***SMACKDOWN***

Smackdown opens with the very first match.

Triple H vs Lance Storm

Storm gets on the mic. If I can be serious for a minute. You think you may have achieved great victory by pinning my friend Jericho Sunday night. You are a barbaric blood thirsty animal. You are about to be taught a wrestling lesson, like only a real wrestling technician can do. Match starts with a clothesline by Triple H. Facebuster by Triple H. Dropkick by Storm. Storm chops and punches Triple H in the corner. Triple H's head is busted open. Storm chokes Triple H on the ropes. Storm with a top rope clothesline for a two count. Dropkick by Storm for a two count. Punches by Triple H. Storm misses a corner splash. Neckbreaker by Triple H followed by a spinebuster for a two count. Superkick by Storm followed by the Canadian Maple Leaf. Triple H makes it to the ropes. Another superkick by Storm. Storm gets crotched on the ropes by the referee by accident (Triple H pushed the ref). Triple H capitalizes with the pedigree for the pin.

Winner: Triple H

Backstage, Christian asks Kurt Angle if he is sure he wants to go out there tonight. Angle says he has to treat it as a positive because it will be one of the most courageous things he has ever done. Angle looks into a mirror.

Kurt Angle comes to the ring wearing wrestling gear on his head with a wig. Angle gets on the mic. People say it was a miracle when I won an olympic gold medal with a broken neck. This almost tops it. In less than a week I was able to grow my hair to it's almost natural state. I'm sorry if you people paid good money to come see a bald loser crying in the ring. Lok on the bright side, there is always Hogan to look for tonight. Edge may have gotten a fluke win over me at Judgment day, but I will not be the object of ridicule.

Maven comes out to the top of the stage with a mic in hand. It is none of my business, but there is no shame in being bald. To be honest, it's not that bad. You might even look better. Why don't you take that rug off your head and be yourself. Your fans will not make fun of you. Do you people wanna see Angle in his natural state? Loud pop.

Excuse me? Do I know you? Do you work here or something? Oh, your that guy who won some contract on MTV or something. Thats real impressive but do you have any idea who you are talking to? I am Kurt Angle. If you think this is a wig and want it off my head, come down here and remove it yourself.

Maven runs to the ring only to be kicked down by Angle. Maven hits a dropkick and goes after the head gear, trying to take it off. Angle takes Maven down and leaves the ring walking up the ramp. Edge runs down the ramp and attacks Angle. Christian comes out and pushes Edge away. Christian grabs Angle and the two walk to the back, with Maven and Edge staring at them.

Stacy Keibler comes to the announce table and dances on top of it. Stacy stays at the announce table and puts on the headsets to watch the next match.

Test vs Randy Orton

test offers to shake hands but slaps Orton instead. Test kicks Orton down in the ropes. Test with back elbows in the corner. Orton gets thrown out of the ring. Back in Orton hits two standing dropkicks. Test with a pumphandle slam for a two count. Test mounts Orton with punches. Test with a running clothesline in the corner. Test gets hung up on the top rope. Clothesline by Orton. Orton with a flying forearm. Orton with a top rope crossbody, Test rolls through for a two count. Test throws Orton into the ring post. Test rolls the dice on Orton for the pin. Stacy walks to the back by herself after the match.

Winner: Test

Backstage, Marc Loyd interviews Undertaker. Undertaker says he told the world what he was gonna do and he did it. Undertaker says he is alone at the top of the ladder, he is the man to beat. Footage is shown from the match on Raw between Undertaker and RVD. Undertaker points out that due to poor officiating, Ric Flair restarted the match. Undertaker says he is here tonight to watch the end of Hulkamania.

-commercial-

Backstage, Chris Jericho tells Faarooq he is just the guy he was looking for. Jericho says he has no desire to fight tonight so he needs some protection. Faarooq says the only thing Jericho better pay is attention. Mark Henry walks up and says it is a shame that Jericho's pretty face will be busted up by him.

Edge and Maven vs Christian and Kurt Angle

Angle comes to the ring still wearing his wrestling head gear with wig. Match starts with Angle kicking Edge. Edge mounts Christian with punches. Maven with a standing dropkick on Angle. Angle suplexes Maven. Christian with a backbreaker on Maven for a two count. Christian chops Maven in the corner. Angle with a suplex on Maven for a two count. Angle clotheslines Maven. Maven low blows Angle. Edge tagged in and cleans house. Double team on Edge. Edge hits a double clothesline. Angle with the olympic slam on Edge. Maven ddt's Angle. Maven hits Christian with a missle dropkick, Angle makes the save. Edge spears Christian. Angle dumps Edge out of the ring. Maven dumps Angle out of the ring. Maven rolls up Christian for the pin.

