Legit undisputed title contenders

edge wouldn't sit right with me either.  angle's doing an excellent job of gradually bringing him up to ME credibility, but he isn't there yet.  he needs at least one more big feud to really get him over.

 

Correction: he needs a good feud, something Edge isn't capable of. he's screwed.

Dude, what is your intense hatred of Edge?  I mean, your one of the only people I've heard blast Edge so consistently.

Shouldn't be near the title in the near future:

Austin

Hogan

Jericho

Angle

Not because they are lousy in the ring or anything (shut up, Hogan can work a crowd like nobodies business *sigh*), but because they writers have built the characters in such a way that they look like fools and not like serious contenders to the world heavyweight title. Austin seems to care more about arguing pointlessly with Flair and drinking than being the top man in the industry. Hogan shouldn't have been anywhere near the belt, they should have used him in another capacity. The Kurt Angle Character has become a walking punchline instead of what he is, the most gifted athlete the WWF has ever seen. The thing is, in 2000 there was a gentle mix of comedy and serious competition, and it worked. It seems like they thought it was the comedy that was the star of the show and proceeded to turn all their stars into goofy cartoon characters. The bitter, heartless heel Triple H turned into the fun loving, a dick joke every 3 seconds, Triple H. Jericho was always kind of a joke, but it worked for him as a face. When they turned him heel and kept him a goofy character, nobody took him seriously. Edge seems to be going down that road being fun loving and mischievous and when he tries to get serious, you don't take him seriously. Taker and Rvd seem to have avoided the stigma thus far, but booker T and the NWO are almost too far gone to make serious anymore. You can say Stephanie or Hogan or Vince or whoever is ruining the WWF, but the fact of the matter is, the comedy shit has ruined the WWF.
