Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted May 25, 2002 The Rock had a MRI done earlier this week on his knee. He has a small tear in his PCL, will need to have some therapy for a few weeks to assist in the recovery and should be able to go upon his return. If surgery is performed, it will require two to three weeks of rehab. How in the Hell did the Rock get injured, if he hasn't done anything in the past few months? My sentiments exactly... also, don't forget Sharmell! She's a backstage interview person, how did she get injured? I wondered where she went.
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted May 25, 2002 Rey Mysterio Jr. and Nova had a very good match on OVW TV, as did Kanyon, who looks excellent, and Prototype John Cena. Cena is one of our top prospects and has the potential to be a main-event-level hand for years to come in this company. ... Tom Prichard recently finished a mini-camp with Dawn Marie and Kim Nielsen, and while both demonstrate potential, there is still a significant amount of work to be done by both ladies to make it long-term on RAW or SmackDown! Each lady has a positive attitude and seems to work hard, which is always a great place to start. Why is it that Rey Misterio Jr. and Kanyon, who have more than proven themselves over their years in WCW (and WWF for Kanyon, even if they didn't let him do much) have to go to OVW, when Maven never did, and the winner of TE:2 (is this trash over yet?) never will either? I don't think I'll ever be able to let go the "Maven never paid his dues" thing, and the fact that he's suddenly elevated into a program with Kurt Angle without showing he can do anything but get one good pop for knocking out Undertaker from behind (which any "underdog" character would've gotten) doesn't make me forget it any more. As for the ladies, given that the women's division is going back to hell (get well soon Jazz!), what possible "significant amount of work" other than implants could you need to make it on RAW or Smackdown!? I mean come on... Stacy Keibler is the perfect example of that... she looks and dances like a stripper (uhh... not that there's anything wrong with that JHawk... I've been in lover with a stripper before, and a porn star, and a lesbian... oh! off topic again...) and rehashes the Trish/Vince old-rich-pervert-with-Anna-Nicole-Smith storyline relationship that nobody wants and gets a PPV title shot. Lita looks bad and does sloppy hurricanranas in every Hardy Boyz match EVER and was the most over woman in the company. How bad can Marie and Nielsen be? Maven had at least one stint in the HWA. Rey Misterio and Kanyon are in OVW to work off ring rust. They're not "paying dues." Maybe when they get out, but not now. But Rey Jr has been in Mexico and various other promotions working as recently as March/April or so....perhaps even later than that since I haven't been following much, except for seeing him on Tuesday Night Lucha Libre. He's also looked great in those same matches. Whatever rust he has, it has to be minimal. It's not like he's been sitting on his ass and biding his time for a full year. As others have said, Kanyon is there because he hasn't wrestled in over 6 months. He has to get back in ring shape. And Rey is probably there to get acclimated to the dreaded WWE Style. Guest Brian Report post Posted May 25, 2002 Maven would have had at least a month in OVW but I think they called him up early, because they needed someone IIRC.
Guest Report post Posted May 26, 2002 Don't forget, the WWE rings are larger and have more bounce then most others. So, "New" guys like Rey Jr, get sent down to OVW/HWA so they can get a feel for them. Remember when the "Invasion" angle first started? It was being reported a lot of the WcW/ECW guys were having problems getting used to the WWE rings.
