I got the harry potter dvd...

I was able to get myself a copy of the Harry Potter DVD this weekend, and I gotta say, unless you're a 9 year old, the special features suck ass.

The movie looks good, and the sound is fine, but the "special features" are nothing but stupid interactive kiddy games. There are deleted scenes, but you have to play the games to access them. Do they think only kids like this movie? Maybe an "adult" version will be released later.

Anyway, if you like the movie, get it for the quality widescreen transfer, not the 2nd disc.

Btw, in Canada, the DVD is called "Philosopher's Stone", not the retarded "Sorcerer's Stone" that it was called in the U.S. because it was decided Amercan's don't understand what a Philosopher is.

Maybe he likes the fantasy genre that wizards, elves, ogres, trolls, etc. fall under, Rob.

But still...YOU'RE A HORROR BUFF!!! DON'T BE WASTING PRECIOUS HORROR MOVIE MONEY ON THIS MAINSTREAM WASTE!!!

Umm, unless you have seen Harry Potter, don't criticize it. It's an excellent fantasy film with a great story. To blow it off as mainstream and childish is very ignorant.

No no no. The book is excellent. The film is very poor and about as mainstream as you can possibly get.

Some of you are too closed minded about movies. Who cares if kids star in a movie it doesn't automatically make a movie bad or childish. I suppose that The Goonies sucked too because it had kids. Spy Kids starred kids and it was a fun little movie.

Just because something is mainstream doesn't automatically make it suck.

I absolutely hate anything Harry Potter. I read the first book and I got so bored of it. It is nothing but a horrible fad.

I'd much rather have fairly intelligent books like Potter be a fad than Pokemon, backyard wrestling, anorexia, or whatever.

Pokemon and backyard wrestling suck too. But Harry Potter is just a horrible piece of junk.