Winners: Edge and Maven

Backstage, Billy and Chuck tell Rico to not get to attatched to his tag team belt. Rico tells them not to worry, it is only temporary, the win was a fluke. Rico tells them they deserve to be the champions. Bily and Chuck tell him to remember who brought him to the dance. Rico hugs them but Billy and Chuck look at each other with a weird look on their faces.

Reverend Dvon w/ Deacon Bautista vs Rikishi

Dvon tells Rikishi that he is disgusting. Dvon tells him to get in the back and put some clothes on. Rikisho attacks Dvon to start the match. Rikishi misses a sit-down. Rico walks to the ring. Billy and Chuck walk out to the top of the stage. Rikishi superkicks Dvon. Rikisho knocks Deacon off the ring apron. Rico enters the ring and hits Rikishi with his tag belt. Dvon rolls on Rikishi for the easy pin. After the match Deacon puts the boots to Rikishi followed by a spinebuster. Billy and Chuck wait at the top of the stage in smiles for Rico.

Winner: Reverend Dvon

Earlier today, Chavo Guerrero Jr. is watching the tape from Raw when Eddie attacked Austin in the bar. Reporter Gregory Helms walks in and finds another note. The note says it left him a clue, which is a pack of beef jerky. Whats up with that?

Backstage, Marc Loyd interviews Triple H. Lance Storm walks in and says Triple H got lucky tonight but his luck is about to run out. Test sneaks up and gives Triple H the big boot to the face.

A Chavo vignette is shown of him insulting Tupelo. He says after tonight he will be proud to never come back to Tupelo.

WWE Cruiserweight Championship

The Hurricane vs Chavo Guerrero Jr.

Chavo shoves Hurricane. Hurricane with a shoulder block. Powerslam by Hurricane for a two count. Belly to back suplex by Chavo. Dropkick by Chavo for a two count. Hurricane with a swinging neckbreaker for a two count. Hurricane hits the blockbuster for the pin.

Winner: The Hurricane

Backstage, Stacy says she was just having fun out at the ring earlier. Vince says nothing can make him angry tonight because of Hogan's fairwell address. Jericho walks in and wonders why he has to fight Mark Henry tonight when he is so banged up. Vince says it is another opportunity for him. Vince asks Jericho if he can beat Henry. Jericho says he can.

-commercial-

Chris Jericho vs Mark Henry

Henry with a running splash into the corner. Henry hiptosses Jericho across the ring. Henry misses a Vader bomb. Jericho is bleeding from the head. Jericho chokes Henry with his wrist band. Clothesline by Henry. Henry catches Jericho coming off the top with a military press drop. Henry knocks Jericho to the outside. Henry follows out and Jericho sends him head first into the ring post. Back in the ring the referee takes a chair away from Henry. Jericho sneaks up with his own chair and hits Henry in the back for the pin.

Winner: Chris Jericho

Hulk Hogan comes to the ring. Before Hogan can get on the mic the fans start chanting Hogan. Nothing close to the Montreal pop but good for the US. Hogan talks. I was born Terry Bollea on August 1953. I was raised in Tampa, Florida. My parents were working class people who worked all their lives to support our family. One day about 20 years ago I had the opportunity to get in this business. I had the honor to perform all around the world. The last 20 years I have had a blast. There is only one thing I regret - my father past away at Christmas time and he's not alive to see me right now with all my Hulkamaniacs. As he was lying in the hospital he didn't show any emotion in his face. One day he got tired of looking at me and he tore that trachea tube out of his throat and said two things to me - Go back to wrestling and straighten out your career, and Go back home and go back to the WWF. Well here I am guys. I couldn't have done it without all you guys out here, so thank you. Thank you for believing in me. If it wasn't for you guys I wouldn't be who I am today. I have to thank you right now for taking the biggest step in my professional career. There comes a time in every man's life where you just have to step down. Most of all I want to thank you for all of the memories. before I leave this ring tonight for the very last time, I have one hope and one dream, and that I hope Hulkamania lives forever. From my heart Hulkamaniacs, thank you.

Vince McMahon walks to the ring and gets on the mic. Say it ain't so. My god the sky is falling down. The world is coming to an end because Hogan is announcing his retirement. Just where is Hogan making the most important announcement in his career? Right here in the very rectum of Tupelo, Mississippi. Hogan, read my lips. There is no chance in hell of you retiring. Your not gonna retire tonight or any night. I'll tell you why. Ten years ago you walked out on me. Not this time. This time I have a signed contract and if you walk out on me I will sue you and your family for everything you got. The only way you will ever leave my company is when your body is decomposing in a pine box. I created Hulk Hogan. I own Hulkamania. I intend to milk Hulkamania for every cent I can until the day you die.

