Guest The Vanilla Midget Report post Posted May 24, 2002 this is where the money is for them right now, they need to take wwa's lead and clear out of the over-saturated north american market. 47,000 tickets sold to public plus 10-13,000 which are corporate/package deals. thats a hell of a lot of money for the wwe, and im sure there are other countries like australia which are just busting to see the wwf live. i bet vince is regretting only putting on one show here now, as they could have *easily* sold another out in sydney, and possibly brisbane and perth as well. Guest Anorak Report post Posted May 24, 2002 I just hope the next proper international PPV is in the UK, i think the fans here deserve it. I can see the WWF focusing increasing attention on promoting overseas events if attendances at home continue to fall, they could have several events with Wrestlemania level crowds throughout the year which would help them through their current rough period. The expanded UK, German and Australian tours we have seen in the first half of this year is likely to be the sign of things to come. Australia is potentially a very lucarative new area for them to gain a large and dedicated fanbase. Some cynics thought the WWF's popularity in the UK was a 'fad' but a large number of people stayed loyal and devoted fans and shows still sell out incredibly fast well over a decade since they first gained a foothold here.
