Campaign 2008

Speaking of bringing families, I always wondered why Palin has to bring her Pregnant daughter almost everywhere she goes? Like people are really going to cheer some girl that got knocked up out of wedlock. I didn't think the base really liked that?

Today's big John McCain emailing discusses his new idea of bailouts for individual mortgage holders. How will Glen Beck, and thus Marvin, flip flop to approve of this major govt expansion?

The same way that Obama supporters have flip flopped to support Obama's various economic plans and stances on trade embargos, I suppose.

The Cuba embargo In January 2004, Obama said it was time "to end the embargo with Cuba" because it had "utterly failed in the effort to overthrow Castro." Speaking to a Cuban American audience in Miami in August 2007, he said he would not "take off the embargo" as president because it is "an important inducement for change."

A politician flip-flopping on an issue isn't exactly something new...

Yeah, flip-flopping on trade embargoes with Cuba and changing your entire economic philosophy in the matter of two weeks is really the same thing.

Just noting an example that all politicians flip-flop, that's all.

I do wish politicians would have the guts to change their stance on Cuba and risk forsaking the support of basically one freaking city in Florida...

I got a flier from the NRA today.

It stated (IN LARGE BLACK BOLD LETTERS) if we allow Obama to win our guns will cost 5000 DOLLARS and a box of bullets will be 500 DOLLARS

I loved the absurbness of it.

I think large parts of the republican base are just so completely obsessed with abortion that all other social issues get tossed away. Before, they would shun this girl and her family as an example of the morals that are tearing the country apart, but now anti-abortion absolutism causes those people to hold her up as a shining example because she chose (well clearly she had no choice in the matter) not to have an abortion.

To a lot of conservatives now, people can be good christians and still be fucking when they're teens and spitting out babies, as long as they seem sorry about it.

Rolls right off the tongue.

I want to know who that blond chick with the big boobies is in that clip.

McCain pisses off scientists over "overhead projector" jab

I'm sure McCain could have found some better pork from Obama's record to blast. I think when pepole heard that the "overhead projector" was for a planetarium they knew it was one of those expensive and hightech star projector thingys.

I was usig the 4 minutes time between your post and mine to find a hot picture of her, so in that respect I think we all win.

And the worst part about it is that most Cuban-Americans are in favor of ending the goddamn embargo. We'd love for the government there to go fuck itself, but the embargo is punishing the people in Cuba moreso than it is punishing the government. And on top of that, Miami-Dade County went for Kerry in 04.

So that's about the third negative thing I have with Obama (after the FISA bill and the public financing b.s.). It's not a big issue to most people, but in my interests, it is. Still going to vote for him over McCain, though.

McCain trying to rationalize his campaign's mudslinging:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081009/ap_on_el_pr/mccain

Loud cheers from 4,000 people gathered at a sports complex near Milwaukee greeted McCain's attacks over Ayers, who helped found the Weather Underground, a Vietnam protest group that bombed government buildings 40 years ago. Obama has noted that he was a child at the time and first met Ayers and his wife, ex-radical Bernadine Dohrn, a quarter-century later.

"Look, we don't care about an old, washed-up terrorist and his wife," McCain said. "That's not the point here."

"He's a terrorist!" a man in the audience screamed without making clear to whom he was referring.

(in response to the angry man at the McCain Town Hall meeting)

There should be more people like that who are willing to stand up and be heard instead of the whinny BS "nobody in washington listens to the average person anymore..wah wah wah wah wah"

YOU CANT BE FUCKING HEARD UNLESS YOU STAND UP AND SAY SOMETHING like that guy did.

I hardly think the number one threat to this country right now are either the socialists (all 7 of them) or the Democratic Party.

the US Government now has a vested interest in the Mortgage Industry, and there are talks of the Government buying into banks in the next few weeks.

If you dont see that as leading down the path to socialism, then I guess we just wait til they offer to buy some other industry up.

How about the Auto Industry? Reports are saying the Global Auto industry will COLLAPSE by next year. The government would almost certainly have to buy out the Big 3 to keep all those high paying jobs from disapearing overnight...though you know somewhere up a tree there is an environmentalist going crazy at the thought of there being no more cars to pollute the Earth..but I digress..

You're trying to pass off speculation as fact.

You realize having a "vested interest" is not socializing an industry? If we were socializing an industry, there wouldn't be any other companies. Plus, socializing something is sort of permanent, something this isn't.

You're trying to pass off speculation as fact.

That's the definition of all his posts.

You missed my use of the term "LEADING DOWN THE PATH TO".

And something tells me that when the Government buys into the banks, they won't be cashing out anytime soon.