Vince, I was counting on you to come out here and ruin this. I was planning it. One day I may retire but it won't be till I kick you ass.

Hogan punches Vince and whips him with the weightlifting belt. Undertaker hits the ring and attacks Hogan in the corner. Hogan regains momentum and clotheslines Undertaker out of the ring. Undertaker and Vince walk up the ramp staring at Hogan. Vince yells out that Hulkamania will die on his terms. Hogan flexes for the crowd and walks to the back.

Chimmel thanks everyone for coming.

Thats it...

I don't even know what to say anymore. The main event of the show is an interview featuring Hulk Hogan, Vince and Undertaker. What can you even say about that?

Boy, that HITC match really elevated Jericho and proved he was tough. Now he's afraid of Mark Henry and has to cheat to beat someone as low on the card as Henry. Watch Faarooq vow for revenge next week against Jericho on Velocity leading up the huge tag team match of Faarooq/Henry v. Godfather/Jericho. Does someone in the WWE find it amusing to kill the careers of their most promising wrestlers?

A Triple H/Test feud is brewing. So, what was the point of all that stuff with Triple H/Edge last week? All it did was take away from the Triple H/Jericho program  and put attention on something that got no follow through. Are they restarting the Canadian Horseman angle now minus Jericho?

I hope they aren't going to do sight gags week after week with Angle trying to pretend he's not bald. Why not let him be pissed instead and go out there and beat the crap out of Edge?

Maven pinned Christian.

Taker didn't start another feud.

"I mean...they won't let Taker vs. Hogan main event KOTR again...right?"

Not if Judgement Day's buyrate sucked, and all signs point to that very result.

HHH vs. Test?  That sucked the first time back in late '99, when Test actually had heat for once.  And speaking of Test, didn't he beat Mark Henry completely CLEAN a week or two ago?  Yet former world champion Chris Jericho has to use a chair.  Well, at least Lance Storm didn't get squashed.

And one REALLY worrisome thing: has anybody heard them even mention the King of the Ring tournament itself?  As in preliminary matches, or anything?  I haven't, and it scares me...

Let's see...

Jericho has to cheat to beat Mark Henry.

Test is being shoved down our throats again, it seems.

Storm jobs to HHH.  IN HIS HOMETOWN, NO LESS.

Angle & Christian job to Edge & MAVEN.

Chavo is being buried already.

But HHH doesn't have ANY power, none.

I mean if we get Hogan/UT again...

Storm Vs. HHH... maybe they did that because they were in Calgary.  Could this lead to a Storm push?!  *points to his sig*  Revolution!

Are they STILL doing Angle/Edge..?! (I didn't read the them all the way... just skimmed them)

The ME was Hogan talking... oh God.  Whoever wrote Raw needs to get to Smackdown! and quick!

Vince didn't write it, neither did Steph... so that leaves Shane and Heyman, right?  Or maybe both...

*silent chant*  RVD, RVD, RVD...

They're just now getting the buyrates in from Mania...so that won't play a part in current booking...

But I see Hogan vs. McMahon...but fear...FEAR Hogan and HHH vs. McMahon and Taker.

HHH is feuding with McMahon...and Taker from before...

...and Hogan is feuding with both....

NOOOOOOOOOO

Oh please be wrong, bps... PLEASE!

If they DO focus on this shitty angle, then where does that lead RVD/UT on Raw?

I see a RVD/Austin Vs. UT/Eddy match on Raw next week or something..

I'm praying for RVD/UT at KotR... could the WWE give me just THAT?

well....it DOES appear that the canadian mafia is reforming.

so...maybe Jericho will finally get that win over HHH.

Of course it won't come without every canadian on the roster interfering...but whatever.

Well, that would be cool.

I could really see that with Benoit returning and all.  As long as it's maybe: Jericho, Storm, Christian, and Benoit that would be damned good.

But keep TEST out!

Actually, I think they were in Mississippi tonight. I believe the Canadian swing is next week. But regardless, it's good to see Lance Storm get some airtime. Even if he just plays a set-up man for Test. Storm mentioned Jericho in his promo and then he and Test set-up Triple H later in the show. Why did they drop that whole storyline anyways?

