VPW would like to officially announce the opening of its new training school, which will be held every Saturday in Gosport, Hampshire.

 

We will be running two 6-month classes, one for beginners and one for advance, each running 3 hours apiece. The start date for this course is Saturday August 20th.

 

The VPW head instructor is THE UK KID, graduate of the SHAWN MICHAELS Wrestling Academy in Texas June 2000, a guy who turned pro at 16, has over 7 years of experience within the business. This guy has spent most of his time abroad working the states and only recently begun to spend more time in UK. The UK Kid has taught at ACW Texas, UPW California, and also when on site had a helping hand at DORY FUNK’S Funking Conservatory and also in UK was former head instructor at RBW southwest.

 

Within the course you will learn a professional trade, then master and hone your craft and become an individual within the sport. The followed curriculum will be that used by Shawn Michaels, by WWE and professional wrestling in general. You will also learn about weight and diet management also the professionalism that goes with the business. We also will be running regular shows and bringing in guys like D'Lo Brown for guest sessions!!!

 

VPW has many connections within the UK and USA so there is no telling how far your training may take you, but be prepared, being a professional wrestler is one of the hardest things you will ever do and it certainly is not for every one!!!!

 

But if you want to become a professional wrestler or master your craft, VPW is the ONLY place to be!!!!!!!!

 

What does your future hold?

 

Prices are £110 per month, a total of £660 divided between 6 months. When class begins no more student will be let in, so that VPW's full attention can be on the class at hand not chopping and changing for new guys every week. On top of that we work from the ground up, you will learn the fundamentals of a professional wrestler and learn to crawl before you walk, so do not expect to learn suicide dives before you can even work!

The training includes a 3-hour in ring session the training is done on a one to one basis and not 30 people walking around doing their own thing, the training will start with physical cardio vascular work, advancing to your basic rolls and warm up drills, then once in the ring starting from learning which way to get up, how to take a head lock correctly, locking up etc, the basics which a lot of wrestlers lack nowadays, as its the little things that make a worker a worker, and not just a guy who has done a few sessions and got a pair of boots off ebay classing himself as a wrestler. To become a real professional wrestler you need to be the total package, know all the basics like the back of your hand, while becoming an entertainer, and a sportsman and learning that as a wrestler your body is your tool like a knife to a chef. To be in this business what you do in the ring is not where it ends, how you present yourself and act is also part of being a professional and reflects on the business and every one around it.

 

Unlike other training schools, who have had some good guys, we will not be doing suicide dives, acrobatics, or anything like that until guys are match ready and ready to work, we are here to teach guys who are interested in wrestling a trade which one day may make them a nice amount of money. And again unlike other training schools, our course is only 6 months, not ever lasting 2 or 3 years, we bring you in, work with you and develop your talents to make you ready to take to the stage. Of course it’s not for every one as they say but with the right attributes and attitude, within 6 months you'll be in the ring-working matches.

 

So a total combined price over 6 months is £660, £110 a month slightly over £25 a session (3 hours in ring) the price is certainly not a lot and with regular guests including D'lo Brown planned for extra sessions it is well within a bargain. We have 8 students already, 5 of which have passed over from the RBW South West school in Exeter run by UK KID. One of these students is a young athlete by the name of Chris Andrews, he is the 1st student trained by the UK KID in this country to make his in ring debut, his training is still not over but has 8 matches already under his belt including RBW South West, RBW London, Premier Promotions and All Star all of which invited him back with flying colours. Chris Andrews is the start of what to expect from the VPW School Of Excellence, if you have seen this kid work, actions speak louder than words and you will understand why the facility is named the School Of Excellence.
