Guest Arnold_OldSchool Report post Posted October 4, 2005 I wasn't bashing Favre, I live in Green bay and he's my Favorite Player ever, since he got started in 93 just as i became a fan. Last night all i kept saying to myself was "Good ole Brett's gonna pull this off!" I was merely stating that Favre wouldn't recieve a 10 million dollar per year deal from any team on the open market now, due to his age, etc. Sorry to have drawn your wrath. The local press are calling for the firings of the Special Teams coach, the benching of Carroll, and saying Barnett's hit the wall and is another bust. Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted October 4, 2005 The local press are calling for the firings of the Special Teams coach, the benching of Carroll, and saying Barnett's hit the wall and is another bust. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, we've all wanted Carroll benched since last year.. hell we all knew he was a bad pick the second he was drafted, and he's lived up to just that. He's got speed and big play "potential", but he gets WAY too many penalties. That pass interference call he got against Steve Smith last night had to be the most obvious P.I. call I'd ever seen in the history of the league. But calling Barnett a bust is idiotic. Amidst all the shittiness on the rest of the team, the defense has been playing much better than last year, and the run defense in particular is doing a great job, and Barnett/Jenkins/Jackson are the main reason why, along with KGB's improvement against the run. Bates came through with exactly what he promised to do with the defensive line, and I'm happy in that regard, but they've got major, major problems at SS and the corner starting opposite Al Harris. Not to mention Robert Thomas (LB starting opposite Na'il Diggs and Nick Barnett), who was signed and fed the entire defensive playbook literally 5 days before the season opener. I'd call for the firing of Tom Rossley, the offensive coordinator who's been having serious health problems as of late anyways.. and went in for heart surgery and missed 4 weeks- the 4 weeks the Pack just happened to dig themselves out of a 1-4 hole. It's no coincidence either that Sherman and Favre were the ones calling the plays in the 4th quarter last night. And maybe, just maybe, Sherman's proving he can't handle being a head coach either..
