Guest Badd Company Report post Posted February 13, 2002 Seems that Fox is so hateful towards Futurama, because of the fact creator Matt Groening owns it and they do not, that they are pretty much killing it. They've screwed with it for a while now, and they say as many as 30 episodes have been made but never aired due to Fox's constant screwing with it's timeslot. Anyways, I thought this show was pretty good (though I'm a much bigger King Of The Hill and Simpsons fan), but I know a lot of people love it, so i figured I'd pass on the sad news. Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted February 13, 2002 That sucks. Futurama was one of my favourite shows. It has always pissed me off how Fox has screwed with it.

The way Fox kept shoving the show down everyone's throat while using every trick in the book to kill off Family Guy (because it wasn't made by Matt Groening) made me sick. Now lets pray "That 80s Show" a quick and painfull death and Fox shows some brains by renewing and moving Undeclared, Titus and Family Guy to Sunday nights to fill up the void created by Futurama and X-Files's shitcanning.... Guest Vyce Report post Posted February 13, 2002 I NEVER liked Futurama. I gave it a chance, and IMO, it just sucked royally. It was better than King of the Hill, but that's not saying much. Family Guy was the best animated show on the network, followed by the Simpsons, and alas Family Guy has bought it too.
Guest SUPER LOCO Report post Posted February 13, 2002 For as good as the Simpsons is I could never get into Futurerama. The show was just too cheesey
Guest Mad Dog Report post Posted February 13, 2002 Fox yet again proves why they'll never be taken seriously as a network.

Guest hardyz1 Report post Posted February 13, 2002 Family Guy is one of the funniest shows ever, but Fox recently canned it again. http://www.petitiononline.com/savefg2/petition.html
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 13, 2002 I kinda like Futurama. Not as much as The Simpsons, King of the Hill & Family Guy, though.

Guest teke184 Report post Posted February 13, 2002 The real problem that Fox has is that their one super timeslot is from 7 to 9 on Sunday. Every other time that they try to put shows on are either too early (6 to 7 on Sunday), on a Night Of Death (Friday or Saturday), or counter-programmed against a Top 10 show (Thursday night). The only good night they have to work with would be Wednesday, as they have two shows that most people hate (Grounded for Life and That 80's Show) on during the 7 to 8 timeslot. If they moved Futurama and Family Guy to those timeslots and KEPT THEM THERE for a long enough time, there would be an audience for the shows because the only competition at that timeslot is Dawson's Creek. Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted February 13, 2002 How can you hate "That 80's Show" and "Grounded For Life"? I love those fucking shows! Okay, "That 80's Show" is pretty bad, but it's only had its, what...4th episode? Jeez, people, give it time! "That 70's Show" was pretty bad until halfway through the second season! I'm willing to bet that if "That 80's Show" was given a different name, not as many people would hate it. And "Grounded For Life" is great. I laugh at disfunctional families...especially ones that have an uncle named Eddie like that...damn, the actor that plays Eddie is so incredibly cool. Guest teke184 Report post Posted February 14, 2002 That 70's Show got points for being original despite having a VERY stupid name, and proved itself to be funny despite the "Ugh, WTF was Fox thinking when they made this?" mindset that was widespread when the series was announced. One thing that makes this show a true success is that it got the coveted spot just after The Simpsons yet it's continued to be successful even after moving to a different spot. That makes it one of only two shows to do this, along with King Of The Hill. That 80's Show doesn't even get that much, as it is pretty much ripping off That 70's Show AND The Wedding Singer, and doesn't seem funny either. As for Grounded For Life, the only reason I'd watch it would be for the redheaded daughter. The rest of it seems like paint-by-numbers dysfuctional family sitcom stuff, which I've seen too much of between Married... With Children, Rosanne, and The Simpsons. I'm just pissed that some good shows get cancelled (Action, Futurama, Family Guy, The Critic, Alien Nation) while recycled crap like That 80's Show and Grounded For Life are kept on the air. BTW, if you want to watch a FUNNY dysfunctional family show, try watching Titus instead of Grounded For Life. And I'm not saying that That 80's Show or Grounded For Life should be cancelled, but instead moved to the Timeslots of Certain Death that good shows have been put in. If they still have their original audience after being put against Friends or Just Shoot Me, they should be renewed for at least another 2-3 seasons. Otherwise, those shows should be getting the treatment that Family Guy and Futurama have been getting over the past 3 years, which involves being put on year-long hiatus and cancelled about 3 separate times. Guest Galactic Gigolo Report post Posted February 15, 2002 Fox does suck. They option TOO many shows, and wonder why they get shows that have no where to run. Like with Dark Angel, the show was drawing great ratings for their network. I hate the show, but it had a big fanbase. They movie it to Friday night, and BAM, 3.5 eveyr week, which is the same rating Family Guy is getting. And if That's My Bush cost $500,000 an episode to make, and Comedy Central said South Park costs A LOT less than that, I'm sure Family Guy costs less than Dark Angel to make per half hour. And instead of simply running reruns of shows, they'll switch around their lineups every other week, like throwing an episode of Malcolm in the Middle on Monday night. Hey Fox, there are Boston Public fans who don't mind watching a motherfucking rerun. And cancelling Furturama. Assholes. Hey, at least I have my Region 1 Furturama Season 1 DVD to hold me over. But then again, Season 1 isn't as good as the last two seasons, so it kind of sucks.
