Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted February 13, 2002 Since I do fantasy booking fairly often, I get too caught up in it, and wind up with a crapload of ideas that I never use. This is one of 'em, but I think it's one of my best. It's November of 1999. Steve Austin, The Rock and Triple H are on a collision course heading into the Survivor Series, where the three will battle with the World Title on the line. Stephanie McMahon has finally found happiness with Test. After fighting for his right to be with her, Test has put the war with Shane McMahon behind him, and the McMahon family as a whole is happy for their daughter and future son in law. SURVIVOR SERIES 1999: We all know what happens here. Austin gets led out to the parking lot, only to be run down by an unseen person. Shane, Linda and Vince McMahon rush to check on Austin, but Test and Stephanie are absent. Test and Stephanie arrive at the arena just a few moments after, and also express concern for the well being of Stone Cold. Thinking that it's DX's doing, Vince starts to prepare something for the main event. MAIN EVENT TIME: The Rock enters first to a resounding pop, and the World Champion, Triple H, enters next. The two are ready to go at it until Test's theme song plays, and he comes out in his gear to a big pop. Vince and the whole McMahon family are shown behind Test, patting him on the back and wishing him well. Test rushes the ring, and he and Rocky play ping pong with Triple H, taking turns staggering Hunter with punches, until he staggers right into a big boot by Test. The match continues, with all three men going at it at various points, and continually switching off. Here is a recap of the final moments of the match: Rocky tosses Triple H outside of the ring, but this allows Test to come from behind and hook Rock for a pumphandle slam. Rock floats over, landing behind Test, and the youngster walks right into the Rock Bottom. Rock stands above the fallen Canadian, and removes his elbowpad. He tosses it into the crowd, and starts to run the ropes for the People's Elbow, but Triple H is up on the apron, and pulls the top rope down. Rock tumbles to the floor, and Triple H starts beating him down. He throws Rock up on the announce table, and starts to climb onto it, when a weary Test exits the ring and pulls him away. Test and Triple H brawl, while Rock lay on the table, finally able to catch a breath. Triple H rakes Test's eyes, and tosses him into the guardrail, then clotheslines him into the crowd. Triple H turns his attention back to The Rock, who is now up and standing right behind him. A flurry of punches follows, and Rock tosses Triple H onto the announce table. Rock grabs a water bottle, mimics Triple H's entrance by pouring water on him, then spits the rest in Hunter's face, and Rock Bottom's him through the table. Both men lay in a heap on the ground, as Ross and Lawler are having a fit about how all 3 combatants are out cold on the ground. Test makes it up first, pulling himself up with the guardrail. He tosses Triple H into the ring, and points to the top rope. He sets him up for the flying elbow, but down the aisle, here comes DX! Gunn, Road Dogg and X-Pac rush out, and Ross has a conniption about how DX will help Hunter hang onto the belt at any cost, linking the hit and run to DX. Test is on the top rope, when Gunn jumps up on the apron and crotches him. Suddenly, from the back comes Shane McMahon, wielding a chair, and he beans Road Dogg and X-Pac. The Rock is now up, and he's brawling with Gunn. Triple H pulls Test up off the mat,and sets him up for the Pedigree, but Test backdrops out of it. Test leans up against the ropes for support, as he's spent. Helmsley gets up, and Test, with one last burst of energy, hits the big boot to the face. Triple H collapses, and Test falls right on top of him. The referee makes the count...1...2...3! TEST is the new WWF Champion! POST MATCH: DX regroups and swears vengeance. The McMahons flood the ring, congratulating Test, as do friends like Big Show, Mick Foley, and others. The Rock, visibly PO'd that he lost the match, grabs the title from the referee, and shoots him the eyebrow. He turns to Test, and after a moment of tension, drapes the belt over his shoulder before walking away. AFTERMATH:Test's shocking win helped catapult him to stardom, as victories over various midcard talents helped to put him over as a fighting champion. The DX threat did not go away, and Test did his best to fight back. The McMahons fully backed Test in his reign, and Vince unloaded the hype machine to keep the youngster over. A wedding