On Madden 2001 for PS1, I was in Season mode with the Browns. During a late-season game with the Patriots that I absolutley needed to win to get into the playoffs, I came back from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to lead 24-20 with like 8 seconds left. After the kickoff, New England had the ball on their own 15-yard line with about 4 seconds left. Bledsoe throws down the field for Terry Glenn, he catches it ... and fucking RAN OVER my cornerback before going all the way for a touchdown.

Just the other day on NBA Live 2002 (PS2), my Pacers were leading Orlando for all of Game 1 in our playoff series. Then with like 2 minutes left, the Magic decide that they're going to start making all of their shots and my team decides they can't shoot anymore. So my 8-point lead dwindles down to 1, and after Jermaine O'Neal missed a fucking LAYUP with 20 seconds left (why didn't he dunk it?), PATRICK FREAKIN' EWING hits a game-winner for them, AND blocks Jalen Rose's last second floater.

When you wanted to break your tv

The girlfriends tell me that the guys from Tag Team Wrestling are pretty bad.  The Strong Bads especially.

You start to think that you're making a real connection with 'em, but they're gone the next morning without even leaving a note.

Yep.

I don't know if this counts, but I hate when I have a shutout going in a blowout football game, and the computer breaks it with a FG instead of going for it on fourth down.

its not a sports game, but the final boss in Tekken Tag is a bitch and usually beats me when we both have like 2% left

Get this...I am playing NBA 2k1 on Dreamcast.  I have built the most incredible team on the game and my Suns have a  72-10 record(oh yeah, Jason Williams was leading the league in points, assist, steals, and free throw percentage at the allstar break and they still let Payton start over me AND I didn't even make it as a reserve...but thats not the point, just venting) We go in the playoffs and play the nuggets in the first round.  I win the first 3 games...but notice I am playing them again.  I look a little harder and some kinda glich in the game said they won the first two games despite the fact that I blew them out both time.  I AM PISSED.  So I have to play a game 5...I win by 40...and get eliminated from the playoffs.  After months of going through the season, I get eliminated after going 5-0 in the playoffs.  My management screen at least notices that I was undefeted, but I didn't get to win the championship.  Now I am right back to week one of a new season...

I had season troubles with NCAA 2k2 recently. I have been playing Legacy mode as the UCONN Huskies and I have built a nice squad. My team was number one in the polls and I was simulating all my games, but my quaterback broke his wrist and we ended up losing a game and dropping to fifth. I ended up saving my progress by accident, so I couldn't reset it and let the game be played again. I was upset because my quarterback had won the Heisman Trophy two years in a row and he was a senior that year.

Biggest heartbreak ever?

This surely has to be it.

In the original Gran Turismo, I had raced through the entire Endurance Race for the longest night track.

As a result of my driving style, I completely wear down my tyres every 12 laps(average, sometimes it's 7, sometomes it's 20).

Anyway I had a 20 second lead over the 2nd place car when I started the final lap, my tyres had been worn down to the very end, both the tyre indicators were maroon-red in colour.

I decided not to pit on the penultimate lap because I would have lost too much time.

I corner really carefully and I'm on a lap about 5 seconds slower than usual, but that was fine.

Suddenly around the last corner I drift wide, clip the wall and spin.

I recover the spin after 2 rotations and try to accelerate down the final straight knowing the computer car is coming.

Just as I get back upto 100mph, the 2nd placed car slips by.

But lucky for me the straight is long, I get in the new leader's slip and I start to catch up.

As I get closer, the finish gets closer.

I pull out the slip of the leader and pull alongside as we cross the line...

...I lost.

By 0.002 seconds.

That really sucked, and I almost picked up the telly and threw it down the stairs.

I was playing my friend in NCAA 2K2 ffor Dreamcast. He was Hawaii and I was Cincinnati. I was down by 14 with around a minute left. I score and kick it back off hoping to rely on my defense. Well he ends up punting and it was a crap punt. I am running it back to surely tie it up. Until....his center swipes at my guys foot and he does that juke/stumble crap and STEPS OUT OF BOUNDS WITH NO ONE IN FRONT OF HIM!!!!! Time ran out and I lost, I was so pissed.

on NBA 2K2, I was the Raptors and was beating the Bulls by three. On a side note, I must suck or something at that game, because Rookie level is way too easy, but Pro is hard as hell for some reason. Anyway, I'm up by three with like 14 seconds left. They have the ball and Greg Anthony is trying to work that screen play with Brad Miller that I can never defend. But I actually cut Anthony off this time, so Miller is stuck. What's he do? He gives it to FRED HOIBERG, who not only HITS A DAMN FADEAWAY THREE ... but gets FOULED by Vince Carter! Of course, Hoiberg hits the free throw and I lose. I didn't play that game for two weeks after that.

