Guest Posted May 21, 2002 Report Posted May 21, 2002 I don't see why they can't bring up Benoit Yet. Have him return, start some storylines involving him and whom ever the plan is. He doesn't need to wrestle a match yet. He can work the Smackdown Tapings and go back to Ohio or where ever to train until, KOTR.

Guest Ash Ketchum Posted May 21, 2002 Report Posted May 21, 2002 I find it ironic in that while we all like this, most everyone thought it was the end of the WWE... And when we hate something... lots of other people like it. Funny, huh?
Guest Posted May 21, 2002 Report Posted May 21, 2002 I missed the first hour. Didn't hear a big pop for RVD when he came out for the match. Pretty big pop actually, and Undertaker seemed to have some actual heat. Plus, the huge 'R V D' chants. And then the title win, people went apeshit before noticing that old white haired guy by the squared cir..um, squared ring. Yes.
Guest whatever Posted May 21, 2002 Report Posted May 21, 2002 EXCEPT!!!!!!! Anyone else notice they said next Tuesday the WWE (Smackdown Taping) is at Calgery, Canada? If there was EVER a guarantied place you could have Benoit make his return to a monster POP it would be here. Maybe, they announce it this Thursday on Smackdown, Benoit will return next week. Good week of build up! Raw is in Edmonton next week, Benoits hometown. Thats two back to back places he would get monster pops
Guest Ravenbomb Posted May 22, 2002 Report Posted May 22, 2002 Yeah, but since when does WCWFe adhere to their storylines?
Guest Brian Posted May 22, 2002 Report Posted May 22, 2002 Well, Benoit's a signature in-ring performer, so if you're going to bring him back it should be when he's ready for an in-ring role. Bring him back when he's ready to wrestle. Otherwise, you're just overexposing him in an element where, frankly, even though we don't know how much he's improved, that he's just not natural in. Maybe a week prior to his in-ring he could show up but it's useless any sooner.
Guest dreamer420 Posted May 22, 2002 Report Posted May 22, 2002 Having Benoit cut a 10 minutes promo on every show for a month or two before he actually started wrestling would have even the most cynical of smarks changing the channel.
Guest Anglesault Posted May 22, 2002 Report Posted May 22, 2002 Having Benoit cut 10 minute promos would amke me turn the blender on to "Mince"
Guest Posted May 23, 2002 Report Posted May 23, 2002 I didn't watch Smackdown last week. I didn't watch Raw this week. I probably won't wtach Smackdown tonight. Yet...I don't care! I'll probably watch next week, though, on the very off-chance that Benoit will return. (Crosses fingers.)
