Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2006 The commentary was disapointing, pretty boring actually. I LOVED the bit on the gag reel where Mal was yelling at the crew to put Book's body on the front of the ship, cause he's a friend and should be honored, for Kaylee to get the kid taking a dirt nap with baby Jesus, and for Jayne to "STOP STEALING THEIR SHIT!" RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2006 Yeah, the DVD needed Fillion and Joss on commentary. I didn't enjoy Josses commentary nearly as much as I have on other things, and I think a suitable drinking game would be 1 shot every time Joss talks about how they didn't have enough money. "He is our friend, we should honour him" and Jewel breaking down laughing were highlights of the awesome gagreel.
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2006 You guys are basically asking for them to release another edition of this DVD to pay for. And Whedon's commentary did get tiresome.
Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2006 Agreed. I spent more time reading the captions than I did listening to Joss. It really needed NAthan in the mix.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2006 Not asking for another DVD, just wish the commentary would have been better.
Anya 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2006 I listened to it tonight and it was boring. I usually like Whedon's commentary too. This one needed more Nathan talking about his pants splitting. The best thing about the DVD is the deleted scene where Mal throws a fake grenade and him falling down in the shuttle and saying ".......I'm ok...." off screen. Lovable dumbass Mal is great, it's worth making him and the Alliance look stupid for those gags. Oh and I got the Chosen Collection Buffy DVD set and the extra disc sucks. The featurettes are boring and the round table discussion offers nothing new. There's a few trademark Joss self deprecating jokes but the rest is uninteresting. Emma is part of the round table and talks for a total of like 30 seconds.
