Everyone loves a theory

Ok, I admit this is a real stretch, but just for arguements sake, hang with me. Everyone wants new blood in the main event, so they set up the RVD-UT match. The crowd pops huge for it, people like me who were close to turning Raw off hang around, and the feeling is much like the Benoit/Jericho vs Power Trip match a year ago.

But suddenly, Raw puts on one of the worst half hours of television ever. Kevin Nash yelling at the remains of the NWO, followed by Eddy singing in a bar for what seemed like forever, followed by Jerry Lawler wrestling (I know it's Memphis, but come on) followed by Austin singing forever, and then the match. What a buildup.

So the crowd, who had to sit through all that shit, wasn't exactly on the edge of their seats, and it took a while to get into the match.

So when RVD wins, the pop isn't insane, leaving a nice out for the bookers to quickly drop the push.

I'm not saying it's true, just a thought

You know what is truly disturbing?  This SAME thought crossed my mind last night.  After that shitty 2nd hour of Raw that crowd wouldn't have popped for anything.  Thus they can say "hey look, RVD got no pop during the main event."

I was so jacked after the first 20m last night, and then the rest of the show sucked so hard that I was losing interest in the main event.
