Guest HBK16 Posted May 23, 2002 Report Posted May 23, 2002 Today I saw the Homer vs the City of Nerw York episode. I haven't seen that one in ages. I thought they weren't playing that one anymore. Well, back to my question. For example, tonight the New York City episode was on where I live. Does that episode play everywhere or do diferent states or cities have diferent episodes on? Thanks.
Guest Kinetic Posted May 23, 2002 Report Posted May 23, 2002 It's different everywhere. All of the stations that choose to carry it in syndication purchase a certain number of episodes. They can then show these in whatever order they choose, to the best of my knowledge. The absolute best I've ever experienced was AFN, or Armed Forces Network, which had every episode of "The Simpsons" and showed them in chronological order.
Guest papacita Posted May 23, 2002 Report Posted May 23, 2002 For replays, no. I missed the Simpsons rerun yesterday, but when I go to other cities, the episode they air is usually different from the one advertised in my town.
Guest Posted May 23, 2002 Report Posted May 23, 2002 That's one of my favourite episodes, because it's the first one were they mention C.H.U.D.'s.
Guest Posted May 23, 2002 Report Posted May 23, 2002 That's one of my favourite episodes, because it's the first one were they mention C.H.U.D.'s. Definitely one of the best episodes out there. Especially for the interaction between Homer and the street vendor. "Mountain Dew or Crab Juice." "EEEEW... I'll take a Crab Juice!" I'm glad they're still airing that episode.
Guest crandamaniac Posted May 23, 2002 Report Posted May 23, 2002 down here, they normally show 2 reruns of the simpsons. Last night they showed the one where Homer became Mr. Burns's Prank Monkey, and the one where Grandpa's girlfriend died. The first one was a lot funnier, as are the later ones for some reason
Guest Posted May 23, 2002 Report Posted May 23, 2002 Last night they showed the one where Homer became Mr. Burns's Prank Monkey.. "I'm not supposed to get pudding in this eye!!" I love that one!
Guest areacode212 Posted May 23, 2002 Report Posted May 23, 2002 Well, I'm glad they're still playing that episode. The whole "let's edit the WTC out of every rerun" thing pissed me off.
Guest treble charged Posted May 23, 2002 Report Posted May 23, 2002 I thought the line was, "Are you mad man? Not Carl, he's a war hero!" (or something along those lines) and then Mr. Burns helped him to the emergency eye wash.
Guest treble charged Posted May 23, 2002 Report Posted May 23, 2002 Well, I'm glad they're still playing that episode. The whole "let's edit the WTC out of every rerun" thing pissed me off. Most Friend's episodes that CityTV shows still has the WTC in them, as do some Spin City re-runs that I've seen.

Guest treble charged Posted May 23, 2002 Report Posted May 23, 2002 Oh yeah, the war hero part was what Homer said about Lenny, right after Mr. Burns asked him to throw the pudding at Lenny for laughs. What you said was right on the dot, if I'm not mistaken.
Guest dreamer420 Posted May 23, 2002 Report Posted May 23, 2002 I've heard that there was a Simpsons where Homer smokes a doobie. Is this true? I have seen the one about the blind guy with a fat bag in his pocket but Homer getting high is something I have to see.
Guest godthedog Posted May 23, 2002 Report Posted May 23, 2002 yup, from this season. he got it medically prescribed for his eyes. phish guest starred. funniest simpsons episode in a long time.
Guest dreamer420 Posted May 23, 2002 Report Posted May 23, 2002 sweet ass. was he smoking doobies, bongs, pipes?
Guest HBK16 Posted May 23, 2002 Report Posted May 23, 2002 sweet ass. was he smoking doobies, bongs, pipes? From what I remember Dr. Hibert let him choose between two bongs. I think one was a dragon but I don't remeber the other one. The Otto would smoke with Homer in the attic. I forgot most of it Classic episode. By the way, thanks for all the help guys!
Guest Posted May 23, 2002 Report Posted May 23, 2002 thought it was worth mentioning that when Ive seen them rerun the episode with nsync, the part where the building blows up is edited out... I had originally heard they were taking the whole episode out of circulation, along with Homer vs. New York, but I guess not
Guest Slapnuts00 Posted May 24, 2002 Report Posted May 24, 2002 Well hopefully when they start releasing more season on DVD (c'mon already, Season 2 was supposed to be out last Christmas!), they'll have all the episodes in there unedited. That was seriously one of my favorite Simpsons lines, although it seems so tasteless now: Tonight On Fox: When Buildings Blow Up!, "My favorite part is when the buildings blow up!"- Bart
Guest MaxPower27 Posted May 24, 2002 Report Posted May 24, 2002 No, it was "tonight on FOX, when buildings fall down" Bart: My favorite part is when they fall down Lisa: Yeah, maybe someone got hurt Homer: Hey, I never thought of that...Hee Hee *Up next on FOX, "When surgeries go wrong"*