I don't see them doing Hogan/Taker again. They are not going to put the belt back on Hogan and Hogan's not going to job to Taker on two straight PPV's. If Taker is going to drop the belt at KOR, then it will be Taker/Triple H. If he's not, then there might be a chance of RVD/Taker. There appears to be no mention of which side picks the #1 contender on tv this week so my guess is the creative team is still deciding on the main event.

They also seemed to have dropped the whole Triple H/Vince angle that they spent so much time on the last two weeks. Big surprise. It served its purpose.

I don't know if they can run RVD/Taker at KOTR.

I mean...so far these losses to Taker have helped RVD out...but another one wouldn't.

What do you mean keep Test out?  He's a HOSS! (TM J.R.) You can't have a stable comprised entirely of Canadian midgets!

Seriously, I don't mind Test as much as some other people. His mic skills suck and he's about a zero on the charisma meter. But he's a decent wrestler for a guy his size and I wouldn't mind him in a background role. However, all bets are off if they try and make him the leader of whatever three week alliance they are creating now.

Yes, but... what if he won?

I mean KotR is June 23rd... they could run something and build a good UT/RVD angle by then.  Maybe have UT start by saying RVD can't ever beat him, and replay footage of UT's wins over him.

Sorta like Jericho's "can't win the big one" schtick.

Then, like Jericho, RVD can finally prove UT win and beat him at KotR.

Just an idea.

On the other hand....

This kinda sorta could set up a Taker vs. RVD match if they want.

Taker could ask McMahon if he wants him to take out Hogan for him...and McMahon can say "If anyone is gonna kill Hulkamania it will be me"...and he can tell Taker to go defend the belt against whoever Flair wants (since they are now on the same page).  And RVD could get a rematch.

That would wave the Smackdown gets next title shot problem.

Too much thinking involved for that though.

Or on the OTHER OTHER hand...

On the next week, JR claims that RVD hasn't been seen after last Raw.  No one has heard from him.. he's not even in the arena tonight

The second hour of Raw.. UT rides in.. from behind RVD attacks UT.  Violently.  Takes him out to the ring... gets a chair.  Van Daminator.  5-Star.  RVD's so pissed.. let's throw in a Van Terminator!  UT is a bloody mess.. he can't make it to Smackdown on Thursday (eh, Tuesday).

UT comes back next week... FURIOUS.  He DEMANDS that him and RVD have it out at KotR.. he doesn't care if the title is on the line.. he just wants RVD.  No one else.. not from Smackdown either.  (It's a must he says something to this extent.)  Flair makes the match and there you have it.

Then, they could extend the angle even further...

Not too confusing.. and easy.

But, like THAT would ever happen...

Actually, the smart move (for me anyway) would be for Taker to drop the belt on RAW to RVD.

Then build to a Jericho-RVD match for King of the Ring. I don't care how it happens, just do it.

I don't care what happens to Taker after that.

As for Smackdown, this show looks like another must-miss show. Wrong people being pushed. Wrong people getting airtime (except for Stacy), terrible matchups, non-existent wrestling. I hope the ratings drop another point and the WWF realizes the writing team has to be axed.

I think it's the only solution. The writing team must be destroyed. Heyman, gone! steph, gone! Gerwitz(?), gone!

get some fresh writers, fresh storlines and clean out the dead weight in the locker-room. It's the only way. And who says the WWF isn't WCW???

All very good points. It looks like Triple H's disdain towards Jericho is crossing over onto other great talents like Lance Storm. I could care less how "high up" in the promotion Triple H is, there's no reason that Lance Storm should be doing the job to someone who's already as over as he's going to get. Pathetic.

Oh, and joy, yay, we get to look forward to McMahon vs Hogan. Yippie. Smell the ratings. Fuck you Vince.

I don't understand the double standards that exists. If someone that you like faces someone higher on the food chain, the guy you like is being pushed. If he faces someone lower, the guy you like is being depushed. Jericho is facing Mark Henry, so you say that his depush is continuing. Triple H is facing Lance Storm. Does that mean he is being depushed as well? How many Main Event faces are there on Smackdown? Now that the Rock left, there's only one and his name is Triple H. Maybe that's why he went over Jericho. I thought Triple H bashing would no longer be tolerated on this board.

Um, there's also Hogan, who is arguably a bigger babyface than HHH (I think that Hulk should've won and Hunter should've lost at the PPV, but that's just me).

"Maybe have UT start by saying RVD can't ever beat him, and replay footage of UT's wins over him"

But RVD has pinned him, once.  It was the RAW hardcore match they had a little before Vengeance last year, where RVD's kicks were coming nowhere near Taker and he dived off the Titantron.  Booker T interfered to help Rob win, if I remember correctly.
