Scroby 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2005 Last night I watched Cold Case for the first time on CBS last night, mainly because it was doing something on the Rocky Horror Picture Show, and for the first time seeing it, the show really impressed me. For those who haven't seen the show, basically the show is about cases that weren't solved being re-opened so they can get solved. So anyways, the story of this episode is that a serial killer is about to be released but the detectives wanna see if this unsolved murder tyes in with him. The murder was of this doorman who attend the RHPS with one of the cast members who were both planning on leaving for New York that night, but for some reason the doorman was killed before he could make his train and these events happen in the 70's. So their interviewing everyone who was involved, the serial killer, his aunt, the woman who attended the show, and other people who just knew the killer and the doorman. Well everytime they interview a different person, the show cuts to a event that happen in a flashback but the cool thing about this, is the fact that a musical number from Rocky is being played in the backround and the cool thing is the fact that each song fits into the event that is being shown, which I thought was pretty awesome. At the end of this, after everything is solved, the song "there's a light" plays and it shows everyone nvolved with the case, basically at peace and going on with their lives and for the ending credits they did the same credits thats at the end of the Rocky movie. I just thought this show did a really good job tying a movie theme into a detective show. If anyone gets a chance to see it, I highly recommand it. It really impressed me. Anyone else have any thoughts on it?
C Dubya 04 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2005 I'm actually a huge fan of Cold Case. I really like how they flashback to the characters as they were when the murder occurred during the rest of the show. That was what first stood out for me with this show. Also, the show always uses music heavily. They had a Johnny Cash episode that was tied into a prison story and will use music from the time period during all flashbacks. Last night's episode was well done, especially the end with the Rocky credits.