date was also set for Test and Stephanie, and they agreed to exchange vows on an edition of RAW. ARMAGEDDON 1999: Test offered Triple H a rematch for the title, since Triple H claimed that Test only won because it was a 2 on 1 affair. The finish saw Triple H go for a chairshot on Test, but Vince ran in and swiped the chair. As he and Hunter bickered, Test booted the chair right into his face for the pin. 2000: The first RAW of the year sees the wedding of Steph and Test get ruined by DX. The group interrupts, saying that when Stephanie says "I do" Test should ask "With who", since she's nothing but a slut and that they were able to have their way with her on more than one occasion. Test, Vince and Shane try to keep their cool, but when Hunter gets too close to Steph for anyone's liking, Test snaps, and a brawl ensues, wrecking the set. RAW fades out with the wrestlers in tuxes (Edge, Christian, D Lo) trying to break up the brawl and keep DX at bay. ROYAL RUMBLE: A streetfight is signed for the Rumble, with the World Title on the line. The McMahons and DX are all barred from ringside. Triple H decimates Test, viciously working over his leg en route to a victory and the WWF Title. Test sells the injury for a few weeks, and comes back demanding a rematch. Rumble winner The Rock sees this as Test getting in the way of his Wrestlemania shot, since he too wants revenge on Triple H. Both men get cocky, claiming that neither one beat the other in that Triple Threat match. A match is signed for No Way Out. Triple H finds a way to interject himself in the match, as a referee. NO WAY OUT sees Test and Rock go at it tooth and nail, with Hunter doing a hilarious job as ref, trying to egg the guys on to just kill each other, not counting for either guy, even leaving the ring to join the commentators. Test gets in Hunters face one too many times, and Hunter takes him out, allowing Rock to get the pin. Triple H comes out the next night and says that since he helped The Rock, the right thing for Rock to do is to go to Wrestlemania and lay down and finally show the world who the better man is. Shawn Michaels returns in his role as commisioner, and tells his old buddy that he's not fighting The Rock at Wrestlemania...he's fighting Test...AND The Rock. It's a Triple Threat rematch, but this time, it's elimination style, so the bickering, fussing and fighting ends there, and the better man will win. WRESTLEMANIA sees Rock win the match after pinning Triple H. Test got eliminated early by Triple H. The following night on RAW, Test asks Rock graciously for a rematch, since he has never pinned him fairly in the course of the title feud. Rock accepts. Rock wins the match cleanly with the Rock Bottom. After the match, it looks like the two will shake hands, but Test snaps and attacks The Rock, leaving him laying. The announcers and fans are confused...why would Test do this. The next week, Test and the McMahon's are talking it over. Test agrees that his temper got the better of him, and he'll apologize to The Rock. Rock takes it as he normally would, and the two men agree to team up against Triple H and Chris Benoit, the "uncrowned" World Champion. The finish of the match sees Test have his arm worked over by Benoit, but he manages to bust out the flying elbow during a pier six brawl. Test, in agony, rolls over holding the arm, but as he's going to make the cover, Rock tags himself in and makes the pin on Benoit. Test is angered yet again, and we fade with him looking none too happy. The following week, Test calls out The Rock. He asks why he did what he did. Rock says he was just winning the match...he tagged in because he could see Test was hurt. Test turns it around on The Rock, calling him a glory hog and trying to steal his (Test's) spotlight. The two men come to blows, with Rock getting the better of the exchange, and Test storms off. Backstage, the McMahons are trying to calm Test down, when he shouts at them all, then says he just needs time alone. Everyone acts concerned. The next week, Test runs in when Chris Benoit gets in Vince's face, and saves his father in law. This sets up Benoit vs. Test at BACKLASH. Test loses to Benoit at Backlash by tapping out to the Crossface. Rock retains his title over Triple H at the event. The next night on RAW, Rock beats Benoit in a WWF Title match. Benoit attacks Rock afterwards, but Test makes the save. Rock questions why Test saved him from Benoit. Test said he doesn't like Benoit, but he still doesn't like The Rock. Test figures now The Rock "Owes him one",and Test wants another title shot. Rock says he'll have to earn it. Test