Guest Adam Gard Report post Posted September 7, 2005 Canada Invades Varsity Pro Wrestling! Direct from California come two of the greatest tag team wrestlers the independent scene has ever witnessed, Shannon and Shane, The Ballard Brothers fly in direct from LAX to make their mark in the UK on the VPW debut show. These men have seen victories in over 50 promotions, 6 different countries, and the personal wrestling coaches to 18 signed WWE wrestling superstars! One of this teams biggest career highlights was holding the UIWA, UPW and WPW belts all at the same time! Shannon and Shane have had many grueling fights to the finish with guys like Frankie Kazarian, 'American Dragon' Bryan Danielson, Al Katrazz, Samoa Joe, Scott Lost, Christopher Daniels, Super Dragon and many more! VPW head office are yet to set opponents for the two former ice hockey stars but you can bet the Ballard's will bring the fight to who ever VPW, and the UK, can throw at them! With a mixture in styles from their extensive tours of Japan and Mexico, and hard hitting brawling instincts from their hockey days The Ballard's are one hell of a team and good luck to any man brave enough to step in the ring with them! This is what the Ballard's had to say, "Man the VPW fans are in for one heck of a treat! Yet there are two sides to every coin meaning there's gunna be no treats in store for who ever we face on September 16th! Both of us would like all our "mates" in the UK to know we are not fattists! We are equal opportunity wrestlers and will bring the beating to any one any where big fat or small! So if your not down with the Canadian invasion, PUCK OFF!" The VPW debut show takes place on Friday night September 16th at the Horndean Technology College, tickets are £8 for adults, £5 for children and OAP's, this event will be filmed for future release on DVD. Already confirmed as well as the The Ballard Brothers are 'Anarchist' Doug Williams, rookie sensation Chris Andrews, 'Filthy' Phil Powers and local star UK Kid. Check out the VPW website! Guest Adam Gard Report post Posted September 26, 2005 Results from the VPW debut show Match 1: Doug Williams and Phil Powers Vs Sam Andrews and Shawn Bateman. Williams and Powers get the victory within two minutes of the bell! Doug and Phil announced that there was no one who could beat them as a tag team and taunted the UK Kid who the pair double crossed at the last Horndean show, as the UK Kid made an unannounced entrance he informed the fans that he could not take the pleasure of kicking Doug and Phil’s arse as he was already scheduled for a match but introduced a pair of his friends from USA by the name of the Ballard Brothers who would take to the challenge kindly! With that said, the Ballard’s rushed the ring which sent Doug and Phil running for cover! Match 2: The Bulldozer Vs Chris Andrews. After 15 minutes strong, Chris Andrews picked up his first professional victory. As Andrews celebrated in the ring a jealous Kris Kay blind-sided the young Andrews, who then had to be helped to the back by ring staff. Match 3: Kris Kay Vs Andy Simmonz. After a heavy beating by Kay, Andy managed to fight back before being slung to the outside, as Kris turned flying through the sky’s with a high cross body was an angry Chris Andrews, the referee didnt see a thing, Andy then rolled in and got the 1 2 3! Not happy with his loss or interference from Andrews, Kris Kay challenged Andrews for October 28th when VPW return to Horndean, like a young whippet with muscles Chris Andrews accepted! Intermission. Match 4: UK Kid vs Jorge Castano. This match got off to a fast start with both men matching each other hold for hold and move for move until Jorge managed to out smart the UK Kid and nail him with a rolling northern lights to exceptional form! The fight went up and down and eventually to the out side where Jorge Castano on the offensive found himself Irish whipped into a steel guardrail! This defiantly was the difference maker as UK Kid then hit his big top rope drop kick followed by a version of the sit down pedigree for the three count. Match 5: The main event, Phil Powers and Doug Williams Vs the Canadian Ballard Brothers. The match got off to a flying start with arm drags left and right from both teams, until Doug decided to slow the pace with what is technically known as a thumb to the eye! This was with out a doubt the match of the night as each competitor pulled out their biggest moves including a Phil Powers powerbomb, the top rope knee from Doug and the double minor finishing move from the Ballards! The contest went over 20 minutes until the fight got taken to the outside, but then out of the blue in the ring stood Doug and as he turned the UK Kid answered him with the rhythm of his own sweet chin music leading the Ballard’s to the victory and repaying Doug and Phil for the attack on him on the last show. UK Kid and the Ballard’s then entered the ring, Doug and Phil again ran as fast as they could but left behind was Erin angel, one half of the Ballard’s grabbed her by the hair, before we knew it he had planted a smacker on the lips of VPW’s lady of wrestling! The crowd erupted and Erin screamed! What a way to end VPW's debut show! VPW returns to Horndean on the 28th October don’t miss it!
