tomorrow is the 4 year anniversary of owens death. I think we should all take the time and remember him throughout the day.

Actually it was 3 three years ago.  It's even sadder that the Bulldog has died around this time.

we should.  smackdown airs tomorrow night and there is no reason I can see that they don't pay tribute to both owen and davey. if they don't then it will be typical wwe not giving a shit.

They never have before but in the 2000 taping was on 5.23 and something they did to stall time REALLY pissed me off-

(from Online Onslaught 5.24)

Michael Cole then said they wanted to pay tribute to a former WWF superstar. I got excited thinking they were doing something for Owen. It turned out to be the Foley retirement video. Apparently, they showed this to stall for time.

To honor Owen and Bulldog I'm gonna watch me some 10 men tag.

I doubt they will mention it because I don't remember them ever mentioning it since the RAW is Owen tribute and the WWF Attitude dedication.

But with the recent passing of Davey and since Smackdown is being aired on the anniversary of Owen's death that it would be a nice touch.  I seriously doubt it would ever happen but remember anything can happen here in the wwe.

I could see why they *might* mention Owen, since British Bulldog died this week and they were linked professionally and personally. But after that, don't expect and Owen tribute/mention on May 23rds to come. If they did that, nearly every RAW or Smackdown would be dedicated to some wrestler who died around that same time some years ago. "Adrian Adonis died 13 years ago on this day," or something would just be unneccessary.

I agree wholeheartedly.  I would love to see constant tributes to Owen, Davey Boy, Yokozuna, Kerry Von Erich, Rick Rude, Andre, and all the wrestlers from my generation who have passed on, but we have to be realistic.  I mean, if you wait enough years, even the anniversary of 9/11/01 will degenerate into a 30 second blip on the evening news.  I'm not saying tributes are a bad thing, but they always grow rarer as time goes on.  Its not a fun fact, but its a fact of life.

Maybe they would like to move on with this tragic incident. Why keep reminding people of Owen's tragic death? All it does is hurt the family more by being constantly reminded of Owen's death instead of his 34 years of life they had with Owen. I'm sure the wrestlers don't like thinking about their fallen friend on those terms. Maybe it's best we don't go "On this date, 1999, 3 years ago, Former professional wrestler Owen Hart died in a tragic fall". We need to move on, it's been 3 years. Eventfully, 9/11 sentiments will fade away (as they have in many ways) the world is carrying on and the same needs to go for the wrestling community.

There are differences between the death of Owen, and all the other deaths that were listed.  Owen Hart died in a WWF ring, during a live PPV, and they should do their best to honor him with each passing year.  There is a difference between a wrestler dying outside out the ring due to personal problems, and one dying in the ring during a live show.

Sorry to contradict you, but I have to disagree.  True, Owen's death was much more public and "close to home" than most of those others, but its irrelevant in my eyes.  All that matters is that they are no longer with us, and we should remember what they did for us.  All of them contributed greatly to the world of wrestling, and they should all be equally respected and revered for it.  No one man, no matter how great a guy he was, should receive special treatment.
