Guest Report post Posted May 18, 2002 Do you think it will be Anakin vs Obi or Vader vs Obi?
Guest Report post Posted May 18, 2002 Anakin will fight Obi since he was not criticly injured enough to use thge bodysuit. He will be renmaed Darth Vader probaly but will still look like Anakin. I haven't seen the movie yet though......the only movie place is too far to walk to without the car.
Guest Ravenbomb Report post Posted May 18, 2002 I haven't seen the movie, but someone at school assumed I had and asked 'Does tha dude (sans that last d mind you) turn into Darth Vader?' and I said 'Yes, and then he kills Obi Wan' and he was like 'What?!' and then I reminded him of Star Wars and laughed at him after he left. Anakin gets injured in Send in the Clones?
Guest treble charged Report post Posted May 19, 2002 Yeah, his hand gets cut off, a la Luke. The best parts of Episode II is the foreshadowing of Anakin turning into Darth Vader. I marked out when they played the evil Vader music for the first time.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted May 19, 2002 Yeah, his hand gets cut off, a la Luke. The best parts of Episode II is the foreshadowing of Anakin turning into Darth Vader. I marked out when they played the evil Vader music for the first time. *SPOILERS* Correction: EDIT: FOREarm cut off.. treble. Yeah... that was great. Anakin declaring his hate for the Tusken Raiders as the "Imperial March" cued up.. awesome.
Guest treble charged Report post Posted May 19, 2002 Correction: arm cut off.. treble. Well, it was his arm at his elbow, so it was close enough.
Guest Ravenbomb Report post Posted May 19, 2002 If it was at his elbow then it was his forearm, not his arm. The arm is from the elbow to the shoulder
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted May 19, 2002 Taking an educated guess, I would say Anakin kills Dooku, then gets messed up by Obi-Wan.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted May 20, 2002 Spiff, your custom title kills everyone elses including mine. God bless, Phil Hartman. "Taking an educated guess, I would say Anakin kills Dooku, then gets messed up by Obi-Wan." Probably. Just the idea that Obi-Wan and Anakin are gonna duke it out, balls to the walls, in the next installment is enough to sell me.
Guest Black Lushus Report post Posted May 20, 2002 I would guess that Anakin is put in a similar situation as Luke was in ROTJ, where the Emperor tried to talk Luke into slaying Vader in order to complete his journey to the dark side and of course Luke refuses. In this instance it would be Anakin killing Dooku at Darth Sidious's request, in order to complete his journey and become Darth Vader. Anakin gives into his hate and kills Dooku... Guest treble charged Report post Posted May 20, 2002 Is there any other way that episode iii can end except to show Anakin in complete Darth Vader garb for the first time?
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted May 20, 2002 From what I was told, Anakin fights Obi Wan and kills him, but gets badly injured and needs the suit. I don't know if they will show him in the Darth Vader suit alot, but I am betting that they will show it at least once. I think this movie gave me more of what i wanted than the last one did. I wanted to see where Darth Vader came from. Last time, they had some punk ass apple-headed kid running around yelling, "Yippee!" There really wasn't any great Jedi stuff in the last movie. I am hoping Yoda gets to fight again in the next movie. When Yoda was getting ready to fight, everybody in the theater was saying, "oh shit!" I think this movie could be the best one so far out of the series.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 20, 2002 Well it could just end with Anakin falling into that canyon(i think thats what they say happened to him in the originals). But i doubt they'd end it like that.
Guest DrTom Report post Posted May 20, 2002 "From what I was told, Anakin fights Obi Wan and kills him..." Since Obi-Wan lives to see Episode 4, how can this happen?
Guest treble charged Report post Posted May 20, 2002 I'm telling you, the only way that Episode 3 can end is with the first shot of Anakin in the Darth Vader suit, with the evil Vader music playing in the background. BTW, how much time between episode 2 and 4 needs to pass? Obi Wan needs to get a whole lot older, and Luke and Leia need to be born and grow up, too.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted May 20, 2002 I slipped up there, I was doing two things at once and didn't catch that mistake.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 20, 2002 I can see Episode 3 ending with that familiar breathing coming from off screen and then as the dramatic music hits full stride Vader in full outfit comes into view. We stay focused on Vader for a few moments then fade to black then cue up the end credits. But they could also do the big fight and the death of Anakin mid way into the movie. Then for rest of movie they show Anakin being transformed into Vader, show his climb to power and build towards what was happening at the start of part 4. My guess is that they combine those two options.
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted May 20, 2002 I hope the Anakin and OB1 fight happens about halfway through the movie. Then towards the end is when Vader comes out and goes on his killing rampage (hopefully including Jar Jar Binks). There is a lot of stuff that could be packed into this movie, I hope it's about 3 hours long.
