Guest Frank_Nabbit Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 My buddy's CPU is not working, the power to the main CPU brain box is on but nothing but black comes on (I can't remember whether it says "No signal" on screen on not) All the wiring seems hooked up, and he has a bare bones CPU used only to look up fantasy points @ ESPN.com, so I'm at a loss as to where he could've picked up a virus. Anyone have any ideas how to cure this?
Dandy Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 I'm not a computer genius, so this might not be the problem. My computer had a similar problem a year or so ago, and it needed a new power supply. I suggest he find a cheap computer repair store and have them check it out.
Guest Frank_Nabbit Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 Okay update.... His Screen is black but reads Check PC and signal cable
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 Make sure the monitor is plugged into the computer's VGA slot securely. Failing that, your power supply probably blew. You can get one from newegg.com for cheap or expensive, depending on your needs. I reccomend at least a 300W one.
