogan lost

On the contrary of what UT said on his video This is my Yad or whatever, UT did not get a greater reaction then hogan,a lthough some people were noticably cheering for him.
