Guest DragonflyKid Report post Posted May 16, 2002 It was an interesting show especially the ice deal, but I want to know how David Blaine does the trick where he throws a stack of cards into a window and the card someone choose and wrote on sticks inside the window. I'm a fan of magic, I watched a couple of David Blaine specials and was blown away. I repect those who are skilled at creating illusions but hate the magic acts that involve plants. Guest Report post Posted May 16, 2002 David Blain is one insane dude. I don't think he did his icebox trick like that......he doesn't have a mask so people would know if he had a double. What channel was this one on? I didn't hear anything about it... is it the one with the "Masked Magician"? Does he still wear a mask? I know he unmasked himself on the last of those shows. Guest ant_7000 Report post Posted May 17, 2002 Blaine is crazy I remember the one ABC special that he had this girl pick out a card and told her think about someone you care about she did then he rubed the card on his stomach and then the person the girl thought of name was on his stomach I was like whoa. But Blaine's icebox was fake because he was wearing sweater one day and then next day he wasn't wearing one and was bare chested. Plus last night the magician that was in icebox inside it was 55 degrees and was kind of smooth when did the body double switch they did that while they frosted the ice that was tight. I'm not into big magic acts...but the street magic special Blaine did was pretty cool...those are the kind of tricks I like. He has a double periodically stand in for him, doing the switch when the view from outside is obscured by workers cooling the ice. Under the platform is a secret room with everything they both need to survive a week. A gimmicked tape runs on a nearby moniter to fool people into thinking he's in there the entire time. LOL...The look on the man's face when he watched the coffee turn into coins was PRICELESS. Weird thing about the trick, was that they actually showed the coffee cup starting to shake and overflow with coins, with the camera catching a good glimpse of it.