goes on a winning streak, getting wins over Perry Saturn, Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit leading up to Judgement Day. The name of the event gains even more significance, since it's got a double main event of The Rock vs. Test for the last time, and Triple H vs. the man he called out, a returning Undertaker. Test defeats The Rock at Judgement Day for the title in a match that sees Test go full heel. He brutalizes Rock throughout and after the encounter, much to the shock and chagrin of the fans and McMahons. Test assures The McMahons and especially Stephanie that nothing is wrong, and he's not going to change on them. They are vocal about his aggressive behavior in the ring as of late, but he promises that it's "Just in the ring. Outside, I'm the same guy." Rock is obviously PO'd at Test, and wants another shot, but a cocky Test throws the "last time" stipulation in his face. Vince, trying to humble his son in law, books a tag match main event for King Of The Ring, with The Rock and Chris Benoit tagging against Mick Foley and Test in a "Random Act Of Violence" tag team contest, where the partners are selected at random. This way, Rock can get his hands on Test, but the title is not on the line. Foley is pinned by Benoit in that match, while Test and Rock brawl on the floor. After the match, Test brutalizes Foley, blaming him for making him look bad. RAW after KOTR, Foley calls out Test, saying that he liked him a lot, but he has changed. Was it the title, the glory, what was it that changed Test. Test said Foley is nuts, we all know that, and he's just jealous because his star is fading while Test's is rising. Foley says "We'll see about that". A match is set for Fully Loaded with Mick Foley as Mankind vs. Test for the World Title. Test wins the match thanks to some cheating on his part, and busts Foley open with a chair. The RAW the next night sees Foley come out, saying that last night, seeing a friend shed his blood like that, it woke up the beast inside him. He said that Test has awakened a monster, and that monster is CACTUS JACK! Vince and the McMahons plead to Mick not to do anything, that the kid doesn't know what's good for him, etc. Mick/Cactus says he'll beat some sense into Test if it's the last thing he does. Thanks to Test's constant cockiness, a streetfight is set for Summerslam. It's Cactus' match, and everyone is worried for poor Andrew, except himself. When Foley said it'd be the "Last thing I do", Test took that literally, and this could be Foley's last match should he lose. After being pummeled by Jack for over 20 minutes, a bloody Test can take no more. The hardcore legend is ready to nail Test with a barbedwire bat (Cactus went on a "tough love" kick, cutting some intense promos about showing Test what it would be like to shed blood for the sport), when Stephanie, who has stuck by her man, ran in and pleaded that Cactus stop. Cactus told her to leave before something happened, only to be cracked in the forehead with a steel chair. Test then picked up the barbed wire bat and swung it into Cactus' ribs twice, then hit the Pumphandle slam onto the chair for the win. Jack's career is over, and Stephanie is horrified by what her husband has done. The big announcement comes on the following RAW: STONE COLD IS COMING BACK! This doesn't seem to phase Test, as he brushes it off, saying that Austin is just a has been looking to cash in on past popularity. The McMahon's ask why he feels that way, but Test throws the Vince/Austin feud in his face, asking why he's so happy to see him. The hit and run search goes on pretty much as it did, with everyone being suspected. When the finger points at Test, even a newly face turned Triple H says that the kid wasn't THAT sadistic, and he was too much of a wimp to pull it off. When the fact that the driver was blonde comes out, Triple H continues to deny it was him, but never implies Test. Test, as usual for his cocky young heel persona, shrugs it off. The moment of truth comes...Test is implicated. He tries to brush it off, saying he was with Stephanie that night, but Stephanie reminds him that they showed up seperately that night. She came with her family, but she met Test in the garage when he got there. Test finally cracks under the pressure, admitting he ran over Austin...not only that, but the marriage, the friendship with the McMahon's...all it meant to him was more exposure and a quick rise to the top. He doesn't love Steph, he never did. Stephanie is heartbroken, the McMahon's are furious, and Austin is out for blood. Now THAT is what they should have done. T&A my ass!