Guest Steve J. Rogers Report post Posted May 20, 2002 BTW, classic quote in II: Obi Wan tells Anakin "Why do I have a feeling that you'll be the death of me?" and I swear, I was the ONLY person in the theatre that chuckled at the subtle irony. Also the theatre I got went into causual/non wrestling fan mode when Yoda went all kick-ass Jedi at the end. I mean it was like watching someone laugh their asses off at a midget match while you are waiting to mark out to Benoit vs Angle. Gee I DON'T remeber crowds doing that when Yoda was casually picking up Luke's X-Wing out of the swamp! Steve
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted May 20, 2002 I say EP. 3 ends with Obi-Wan somehow getting Anakin in a pit and taking his lightsaber. Then, the Emperor saves Anakin... and at the end, Anakin is seen in his Darth Vader outfit with the "Imperial March" playing in the background. I'd say the movie takes 10 yrs. later after EP. 2.. And, I also got that subtle ironic comedy, Steve.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted May 20, 2002 Spiff, your custom title kills everyone elses including mine. God bless, Phil Hartman. Thanks! I was debating between that and "You Look So Good To Me", but since I use "You Look..." over at WDI, I went this one.
Guest DrTom Report post Posted May 20, 2002 According to IMDB, Episode III is supposed to take place two years after Episode II, with a 20-year gap between III and IV. I'm guessing III will focus on Anakin's descent to the Dark Side and Emperor Palpatine's rise to power. I would expect to see Anakin as Vader only toward the end. It would be cool to see him start slaughtering the Jedi, though.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted May 20, 2002 The final shot in ep III should be of Obi-Wan holding Luke and Leia with Vader in the background.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted May 20, 2002 I think everyone wants to se Vader. That's the only reason why I wanted to see these movies. I was never a big Staw Wars fan, but I don't think anyone can pass up the chance to see the origin of a guy who is shrouded in mystery like Darth Vader. Gee I DON'T remeber crowds doing that when Yoda was casually picking up Luke's X-Wing out of the swamp! That's because he was an annoying old peice of shit in the Empire Strikes Back. When you hear Jerry Lawler yelling puppies all the time, you don't care when he gets in the ring, but I'll bet if you saw his ass piledriving people 20-30 years ago, you would mark out for that shit. Guest KK Rage Report post Posted May 20, 2002 This is straight out of this little "Star Wars" encyclopedia I had when I was in middle school. Obi Wan is supposed to get in a duel with Anakin on top of or near a volcano and Anakin ends up falling in, which is why he needs the life support. By the way, according to IMDB.com, James Earl Jones has signed on for Episode III, which means we will probably get at least a "What is thy bidding, my master?" Guest Report post Posted May 21, 2002 I was about to say what KK Rage did, but he did it for me. I say Episode III has Luke and Leia born at the end of the movie, because if there's a 20 year break between III and IV, and Luke is 18... wait a second. Hrm. I guess the break will have to be 18. I've always envisioned Episode III ending with the first cries of Luke and Leia being heard as they're loaded onto seperate ships, one headed for Alderaan, the other for Tatooine. Meanwhile, Obi-Wan fights Anakin to keep him from getting to his children, since Luke was predicted to be even stronger than Anakin. And of course, while all of this other stuff goes on, now-Emperor Palpatine slaughters the Galactic Senate and installs new people, all Imperial officials, thus making the transition complete. The ending sequence of Episode III is going to have to be an hour and a half long to accomplish all that it needs to.
Guest Report post Posted May 21, 2002 Darth Vader is a cultural icon along with Marlon Brando from Godfather and Louie Spicoli from Animal House. I predict more people will go see Episode III more than any other Star Wars movie in history because it is because of Vader that the pop culture phemenom known as Star Wars began in 1977. I envision that the big fight between Vader and Anakin will take place towards the middle. From what I read from the offical Star Wars website, Anakin changes his name to Darth Vader after recieving the powers of the Sith from Palpatine and then challenges Obi-Wan to a lightsaber duel. I was wondering how Anakin's voice changed when he put on the Darth Vader helmet, but maybe 20 years will take place in about 90 minutes.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted May 21, 2002 And of course, while all of this other stuff goes on, now-Emperor Palpatine slaughters the Galactic Senate and installs new people, all Imperial officials, thus making the transition complete. Palpatine dissolves the Galactic Senate in "A New Hope".
Guest Report post Posted May 21, 2002 Aha, but Episode III is not IV.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted May 21, 2002 Meaning the Senate doesn't get slaughtered. It must stay intact through Ep. 3 to be abolished in Ep. 4.
