Guest justcoz Report post Posted May 17, 2002 They were actually respectful to each other and Costas at least bothered to do some research this time for his questioning. For the most part, I feel that Costas now respects McMahon or at least recognizes him as a guest which will bring interest and ratings to his show. Costas may have even relaxed a little on his criticisms of modern day wrestling after praising the Hogan/Rock Wrestlemania match. The interview was short and Costas didn't touch on some things I would have liked to have seen Vince address like WCW, having no competition and the botched NWO return. Still, this was the best mainstream US interview I've seen and I think Costas should consider having wrestlers as guest more often. This is the way the mainstream have to see the wrestling business treated, for what it is, an athletic entertainment spectacle which has it's high points and failures. I'd like to see McMahon open himself up more for interviews such as this. It would only help WWE. Hell, I've been saying WWE should produce their own show where they treat and discuss their business openly like this.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted May 17, 2002 I agree. Vince and Bob represented themselves great on the show tonight. Although I still think Vince has a few screws loose due to the hilariously bad shows lately, he earn a bit of my respect back for him with the On The Record interview. Guest papacita Report post Posted May 17, 2002 Yeah I agree. It was a good interview and I'm happy to see that Vince didn't make an ass out of himself like he did last year. If Vince did more of these, it would do a lot to repair his damaged reputation in the mainstream.
Guest TheHulkster Report post Posted May 17, 2002 Yeah, Bob asked some of the questions that a lot of us would have liked to ask McMahon, and seemed to have at least acted like he knew what he was talking about. A few weeks ago HHH was on Carson Daily. That was a good interview too because he didn't ask the same cliched questions you ask wrestlers and admitted right off the bat that he didn't watch a whole lot of wrestling. Those are the two ways interviewers should go when interviewing a wrestler, not some of the other BS I see when the first question the interviewer asks is "Is wrestling fake?". If they want to know so bad, watch all the other million interviews where they ask that insulting question.
