Guest TheDames7 Report post Posted May 21, 2002 Personally, I dont know about you guys, but I feel that we should condense the boards, not separate any more. I mean, think about it, if 5 people post in the comic/joke forum, and 3 in the MMA forum, can't we just throw that in with some off-topic forum? Guest areacode212 Report post Posted June 3, 2002 Yeah, Tony suggested that we condense MMA with one of the other forums, like perhaps Independents (if you subscribe to the Meltzer thinking that "MMA" = "pro wrestling") or Sports (if you don't). However, Comic Books is staying separate, as long as I'm around I mean, I think my very first post here when we moved from ezboard was me bugging Mike the admin to hurry up and add the Comic folder. It doesn't really fit in with any other category anyway. I'm thinking of maybe renaming it "Comic Books and Literature", since there has been exactly 1 joke posted in there (and it was about the Super Friends), and we've had a thread or two about books we've read. Guest areacode212 Report post Posted June 5, 2002 I actually like Black Tiger's idea the best. Yeah, it probably won't be the most frequented folder, but does it really matter? Even though MMA is technically a sport, it's not "Sports", which most people consider to be the stuff covered by ESPN and the newspaper's sports section. MMA is closer in spirit to wrestling than to hockey & tennis (and even boxing) to justify it being in a "Miscellaneous Promotions" folder with Indies & Lucha. MMA & wrestling share a lot of crossover stars (Shamrock, Severn, Waterman, Kazuyuki Fujita), they're both considered "fringe" forms of entertainment by the general public, the sports media tends to look down on both, etc.. Guest J*ingus Report post Posted June 6, 2002 Foreign does just fine on its own, and shouldn't really be changed, unless you're just going to make it into a Puroresu folder because nobody in there talks about any other countries anyway. Guest areacode212 Report post Posted June 6, 2002 Here's my proposal: Foreign morphs into Puroresu. Indy and MMA merge into Misc. Promotions, which will also include Lucha, Canadian indys, whatever. WWE No Holds Barred General Wrestling Puroresu MISC. Old School Fantasy Booking Tape Trading I probably messed up the order but you get the idea. Guest Report post Posted June 13, 2002 I think you should unify MMA and Foreign with Independents. Don't drop the Food folder, I like that folder. We should bring back the greatness it had at the EZBoard. I don't think there's a need for the How Do I board anymore either, I think we're all well accustomed from the switch.
