Guest Kingpk Report post Posted February 13, 2002 AL East Yankees Red Sox Orioles Blue Jays Devil Rays (Notes: The Red Sox are a given for second since the other 3 teams will be horrible this year. If the Sox take a page from the Pats and keep the egos somewhat in check (i.e. Manny is "comfortable" with the clubhouse), they just might win a few games down the stretch) AL Central White Sox Twins (with a big f*** you to Selig) Indians Royals Tigers AL West A's Mariners (WC) Rangers Angels (Notes: This, I think, will be the best division in baseball this year with the race going to the last 2 weeks of the season) NL East Mets Braves Phillies Marlins Expos NL Central Astros Cardinals Cubs Pirates Brewers NL West Giants Rockies Dodgers Padres

Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted February 14, 2002 It's far too early to make any final predictions. Here are some thoughts heading into spring training. The Twins success will be determined by Radke and Milton. If they hit the wall like last year, the Twins won't win anything. Joe Kerrigan just doesn't do it for me. He deserves a full season, but pitching coaches don't always make the best managers. Giambi will have to adjust to the Yankees style and not the other way around. I don't think he'll have any problem doing this.
Guest MaxPower27 Report post Posted February 14, 2002 Joe Kerrigan just doesn't do it for me. He deserves a full season, but pitching coaches don't always make the best managers. I think that Dan Duquette is the biggest puss in MLB. He fired Jimy Williams, a man who got results from an average team, because he didn't like him. The reason that Jimy couldn't lead the BoSox any where was because Duquette was roo hung up on hiring nobodys.

Guest Brooding Genius Report post Posted February 14, 2002 Here goes nothing. American League East: New York Yankees Boston Red Sox Toronto Blue Jays Baltimore Orioles Tampa Bay Devil Rays Central: Minnesota Twins Chicago White Sox Cleveland Indians Detroit Tigers Kansas City Royals West: Oakland Athletics Seattle Mariners Texas Rangers Anaheim Angels Wild card: can't decide between the Mariners or the White Sox National League East: New York Mets Atlanta Braves Philadelphia Phillies Florida Marlins Montreal Expos Central: St. Louis Cardinals Houston Astros Chicago Cubs Cincinnati Reds Milwaukee Brewers Pittsburgh Pirates West: Los Angeles Dodgers Arizona Diamondbacks San Francisco Giants Colorado Rockies San Diego Padres Wild card: Atlanta Braves (last trip to the playoffs for a while) Other predictions: The NL East will be the toughest division in baseball. The San Diego Padres will be the best last-place team in recent memory. The Pittsburgh Pirates will be the worst team in baseball. The Anaheim Angels will become the next target for contraction after the Twins make the playoffs. And the Yankees will win the whole damned thing.
Guest ratboy Report post Posted February 16, 2002 I predict a bold fourth-place finish for my Detroit Tigers. Go Someone else!!
Guest cartman2092 Report post Posted February 16, 2002 Uhhh....Ok you guys want predictions, Here's one thing I can fathom. Oakland will be NOTHING more than a 87 win team, but they will win the division because Seattle is Severely overrated. Ichiro is going to be good, but not GREAT and the rest of that team cannot play above their heads again. Not to mention their gonna miss Sele. Anyone that denies the RedSox of the wild card this season is just kidding themselves. With a REAL Leadoff hitter followed by Nixon, Nomar, Manny, and Clark....Fughedaboutit! Guest ajc Report post Posted February 22, 2002 Some random thoughts... As an Oakland A's fan for over 20 glorious years, I see them as winning the wildcard, again. They need to stay healthy, especially in their rotation, but the Giambi loss shouldn't keep them from the 87-91 win mark. Seattle...overrated? Nah, and I hate 'em. They won't win 116 again, but 95-98 isn't out of the question...and that's with the loss of Sele. The Yanks are still the team to beat. I wouldn't be surprised if they get out of the gate a little slowly and then turn it on in June/July. I figure they'll coast to the AL East crown with a 10+ game lead. Look for Johnny Damon to have a huge year in Boston. He was god-awful in Oakland last year (.324 OBP) but he's moving to a much better hitter's park and won't have the pressure of a playoff race to weigh on him (sorry, sox fans). Also, take the White Sox in the central. Over in the NL, I likes Atlanta in the East...St. Louis in the Central and the Giants out west, with the D'Backs as the wildcard. Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 22, 2002 Damon sucks during the first half of the year no matter where he is.
Guest Jericholic82 Report post Posted February 22, 2002 AL East: Yanks West: Seattle Central: Twins (going out on a limb here, but they looked good last year and if they are really going ot be contracted, I think they'll be motivated to give their fans one last good season) Wildcard: Indians NL: East: I think the Braves prob but it may be the mets West: Giants Central: Cards Wildcard: braves or mets, whoever loses the east title World Series: Yanks over Cards in five or six games
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted February 23, 2002 AL: East: Baltimore Orioles (Honestly, it is very possible since the East is the worst division in baseball, even with the Yankees. IF the Yankees have trouble, I do believe that the O's can pull it off but then again Im very biased...) Guest Scott Christ Report post Posted February 23, 2002 AL: East: Baltimore Orioles (Honestly, it is very possible since the East is the worst division in baseball, even with the Yankees. IF the Yankees have trouble, I do believe that the O's can pull it off but then again Im very biased...) I don't want to offend you or anything, but that is the stupidest thing I have ever seen anyone say. You do realize the Orioles are one of the three worst teams in baseball, right? They are terrible. They're MY favorite team, TOO. They are awful. Just accept it and you won't have such a hard time this season when they lose 100 games again. The East is also hardly the worst division in baseball, as it has (arguably) the best team in the league and a playoff contender. The Blue Jays are also a rather decent team. The Orioles and Devil Rays suck, but this is not at all worse than the AL Central with the "okay" Twins, White Sox and Indians and BUTT awful Royals and Tigers.
