Greatest tv theme songs

Recommended Posts

Guest Choken One

There have been so many great Tv theme songs, so I was wondering what were your favs?

Mine? M*A*S*H had a great one (And can anyone tell me who sings the Full lyrical version of that song? It's in the movie).

The following FOX series:

X-Men

Spider-Man

Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers (had the same thing up until Zeo)

The following other shows:

Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air (I know all of the words to the standard version of this song, somehow)*

ExoSquad

*

Now this is a story all about how

My life got flipped, turned upside down

And I'd like to take a minute, so just sit right there

And I'll tell ya how I became a Prince in the town called Bel-Air

In West Philadelphia, born and raised

On the playground is where I spent most of my days

Chillin' out, relaxing, shooting some hoops

Playing some B-Ball, I thought I was cool

Then a couple of guys, who were up to no good

Started makin' trouble in my neighborhood

I got in one little fight, and my mom got scared

She said "you're movin' with your Auntie and Uncle in Bel-Air"

I whistled for a cab, and then it came near

The license plate said "FRESH" and he had a dice in the mirror

If anything, I can say the discount was rare

But I thought "Nah, forget it, YO HOMES TO BEL-AIR!"

I pulled up to the house abotu 7 or 8 or...

And I yelled to the cabbie "Yo homes, smell ya later!"

Arrived at my kingdom, I was finally there

To sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel-Air!

hey, I hate to sound like a bitch, but you messed up some of the Fresh Prince lyrics

it goes:

Chillin' out, maxin', relaxin' all cool

and all, shooting some b-ball, outside of the school

also,

discount=this cab,

arrived at=looked at

... theyre easy mistakes to make, the closed captioning for the show screws up nearly every line

and my favorite tv theme: Sanford and Son

>Fresh Prince. Hands down.

There was a longer version that they had in the pilot episode, with a second verse, from the one you've got above.

Let's see...

- In Living Color (first theme song)

- Welcome Back, Kotter

- Cheers

- The wonderfully cheesy 60's Batman and Spider-Man themes

- Gundam Wing

- the Flash

and I can't forget

- Hockey Night in Canada

I liked Night Rider's(or was it Viper?) and that show Zoids on Cartoon Network.  Another two are the Highlander show that used to be on USA and the newer Jonny Quest shows that is now also a dead series.  Also, that Japanese Gundam Wings.

How did no one mention Who's the Boss, and I don't feel like going back to check but did anybody mention Golden Girls. I never even liked the show but the theme song was cool.

Somehow I forgot to mention Night Court.  LOVED the bass intro...

And while it's not a great theme, my brother managed to remember the entire Doogie Howser theme after watching the Undercover Brother ads.  Just wanted to mention that...

It's called "Tank!"

Dunno why the ! is in the title, but oh well.

For personal favorites, I'm adding the "Law and Order" theme (none of the spinoffs, just the original), and the old X-Men theme... the cartoon that came on Fox, Saturday mornings, I guess about 6-9 years ago.

Whoa... I remember that now that you mention it, that was a damn good theme.  What's with animation and good themes? I know some of those X-men cartoons were released on video back in the day, anyone know off hand if they are still in print or (yea right) a DVD release is planned? Maybe they could be released to cash in on X-Men 2 next year, so we remember how the X-Men are supposed to be.
