Guest RickyB Report post Posted August 6, 2005 Brief Results from the 3CW Classic from at the Acklam Garden City Stevie Aaron kicked things off by introducing guest star Classic Colt Cabana to the rowdy Acklam crowd. Colt's promises of "Good Times, Great Memories" were soon interrupted by "Simply the Best" Chris Whitton, who was in a foul mood after having what he perceived as "his" spotlight stolen by the visiting Ring of Honor star. Whitton was quick to remind Cabana that this show was "supposed" to be about HIM, and that he was wrestling 3CW Champion Ice XVII tonight in the Lord of the Ring Tournament. This drew out Ice, and long story short, we soon found that the match was to become a three way dance - Ice XVII Vs Chris Whitton Vs Classic Colt Cabana for the final Semi Final spot in the Lord of the Ring tournament!! the Kraze (Kyle Kraze) defeated Damned Nation (Gabriel Grey) Whilst the Kraze found themselves struggling to deal with the monsterous Brother War, Gabriel Grey's overconfidence proved his undoing, as Cameron Kraze managed to distract the seemingly unstoppable War for long enough to see Kyle survive Grey's 7th Circle and score a cheeky pinfall on Grey, much against the run of the match! the Kraze may have been battered and bruised, but with the fall they celebrated their first victory in 3CW! Darkside defeated Falcon to advance in the Lord of the Ring tournament Two of Scotland's premier young talents really drew a mixed reaction from the crowd, with duelling "Let's go Falcon!" - "Let's go Darkside!" chants from the divided crowd. Both men were impressive in their 3CW debut and return respectively, and at the finish Darkside managed to subdue Falcon with a vicious Vertebreaker to progress to the Semi Finals of the tournament! Jayson Mayson defeated the Iceman As the match was about to begin Mayson seemed to have the idea he could calm one half of the WXW Tag Team Champions down after his actions last time at Billingham - by miming - sorry, "singing" the original version of Iceman's "Cold As Ice" theme music... on a clearly unplugged corded microphone! This didn't seem to have the desired effect, and the "Strong Style Superman" seemed intent on taking Mayson apart - doing so quite effectively for much of the match! In the end, however, Mayson managed to distract the referee's attention by loosening a turnbuckle pad, allowing himself time to tattoo Iceman with the ringside Tag Team strap! Feet on the rope also assisting, Mayson was able to score what some would describe as a surprising victory! Mayson soon found himself scarpering after the match, however, after Iceman replaced the referee in strapping the Tag Belt - which Mayson claimed he'd "won" - around the waist of the Pop Sensation... Kid Richie defeated Lance Thunder to retain the 3CW Young Lions Championship Richie had his work cut out for him against the former Heavyweight Champion, and Thunder looked to be getting increasingly frustrated as the match went on with the plucky young Champion. Eventually Richie reversed Thunder's second Thunder Driver attempt into a victory roll for the three count. Thunder looked set to go at it with Richie after the match, until Cutting Education then made their first appearence of the night, laying both men out before laying claim to the Championship, saying that it had originated in Scotland with CJ Hunter and that was where it would return. Thunder then managed to clear house before helping up the young Champion, much to the approval of the crowd. the Vegas Connection defeated Cutting Education and GBH/Cannon to retain the 3CW Tag Team Championship Elimination rules were in effect here, as Cutting Education continued to stun the 3CW crowd by shockingly eliminating GBH and Cannon, the crowd favorites by far, first with the Super Rewind. We then looked set for a tag title switch as Dan Evans was out of commission following a chokeslam from the apron to the floor from Chris Cannon, but the Vegas Connection managed to rally, eventually finishing Grange off with the VC to a surprisingly positive crowd response. Conscience defeated "Playboy" Jonny Love and "Pornstar" Dave Styles the Playboy then made his presence felt, insulting the Acklam crowd and 3CW officials who he felt had left him at the mercy of the McPhenom, Conscience. He said that he had recruited the "IWF's finest" to help get rid of Conscience once and for all at Acklam - in the shape of the man who sold 3CW out back in March, the returning "Pornstar" Dave Styles. With two on one, the two men then started out the match under tag rules but eventually threw all reluctance to the wind and started to mercilessly double team Conscience - but to no avail. After being hit with the Revelations PJL was saved by Dave Styles - but he was obviously having flashbacks to Billingham, and wanted no part of the bodybag! He therefore told Styles he could handle it - and clearly, he couldn't Styles was then put to sleep by the McPhenom and stuffed into a bodybag once again, to the clear approval of the live crowd! Chris Whitton defeated Classic Colt Cabana and Ice XVII to advance in the Lord of the Ring tournament! Whitton was jettisoned numerous times by Cabana and Ice during the match, but somehow always finding a way back into the action. Indeed, after Ice had hit the Half Nelson Suplex and his Michinoku Driver XVII, Chris Whitton nailed Ice from behind, and with a handful of tights scored a stunning upset victory over Classic Colt! Whitton therefore advances, and post match we saw Colt demand that should Whitton ever challenge Ice for the Championship that Ice "kick his ass"!!
