MTV and VH1 to reair Live8 in full

Good news for anyone in the US, as MTV and VH1 are reairing the full Live8 concerts, apparantly the coverage was a little shitty, shame there wasnt an international feed of the bbc for it, as they just showed the whole thing live for 8 hours then the whole philidelphia concert live, with the only presenter time when they were changing over the sets.

MTV and VH1 in the US will re-air ten consecutive hours of musical performances this weekend from the Live 8 concerts.

 

The move comes after a wave of criticism from critics and viewers that the MTV telecast of Live 8 on July 2 was too pre-occupied with giving airtime to VJs and backstage interviews at the expense of the actual music.

 

"At MTV and VH1, we're in a constant and candid dialogue with our audience," said Van Toffler, president of the MTV Networks Music Group. "In the wake of our coverage last Saturday, our viewers have resoundingly told us on-line they want to see full performances from their favorite artists. As a result of viewer demand and thanks to the Live 8 organizers and performers, MTV and VH1 will air 10 consecutive hours from one of the most important musical events of our time."

Is MTV/VH1 going to show it as it was, or are they going to just show certain songs by certain artists?

 

If it's the latter, they'll probably give a musical legend like Stevie Wonder 1 song and then play the entire set of immortals like the BEP and Destiny's Child.

Well, as I said, they showed it on Saturday and IIRC they showed full sets but obviously skipped over a few sets.
