Guest Report post Posted May 20, 2002 First of all, we make the King of the Ring get a guaranteed Title Shot at Summerslam. Second of all, we have 3 rounds on one night (that's seven matches) plus a World Title match and some other special deal. And here's your elite field of 16 RAW! conference Rob Van Dam Eddie Guererro [iC Champion] Steve Austin Brock Lesnar Bubba Dudley [Regained HC Champion] Booker T William Regal [Euro Champion] The Big Show SMACKDOWN! conference Kurt Angle Chris Jericho Edge Randy Orton Lance Storm The Hurricane [CW Champion] Chris Benoit (if healthy; otherwise D-Von Dudley) Hulk Hogan (no, I'm serious) The week before King of the Ring, we have qualifying matches on each show: RAW: Steve Austin vs The Big Show: Austin wins Brock Lesnar vs Bubba Dudley: Lesnar wins easily (non-title) Rob Van Dam vs Wiliam Regal: RVD wins Eddie Guererro vs Booker T: Eddie wins when NWO run in backfires, enhancing the face heat Booker has earned during this match from Eddie's cheating. SMACKDOWN: Randy Orton vs Chris Benoit (or D-von): Orton squeaks by with a win, but is injured ("crippled?") gravely in the process. He continues to sell this at the ppv. Kurt Angle vs Hulk Hogan: in a "shocking upset" Angle beats Hogan badly. Chris Jericho vs Edge: An angry Jericho destroys Edge The Hurricane vs Lance Storm: Hurricane squeaks by in a back and forth classic. KING OF THE RING: Steve Austin vs Brock Lesnar Rob Van Dam vs Eddie Guererro [iC champ] Chris Jericho vs Randy Orton Kurt Angle vs The Hurricane [CW champ] Hulk Hogan vs Vince McMahon Triple H vs The Undertaker [World Champion] Rob Van Dam and Eddie Guererro wrestle right up to the time limit but RVD rolls through and gets the pin with seconds left on the clock. Eddie G. remains IC champion. Steve Austin advances on a DQ when the NWO gets involved. Lesnar is angry. [this becomes important later]. [[Ominous Promo with The Crippler Chris Benoit]] [[Or D-von]] Chris Jericho exploits Randy Orton's injuries and wins by submission, basically squashing Orton, who is cast as the unfortunate rookie who had no chance because he came in hurt. Awwww. Sympathy face. Kurt Angle overpowers a game Hurricane. Who is also preoccupied by the "archnemesis" fear (although this nemesis doesn't actually show up, much less run in). [[Jim Ross gets word of something disturbing going on backstage. Turns out it's Brock Lesnar beating the shit out of Steve Austin.]] Rob Van Dam pulls off "a shocking upset" when Austin shows the wear and tear of being butchered by Lesnar and then the nWo in the first round. Chris Jericho and Kurt Angle go to the limit but Jericho wins out. Even though both men are heels, there is a curious show of respect and lack of anger after the match...Jim Ross speculates on this for a while before he reverts to shilling Tough Enough or whatever. Alternately, Angle just lays down for Jericho, drawing mucho heel heat for both. “Dammit, this match was supposed to break them up!” “wuahahaha, you can’t stop us that easily!” Hulk Hogan beats Vince McMahon with leg drop, in a match that is mercifully brief. Time permitting, a brief bit of silliness as Rikishi and Rico defend the tag belts against Billy and Chuck. This is also kept very short. Rob Van Dam vs Chris Jericho: Epic back and forth battle. Numerous false finishes, including one with an Eddie G. run in. But eventually Jericho finishes RVD off with the Walls. Triple H vs Undertaker: Triple H beats Undertaker with a sledgehammer or something, who cares. Loose Ends: Lesnar and the NWO: this is resolved on the next Raw. The NWO thinks Lesnar is joining them. Lesnar destroys them one by one as punishment for costing him the win against Austin. Lesnar gets mucho heat as the guy who wiped out in one night the stable that Austin has struggled against for months. Austin vs Lesnar will happen soon... Angle and Jericho's heel respect: Angle goes on to be sort of Jericho's right hand man, sort of Anderson to Jericho's Flair. Benoit hooks up with them later, as he was "part of the plan" injuring Orton. Or if Angle just laid down for him, he explains it all in a promo and joins the team. RVD now has a clean win over Eddie G after two straight PPV losses. But Eddie remains IC champion. Dontcha just wanna see what happens next between the two? (hint: It's a 2 of 3 falls bout at fully loaded). Oh, and somewhere along the way the rosters start getting remerged. Why? Because, silly buns, I'm building towards Jericho beating HHH at summerslam and forming The Fozzymen along the way (Jericho, Angle, Lesnar, Benoit, with Storm as a 5th tagging with Benoit or replacing Angle in a few months when the olympics began to call). Of course this will never happen. But this is "Fantasy" booking after all. Dream while you can...
Guest Ash Ketchum Report post Posted May 20, 2002 Amen, Bobby. They should replace Stephanie and HHH with you.
Guest Report post Posted May 21, 2002 Fozzy Men! hahahah! I had a similar idea for Jericho to start "Y2J's Canadian Posse" with Christian, Lance Storm, and Benoit. Alternate name: The Canadian Horsemen
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted May 23, 2002 I like it, except RVD beats Jericho. Oh, and I don't want to see Hogan vs McMahon, although god forbid it looks like it could happen. Why not have Flair and McMahon vs Hogan and Austin in a tag match? I didnt just suggest that...crap...