That's the only problem with Sega sports games. No challenge in rookie, too hard on Pro. In NFL or NCAA 2K2 on Pro the computer throws 4 out of 5 passes complete at least, even if they're circus one handed grabs.

I especially hate in the basketball sega games that the computer can hit anything in the paint, double teamed, hand in the face, fadeaway...what ever... but my 6'11 small forward will miss a 2 foot shot if a 5'10 guard is in his face.

The highest level on those games are ridiculously hard.  You will fumble, miss wide open passes in football, or blow layups, throw the ball away, or always get stripped in basketball.

Yet, we all continue to play.

Those Ricky Fighters can be real bastards too. But the Strong Bads have their number. Especially Worley. ;p

The Strong Bads have lots of numbers ... but they never call.

They're not worth it, ladies.

I'm not sure if this counts or not, but the last time I played Madden 2002 I went into the off-season and my starting halfback, Lamar Smith, retired and my other two halfbacks were holding out for more money. My speed guy wanted $3.4 million, up from his current $500 k salary, and my power guy wanted $3 million, up from his $650 k salary.

Looks like I'll be doing some shopping for a new backfield.

Greedy bastards.

Eh... i give them low money and lots of years if anything good doesn't come in the draft.  Then I wait to next year and draft a fairly good back for 4-5 years and drop those greedy bastards.  I have a good O line so a decent back is gonna get his 1000.

Yeah, that's what I do too. I just had these two for 4-5 years and now they want more $$$. I had a line of J. Ogden (LT), Tre Johnson (RG, moved to left), Tom Nalen ©, Some drafted guy, and Verba (RT). Verba contract is up and I'm not renewing it because he's so overpriced, so I'll be plugging it up with a young hoss I drafted last year.

I'll just find another power back, speed back and balanced back to complement Alstott and David Talton. Much like VKM, I'll make SUPERSTARS out of unknowns.

BTW: I just found out you can't trade holdouts -- shoot.

But you can release them. :-).  I once did that and resigned him for less money he was holding out for.

I'm a damn draft guru in those games. I always get multiple first round draft picks and make moves. If there's no one I want, I trade them sumbitches or draft someone who I can trade to another team. Quareterbacks are a hot commmodity.

I just started playing my Franchise with the Raiders in Madden 2001 again. I am in the off-season and I have 8 first fround draft picks. Apparently the CPU sucks at front office stuff. I already had the 1st and 4th picks of the draft becuse I made trades with the worst teams in the league right before the deadline. When it was time to sign free agents, I would sign players and trade them along with draft picks and now I have picks 1,4,5,6,12,13,14,16 and 19. My strong safety that was holding out? His ass is going to be cut! Anyone with big contracts that are over 30? They could be cut! HA HA HA HA HA!

Well, what I just did was sign my holdout to a 1-year deal and then traded him for a team's 1st round pick. I love drafting people who have crazy contract demands, then not sign them, and then watch their career dwindle away on the Free Agent board. Some DT is doing that right now.

I fiddle around with my draft picks too. I max out my roster at the start of the year, test a few players out in the first few games, then trade all the ones I'm not going to use by the deadline. After the season I do that again with players I know I won't be keeping. Personally, I try to maintain 5/6 picks for the draft ranging from rounds 1-4. Anymore rookies and I'd go crazy.

Interesting note: During Week 2 of Year Five this afternoon my Defensive Captian, SS Rodney Harrison, Just went down for 10 weeks due to a hip injury. After my game I signed a backup for my backup. Right after I did the Packers released John Lynch because he had an injury that sidelined him 2 weeks and Green Bay had no cap money to get a replacement. Now granted both SS will probably call it a career after this season, but damn, I can't wait to play a zone with both of them on the field!
